I repeatedly requested information relating to my child, but was told the file was "confidential" and that the school would not provide. As my daughter's biological mother with parental rights, I felt excluded from decisions involving my own child while her father is currently overseas. I was particularly concerned after being informed that "all parties agreed" to the enrollment, as that did not reflect my experience. I expected greater transparency, communication, and respect for parental involvement, especially from a Christian school. Regardless of the legal issues between parents, I believe schools should strive to communicate openly with both parents. My experience left me feeling excluded rather than welcomed.
