This place is beyond rustic into dump category. Specifically, broken tile work around the tub. Seems unclean overall. Barely working A/C. Pay more and go somewhere else. I'm rating it a one stars because we did survive. If you have the misfortune of staying here, bring your own towels. The few you start with will not be replaced or added to. Well first off the name is a misnomer. Although the it is still called "cabins on the square", the cabins we had were actually 2 miles from the square. I get they are owned by the same group but this misleading. We had to call after we arrived for someone to come clean the room. The bathroom in particular had not been touched. Beware the unsolicited cancelations! If you book a cabin here, then don't assume you'll actually get it. Leading up to your stay, you'll have to repeatedly call and beg Pinewood Cabins not to cancel your reservation, and even then, nothing is guaranteed. Whatever you do, never drive or fly all the way over here without confirming that your reservation still exists. Otherwise, when you arrive and discover you've been bamboozled, you'll need to scramble to book some inferior place--like we had to do once--to avoid being homeless. Why? Pinewood likes to silently cancel your booking and pretend you did it. They won't even bother to call or email to inform you that they gave your cabin away. Pinewood is a repeat offender. For our annual family reunions, we and our relatives have been renting cabins here every year for nearly two decades, and this kind of thing has happened to our party a whopping eight times (yes, we counted). Every time, they cook up some baloney excuse but never offer so much as a "sorry." Once they pull a fast one on you and you lose your cabin, you probably won't get it back because the people now staying in your cabin get priority to rebook that cabin next year. This review is for Pinewood cabins in the valley which is a part of pinewood Cabins on the Square. When we arrived and opened the door we noticed there were not any sheets, pillow cases, or blankets on the bed. I called the office and someone brought sheets but forgot the blankets. When we put the sheets on the beds we noticed the stains on the mattresses. We flipped the mattress over hoping it was cleaner. Then we started noticing the dirt everywhere especially the mold covering the walls in the bathroom. We slept on top of the sheets and used our own pillows and blankets. The musty smell was overwhelming and unpleasant throughout the night. We also noticed there was no deadbolt on the doors so we piled our stuff in front of the doors. We had to stay 2 nights here and hope we can help others with this review. For $115 a night, this was a horrible experience. read more

My sister emailed the manager Ashley about changing reservations but did not get a reply, then she tried to call several times but no answer. I tried calling several times, and she finally answered. We arrived and the door was unlocked, no toilet paper, one towel, TV in the living room volume did not work & was never fixed after telling her. T-towels, wash rag, bath rug and old towels. We had to clean the coffee pot, and ice trays which had cracks on both trays. Two forks, two plates and two spoons which looked like they were cut up in a garage disposer. Dust on ceiling fan and bed. Floor was dirty first night my sister had black feet from the floor. Next day we went to office to pay her, she had the office open 20 minutes and needed to leave to go to Oklahoma for her dog to breed. She always answered the phone as... Yes! She would not take 2 transactions from 2 different people because her system would not let her. My past experience in work place, upgraded the system to meet customers needs. We had a problem with our room and she wanted to move us to a very small handicap room that smelled terriable! So she told me, if we didn't move to that room we could just go find some where else to stay.. She was very RUDE!!!!!! I booked before I saw them in person and I was not disappointed, at first. The bed and fold out couch were impossible to get out of in the morning without crying out from pain! I kid you not!! Even the sixteen year old was in pain! Another important thing to know....to put the "do not disturb" sign out...means nothing!! We went to Blanchard Springs Caverns, all day Sunday, when we returned the cleaning person had been there. We had arrived Saturday evening so there was no need to change out a few towels. We hold our annual family reunion here and haven't had any issues for several years. The kids have plenty of room to play outside, the pool is plenty enough to enjoy and staff has always been fabulous. We love using the kitchen, as we are larger families and we cook our meals for the most part. We have more than 60 people who come from all over the U.S. to meet here, and each visit makes us wish we could stay even longer. We used to only stay Friday and Saturday nights, now several of us arrive Wednesday and head out Sunday or Monday due to having such a great time. The cabins are within walking distance to town, and close proximity to the Folk Center, Skillet, Go Carts and more. A heads up, these cabins go for sale occasionally, buy a cabin to stay in on vacation and rent it out for when you're not here. What else could beat that?!?! read more

