This place sucks. Don't ever move here. They can't even bother to get their elevators inspected on a timely basis.

I was one of the first people to move into pinnacle apartments when they first opened. We were drawn to this place because it was brand new, the location was AMAZING, and they had nice amenities. My husband and I are both in the military, he's in the navy and I'm in the airforce. This apartment complex is literally minutes from the highway which was a huge plus for us. The first few months of our stay was great. But over time, we noticed stuff fall apart. People were moving in every weekend, we were fighting for parking spaces, and then they integrated parking stickers for residents. Which somewhat helped but they never really stayed on top of it. If you lose it or something happens, it is $50 to get a new one. There's been multiple car break-ins and theft so they hired "security guards" to patrol the premises a few times a night but that doesn't really help. I've personally never seen them around. I had ALOT of co workers that lived at pinnacle with us and a good chunk of their tires got flat due to NAILS scattered all over the parking lot. But when confronted, they just got wide eyed and blamed the company that THEY HIRE. SMH. One time, someone PUKED on the elevator buttons and all over the floor and they never really cleaned it. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the stain is still thThere was a storm that passed through and ripped all the cabanas by the pool and they never replaced it. The maintenance here is crap. They have nice things but if they don't take care of it, what's the point? Another reason why I chose to pay $1,400 just for rent a month to live here is because it's supposed to be a LUXURY apartment. But they don't really screen people and you can smell the weed everywhere and people are obnoxious. I had to file noise complaints on multiple occasions because the people living BELOW me were pumping music pretty much everyday past 11pm. It came to a point where my husband and I were so sick of living here that when we got extension orders here, we went ahead and bought a house and paid $4,000 to break the lease. It hurt because I didn't want to spend my hard earned money on something like this, but to me IT WAS SO WORTH IT! Oh, and they billed us $300 in concessions after we moved out. Thank god that my husband and I took care of our apartment room because we weren't penalized for anything and they actually sent us an email thanking us for leaving the place so clean. Towards the end of our stay, there was a lady that was newer at the leasing office and when we explained what had happened to us, she was super nice and helped us transition out of there smoothly. So if you're looking into moving here because of the move in specials, or because it seemingly "looks nice" turn around and find yourself a more spacious place, or even better, rent a HOUSE for the same or CHEAPER price. You'll thank me later. ******UPDATE********** I noticed that lately I've been seeing a lot of ads for Pinnacle on Facebook. So I told people to stay away and tried to leave another review, but when I clicked to post the review, I got a pleasant pop up saying I've been blocked by the admin. What a FUCKING JOKE. This is absolutely ridiculous, I guess they gotta do whatever it takes to keep their 4.5 star review that was mostly inputted in 2016!!!

The garbage room on the third floor. Which is simply a microcosm of the entire complex.

Obsessed with my apartment. And the leasing agents are so kind and helpful. Chelsie made my move from out of town stress free and easy.

My…read moreboyfriend (at the times) was at Langley and I was commuting to Virginia Beach, so the location was one of the best options for my commute without living in the Southside. The property is pretty new and the prices reflect that- we paid $1200/mo for a 1 bedroom and den and 1.5 bathrooms. That price is with a $300 concession. This apartment seemed to be mostly Hampton University students and military. Here are some of the problems I had with this apartment: 1. Parking is a pain. You get one spot and if you want another one, I think it's about $40/mo. So you have to park in the parking garage because there is a 2 hour limit on street parking from 8:00-6:00. Yes, they give tickets. 2. I think there were three managers in the one year that I lived here. I think the turnover is a bad sign. 3. I went on vacation for a week and they said that I could have a free parking spot while I was gone. They ended up towing my car because a new person moved in and the property person didn't check the parking list, where there was a note about my car. 4. The amenities are bare. No pool, tennis courts, etc. They have a little rinky dink gym and "business room" where there's a computer and printer. But the property is "green" so you have to provide your own paper. The property staff doesn't plan any fun events for the residents. 5. I don't know what was up with the washer, but we were constantly having problems with it. I guess it was problems with balancing the laundry and we had to make a maintenance request several times about this. 6. Residents weren't respectful of the facilities. I would see trash all the time in the elevator, on the stairs, etc. On the bright side, the maintenance guy is really nice :)

Being new to the military and this being me and my husband's first apartment outside of our home state, we were looking for something in our price range and up to our expectations regarding safety and comfort. Unfortunately, this complex failed on every level. The most disturbing experience was when my husband was robbed inside the gates of the property, right where residents are supposed to feel safe. We reported the incident immediately, and the response from management was shockingly dismissive. They claimed the security cameras weren't good enough to identify the person who robbed him, and that there was nothing they could do. Not only was this response unacceptable, it made it clear that resident safety is not a priority here. The gates might as well be for show, and any sense of security is purely an illusion. Beyond that, the complex is poorly maintained. The common areas like the elevators and halls are filthy , trash piles up regularly at the dumpsters, and there's a general lack of upkeep. I personally don't know the difference between water bugs and roaches because I've never had either but this apartment is infested with them. To make matters worse, management seems more focused on squeezing every penny out of residents than actually providing a livable or secure environment. Hidden fees, poor service, and zero accountability are the norm here. If you're looking for a safe, clean, and professionally run apartment -- this is not the place. I wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone.

Other apartments I looked at were charging 300-400 PER DOG...WITH PET RENT. Like wth, seriously. This place charged me 400 for BOTH my pups. Yeah, I had to pay pet rent too, but that doesn't bother me. The apartments itself are clean and I like the way they look honestly. I live in a one bedroom on the first floor and it's super spacious, almost too big for just one person. The walk-in closet is one of my favorite aspects of this apartment, as well as the kitchen. There's more counter space than what I'm used to and it's nice and open. Natural light is pretty good in the bedroom and in the living room coming in from the windows on the entry doors. Outside the apartments is well-kept and is always nice and clean. I don't run into any issues with trash being left everywhere. Speaking of trash, they use a service called Trash Faeries that pick up your trash right from outside your doorstep every night from Sunday to Thursday and it's AWESOME. The ladies that help me out at the front desk are always on top of communication via phone or email. I have never had an issue with them not returning my calls or emails and they are always very professional. Sometimes, maybe only one of them is working and the office is empty while they're showing an apartment to a prospective resident, so I'd say call first if you're going to make a stop in to pick up a package or something.

Twice a year, for more than five years, roofers came to "repair" my daughter's ceiling. The last repair lasted for two weeks - it was soaked through again by the next heavy rain- before they could even paint over the repaired area. I learned that the entire roof on my building (285) needs to be replaced. I refused further repairs and the disruptions that accompanied repairs each time, as it was merely a bandaid on a gunshot wound. I, again, requested placement in a renovated comparable unit. An offer to move (without a new application and credit check) only came after I contacted 10 On Your Side and the City of Hampton Codes and Compliance. I was advised the new unit would be ready to move into a few days prior (told on Wed. and moved Friday. I was told the unit was exterminated, cleaned and renovated. I went from a two-bedroom, two-bathroom garden apartment to a two-bedroom, 1 1/2 bathroom townhome with a significantly smaller main bedroom.
