This place has been around for over 30 years, and reliable , trustworthy service. When I read reviews from other people, it's obvious they're kids who need their butts wiped with every transaction. I've been doing business here with Nick and his crew for YEARS and will continue to do so. If you need someone to hold your hand while making a deal on rental equipment, go someplace that caters to children.... this is an adult rental facility that dislikes catering to snotty, crying little babies. read more

Insanely rude and such a awkward situation. From the moment I called the owner had a weird attitude and the moment I arrived, I was confused about the deposit which was no issue anyway and also asked a question about how many miles to the gallon the truck took and I got called stupid and also pointed out that the gas was less filled than was supposed to be and the owner said don't even start. Ha so weird and these people are just extremely rude. Take your business somewhere else. Somewhere that knows how to treat a customer properly. Would rather spend an extra $100 somewhere else. Frustrated and appalled. Reserved a trailer to move weeks in advance. The day comes to pick it up and they don't have any trailers. Why did I make the reservation? Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry reserves the car and they don't have it. Very frustrating. In addition, the man working was amazingly rude. Luckily, we were able to locate another trailer through another rental service that day. Suggest to make reservations for moving trucks and trailers and other rentals elsewhere. read more

I don't know why all these bad reviews are listed here- i'm surprised ! The customer service and friendliness was beyond what you get now a days; threw me off! I am so happy I stopped at Pines Rental to return my u haul vehicle. They not only are a u haul rental but have everything you need to help you have a successful event. I would highly recommend Pines Rental as a one stop shopping center for your moving/storage and event planning needs. There is a public storage down the street and a gas station near by to re fuel your u haul rental! Again, I can not say enough about their excellent customer service! read more

Should have known going in what I was getting myself into by reading the other reviews. The people before me were spot on with their assessment of this particular location. I would not rent from them again, even if it meant I had to pay a little extra to drive the wrong direction to another uhaul dealer. Just plain rude, whether on the phone or in person. Tried to tell me I brought the truck back without being full of fuel, when it clearly was, and then when I walked out there and checked it myself with a different employee, lie and behold it was full. I use Pine Rental for various items...chairs, tables, Uhaul's, etc. Their prices are fair, their business hours are convenient (more convenient than many other rentals places, in my opinion), and I have never had any issues with their equipment. I see a lot of reviews mention issues regarding Uhaul, and everyone should be aware that Pines is simply an agent of Uhaul and can't control if trucks aren't returned. I have rented 5 Uhauls in the past 12 months (I know, I am a glutton for pain). The 4 times I picked up from Pines Rental, my truck was there and I was in and out quickly working with their employees. One time, I got a notification from Uhaul the day before my reservation saying I had to pick up a truck at another Joliet location because Pines didn't have the truck I needed (even though I reserved it...Uhaul doesn't guarantee anything). In addition to my frustration with Uhaul, my frustration with the other Joliet pick-up location was even greater. They opened later than Pines, the cashier didn't know how to work the Uhaul system. Picking up the truck took 45 minute and dropping it off took 30 minutes. At Pines Rental, I am in and out in 5 minutes. Overall, I would recommend Pines Rental to friends and family. read more

First and last time I'll ever rent anything from there... and sad too, since it is so close to home. Needed to rent a post hole digger to install a patio in my yard. Got it home, and on the first hole, the sharp blade on the bottom snapped off (loose bolt). Spent more time trying to fix it than I did use it. I sent my wife back twice to pick up some manual equipment to help clear some holes while we fixed the blade, and eventually got so fed up, I went back to exchange the unit. The guy there offered to give me a new bottom piece for the auger, and I had asked him (since they closed in an hour, and I was nowhere near finished due to the malfunction) if I could have it the rest of the day at the current rate I was paying. He laughed, and said either pay the full rate, or bring it back, as they're not in business to give "shit" away. He then told me the auger was brand new (even though there were dents and chips all over it, and the unit itself was covered in dirt and oil from previous rentals). I brought the thing back back to him, and noted how terrible it is of them to not even offer to help their customers a little - he again laughed, said he had no intention to help me out, said have a nice day, and walked away. On a side-note, Home Depot was able to have an auger ready on short notice for us given the circumstance, and gave it to us for the entire day at the 4 hour rate - willing to help a (potential) and now current customer. I'll never go back there, period - as they have no care or concern for their customers, and are only out to rip them off... considering they claimed their stuff is brand new... which is a complete oxymoron since they're a rental outfit, and make money off leasing out used equipment again and again. Don't do it... do your homework... it'll be worth saving yourself the headache and the loss of money, as they won't even refund part of your money for their stuff not working.