Horrible Sevice! If I could give this place a Negative Star I would! Here is why. PLEASE READ!!! BEWARE!!! You were WARNED!!! First off 4 years ago I left my cell phone there and they REFUSED to look for it and wouldn't let me back in the cabin to look for it myself. I talked to a cop there and he suggested that I turn in a police report just in case the phone turned up, so I did. And as soon as I turned the phone off guess what?! Pinewood Cabins called and said they found my cellphone in the "bushes". Hummm....sounds fishy to me. Oh and btw they made sure to mention that me and my family were not welcome there anymore since I got the cops involved because it "hurt there feelings". SMH. This time they had our whole family moved around and all over the place instead of together like we usually are. They gave away a cabin that my Uncle Jerry didn't get to use and not to one of our family but someone else. Plus our cabin was "under renovations" you couldn't tell if by the looks of the outside of it. So they moved us and not in an upgraded cabin like you would think they would but a much smaller cabin than anyone else in the family had. PLUS! Someone complained about us twice for being to loud on a Friday and Saturday night at 9pm!!! Our karaoke night was shut down because someone complained. I'm sorry but if you don't like it go somewhere else. And Shame on Pinewood Cabins for siding with one customer over another. They have already lost the Brewer Family business as far as I'm concerned. We have been going there for almost 10 years and rent out at least 10 Cabins for 2 days every year. We are already looking into going to The Red Apple Inn for next year and from now on. If Pinewood Cabins keeps this up they won't have any business from anyone! read more

Stayed in the hotel part 4 nights. Housekeeping was so attentive we never ran out of towels. Room had a small sitting area with frig, tv, and microwave. Bedroom had 2 beds. Spotless accommodation. Brief walk up a hill ( great exercise). Didn't have to move my car. Was able to walk to the courthouse square for all the concessions and cafes during the folk festival. First time staying here. Highly recommend. Already re-booked for next year. read more

My inlaws booked a larger cabin for a stay over the weekend, we planned on staying together. They mentioned my mother in law has to use a wheelchair sometimes. The cabins moved their reservation from the roomier cabin where we could have all stayed together to a one bedroom wheelchair accessible. When we explained this to the staff they said they could not help because the previous cabin had already been rented. This in turn forced us to have to find accommodations for the rest of us elsewhere. We receive a phone call from the staff the night before our arrival asking why we hadn't checked in yet. Seems the staff had confused the dates and had us arrive. Booked us for Friday and Saturday night instead of Saturday and Sunday. We were informed we would be charged for the Friday night we did not stay. On top of that the cabin we were moved to had been rented for Sunday night and we would have to move to another room and pay for that night also. Tried to let this all go only to recieve a call from the staff explaining that when we checked in they undercharged us and we had to come back to the office and pay an extra $8.50. Never had problems with this place in the past. Have stayed here many times. I'll make every effort to avoid it in the future. UPDATE. After having problems with noisy neighbors sunday night, hanging out drinking and being extra loud, my mother in law mentioned it to the maids and they apologized profusely and said they would let the manager know. We receive a call from the desk. The manager basically said it was our fault it went on all night because we didn't call the desk. Also mentioned seeing this review and preceded to argue about it saying it was one sided and unfair. Well this is my side. At checkout she proceeds to argue with us about the validity of this review and it being unfair. Also demanded that I delete it. She tells us that mistakes were made on both ends. This review will remain 1 star because at no point was any steps taken by the manger to rectify any of the the things that happened. 2 nights stay for the price of 3 and victim shaming from the manager. The maids were very friendly as well the rest of the staff. 5 stars for them. We used to only wanna stay here anytime we came to town but we will spend our time and money elsewhere from now on. And yeah we did make a mistake. Booking a room here. The manager has since removed the ability to rate their establishment on Facebook. Thus making my review disappear. This place is very nice. We stayed in a nice cabin for 3 nights. There are bigger cabins and also a motel. The ladies at the front desk were always super sweet. Our cabin had a full kitchen, living room, jacuzzi tub with windows to see the TV, full shower, and a comfy queen size bed; all for a very reasonable price! The kitchen came stocked with pots and pans, utensils, plates, glasses and all the necessities to cook and eat with. I've never stayed in a place away from home so clean, either. It is settled in a nice part of town and you can definitely feel safe. Only negative thing I have to say is there isn't much of a view. You could definitely say this is a home away from home. read more

Pleasant location close to the Square, new cabins and landscaping, queen bed, jet tub, kitchen, front porch with swing and rocker, easy walk up the hill to the Square for music jams. I've been staying at Pinewood Cabins for at least 10 years. Each time I return I'm impressed to see them keep on growing. They are up to around 75 cabins and motel-style rooms now. You have to stay a minimum of two days in order to reserve a cabin. They book up sometimes, and it's easy to see why. The place is so-well-managed! The rooms or cabins are unfailingly neat and tidy. While the motel type rooms are less interesting than the cabins and lack a full kitchen, they still have thoughtful little touches. We ducked out to Walmart for provisions since it was past 8 o'clock in October and most non-chain restaurants were closed and were pleased to find a pair of shears with which to open stubborn packages, a knife to spread cheese and glasses and mugs. We used the glass plate from the microwave and so put together a nice little meal. Popped the leftovers into the fridge. Best of all, the cabins are short walk from the Stone County Square where the music just keeps on going, pretty much all the time, but especially on Friday and Saturday evenings during the warmer parts of the year. There's a small swimming pool too so bring your swimming costume! Hands down, this is one of the best places to stay in this corner of Arkansas. It's affordable, efficiently managed, with a friendly staff and ... it's scrupulously clean. I've never been disappointed. read more
