I can only speak to the speediness of the biometrics office, but our experience was way better than we could have hoped for a government department. If you've been dreading an appointment here, definitely try to schedule on a weekday and arrive early. It makes the process so much less stressful.

The building was clean, stately, & easy to find your way around. The offices & staff were friendly & helpful. For traffic night court in a small city it had many more people than I have ever seen in Tampa. Per usual, many officers did not show up & those cases were dismissed. I was lucky...my officer showed up & was not going to let the matter drop. The judge was GREAT! He explained everything in detail & really listened to each case individually & in my humble opinion made fair & accurate assessments. What's a girl to do? We parked in the short term parking garage since the first 60 minutes is free. The elevator on the red side of the parking garage takes you straight down to baggage claim. It was a short walk after exiting the elevator. It was very convenient. It was great because they called us in right away even though we were super early for the appointment. The two ladies fingerprinted and registered us at the same time. I think it only took about 10 minutes. Such great service! I recommend this location to anyone who needs to enroll for TSA Precheck.

I decided to make an appointment and last minute my husband decided to take his chances and go with me abd see if he could get in. My appointment was at 9:00 and we arrived super early at 8:20. I was taken right in and we were both done by 8:40. Very effificient pricess. All you need is your passport and credit card. Cost is $85 for 5 years. You can check your approval status on line within a week of enrollment. For anyone who has had the pleasure of getting choaen randomly when flying you know how wonderful it is to get the expedited line and keep your shoes, belt and jacket on and not have to take your computer out of your bag. It is a breeze. I fly a lot so this is money well spent and I can stay fully clothed at all airport security check points. Highly recommend for anyone who flies more than a few times a year as the cost is minimal compared to the hassle of not having it and Tampa International airport makes it easy. My friend and I recently had the chance to stop in to the Chamber of Commerce during a recent trip to Tarpon Springs for the Epiphany. Even though they weren't officially open they were gracious enough to provide much needed information about the event as we were first time visitors to it. Inside the welcoming center were baskets of free sunblock, luggage tags, and fans. There were also many maps and brochures for area attractions. I found out about a monthly $7 lighthouse tour that I would love to come back for someday. It is free in May if you are a mom. They also promote events, festivals, and concerts in the city. My friend was able to purchase inexpensive postcards and an art poster. Their hours are limited to weekdays instead of weekends when most people would visit but if they are open it is worth stopping by to see what is going on in Tarpon Springs.

Today, while wandering Main street with my mom, we decided to stop in and see what was going on... They were having a local artist show, where the community judged the art, and they would have a reception this evening - it had been going on all month. The community favorite would be announced over wine and noshes. There were bits and bobs for sale, pieces of art on the walls and in cases. I was immediately drawn to on case where I saw a beautiful pendant, a heart shaped piece, that had a mermaid looking off into a multi colored sea. Bought it. Bought a ring made from a spoon handle as well, with the word INSPIRE stamped in it, and a former scrabble tile that had lived it's life, and now given new meaning as a necklace, with a quote from "Alice in Wonderland" it reads "We're all mad Here" I like this place, I'll come back just to see what new goodies the artists come up with.

A few Legion posts just are plain boring with monthly meetings, but this post is the exception. My wife and I went in on Wing night / Karaoke night and had a blast. Granted, you can not come in here if you are not a member, but if you are a friend of one they can sign you in. This is a classic 80's style Dive bar, and the average age here is very much Viet Nam, and older Vet's, but for me (Persian Gulf, Bosnia, etc) it wasn't a big deal. I love hanging out with Vet's of all ages and love coming here for cheap drinks, great conversation and slightly scary karaoke :) Glad I'm a member and I moved into this town. This post is very connected to local charities, city events, and people that know people to get things done around. For example, my new house needed a kitchen and at least 2-3 members of the post owned companies in the area that can do just that. Can't wait to go back!

Fail! I went to the Orlando office to submit an documents for a G Security License. First, the…read moremethod of payment posted online is confusing. I get there with the necessary documents at my appointment time and I'm told I need a personal check or money order. So, now I have to drive to Publix for a money order. No cash or credit cards accepted. Next, I go back and find I have to complete an application. I do so diligently and turn it in to the clerk at the window. I watch him go through the application page-by-page. I get finger printed and leave. A month goes by and I check my license status online. It states; application incomplete. Through an online chat, I am told a whole page is missing. How can that be since I watched the incompetent moron go through it page by page. "I don't know" is the answer I get. But you were sent a letter date Dec. 10th. Ok, WTF does that have to do with the idiot not seeing the missing page. The parrot says' I don't know. Fortunately, I caught it before the 30 day deadline because I didn't receive their letter until 5 days after going back to the office. The whole time, I got the feeling they were blaming the victim. So I can't go to work still because of their moron's mistake. I just wonder how long it would continue if he had a months pay taken out of his pocket. Do yourself a favor and check your own paper work because no one knows how to do their job any more and there's no accountability.
