There's only one barber here, and there's something mentally troubling him cause he will start cussing and belittling you out of nowhere. It's real life demonic possession vibes.. the first time I walked in for an appointment, he looked and spoke to me with bloodshot serial killer eyes as if I broke into his house or something. And then out of nowhere a switch flipped and he was a normal cheerful dude. The second time, I forgot to respond to the appointment confirmation text, so he texted me personally the day before and I responded to him right away. I walk in the next day and he yells "YOU DIDN'T CONFIRM YOUR F****** APPOINTMENT!" couldn't believe what I heard so I respond "uhhh... what?" He repeats "You didn't f****** confirm the appointment! That's f****** rude!" I turned around and left him there to yell at himself. Don't go here. It's not worth making yourself vulnerable to an unhinged individual like this. I've had many barbers, but CJ by far knows his way around a head best. His consideration of your hair type, head shape, and your preferences shows his years of experience. No matter what's going on with your hair, he can make it look good. His vibes are unique in the sense that he's a well-rounded person with a wealth of experience, able to converse about any subject you choose or he will ask great questions. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this business any longer. CJ, the owner, still cuts amazing hair and is an incredibly talented barber, but he needs to make some changes in his life because having such a temper that he starts screaming at and belittling customers in the chair is unacceptable. You can be in the middle of a perfectly pleasant conversation, and it's like a switch flips and CJ goes straight into sarcasm and rude personal comments about your character like he knows you well or something. Been coming here for the last 5 years and have had good experiences for the most part. I usually book an early weekend appointment but needed a last minute haircut and booked the first available, Thursday at 8:30pm. My last haircut was not a good experience nor a good haircut. Bad haircuts happen but a bad haircut due to CJ rushing is not acceptable. As others have also stated, CJ can have an attitude and get annoyed by the most trivial things. I understand we all have bad days, but as a customer with various options, I don't think it's crazy to expect some level of customer service. If you care about customer service, this barber shop is NOT for you. I've been loyal to Pineapples for the past 6 years and enjoyed getting my hair cut by Eddie, who is no longer there. I've then had no choice but to switch to CJ since I have heard only bad reviews about Jordan, who is also no longer there. CJ is great at cutting hair and giving real recommendations to his customers, however, his attitude these days is getting worse and no longer tolerable. To the point, where he is blinded and unaware of how unprofessional he can be and how it is affecting his small business. Yes, I can acknowledge that some of the stuff he says can be funny, but nowadays, he is just rude to customers. Someone who is struggling to keep his business afloat should NOT be rude to any of his or her customers under any circumstances. CJ is a pessimist barber who just doesn't care what he says to his customers anymore. Professional? Tolerable? Absolutely not. I used to enjoy coming into the shop and having small conversations with CJ but for the past few appointments, I found myself contemplating if I should come back again. Unfortunately the haircut never happened. Went with my wife on the way to a date. I made it a point to be on time out of respect and he was still working on someone. I thought no worries so we sat. I started to watch how he cut hair and he turned to me saying I made him feel uncomfortable. I explained I was just watching him cut hair. Then he comments about the last minute appointment. Hmm I booked the last one he had open 2 days ago, so ok. When he was finally done I asked him if he still wanted to cut my hair. Is eyes were blood shot and it looked like a long day for him. Rude service but decent haircut. I was only five minutes late to the appointment and tried numerous of times to contact the shop of me being only a few minutes late as shown in proof below. When I arrived, the lady did not even greet me with a welcoming message and just sat me down, which already is a bad message to a new customer like me. Keep in mind, there was no other customer inside, just the lady. When she began cutting my hair, her styling was very aggressive to the point where I felt pain and got bruised on my lower neck (picture below as proof). My scalp felt like someone lit a fire on it then drowned it in ice cold water. At the end, she immediately belittled me saying how me arriving late "messes everything up" and that it's "annoying" but there was no other customer inside nor outside?! I came here a few weeks ago and this place is not what I expected from a barbershop. I made an appointment with the barber named cj, and when he showed me when he was about to finish my haircut i told him I liked my sides to be a little shorter and he just dismissed it saying that he would have to spend more time on me and that he would have to cut way more of it. Located in a small center with a liquor store, Hispanic Bar, and a laundry mat you cannot be more authentic of a barber shop than this. CJ the owner, barber, and good friend is my go to guy for a fresh cut. He is a very talented barber that has put in countless hours to perfect his craft. The most important thing about this barber shop is that they take their time in making sure the customer is satisfied and walking out feeling like family. They accept walk ins but I highly encourage making an appointment because they are VERY busy. The inside of the shop is very clean and tidy. The chairs are comfy and socially some of the best convos are to be had there. They are a very affordable barber with great quality cuts and aren't the hype barber shops that cost and arm and a leg to go to. Be sure to grab your favorite hair product there after your cut. Been coming here for almost a year now and I always come out with a consistent haircut. I get my haircut from Jordin because her availabilities usually work with my schedule and she always cuts a perfect fade. There are times where she might run behind (some clients come late or their cuts take longer which can throw her schedule off) but it never ends up compromising my haircut because she still makes sure I get exactly what I want. I've also gotten cuts from CJ and he is great as well. All the barbers seem to have good rapport with all their clients and are a chill bunch of people so you probably can't go wrong with any one of them. It is appointment only, which you're better off doing anyway instead of waiting an hour for the next available barber at another place. I chanced upon this place yesterday, Sep 2, 2014, after coming from the salon where this older Korean lady cuts my hair. I saw her almost every month and she has been cutting my hair for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, her store was closed although her car was there. She called me this morning saying a customer took her to dinner which is why the place was closed at 6:30PM. Not a lot of barbers/hair salons are open past 6pm or 7pm. So thanks to Yelp, I was able to filter out those that are open 'til 8PM, and led me to this place down the same street, Euclid. It had great Yelp reviews, although not many. After last night's visit, I see why they had 5 stars, but being open for just a very short time, they haven't garnered as many reviews as other places. But as busy as they were when I came in, despite being open for only 3 months, means they must be doing something right. And they were nice enough to let me come in even without the appointment. But that meant waiting almost an hour. That hour-long wait would've been so annoyingly boring at other places, but not here. CJ, the owner (who cut my hair) and Tommy were both very friendly and accommodating. With nothing to help me pass the time as my crappy iPhone 4S died on me the first 5 minutes I was here, I decided that this place was a barber shop, which just like the ancient Greeks did within their Polis, had become a public meeting place where men discuss ideas, philosophies, and most especially, gossip. Regarding the actual cut - I call CJ the math and science professor. Math because he works with precision. He studies the growth and direction of your hair, the shape of your head, and comes up with ideas on how to approach the cut. Science because his work is systematic. Professor because he'll present his ideas in a very professionally eloquent way, like a teacher showing his students how to dissect a frog. But overall, it's art, because he takes his time with his craft, of which he is a master. For the edges, he used a shaving cream blend of eucalyptus and lemon, which was like aromatherapy. Afterwards, a quick warm towel wrap around your head which was so relaxing. Lastly, he closes by telling you how to style your hair based on the cut that he just did. Both CJ and Tommy are very knowledgeable, accommodating, and very easy and comfortable to work with. We discussed topics from basketball, to business, and to the harsh realization that we were now in our 30's and that high school was a lifetime ago. The result... a clean, traditional but modern, professional look fit for my line of work and an engagement photo shoot next week. In short... SWAG!!! CJ and Liz are highly skilled professionals. It's hard to find people that cut as well as they do and that explains why they're highly sought after. They're also friendly, extremely accommodating, and treat me like family. This barber shop is up with the times in terms of scheduling. They don't take walk ins which eliminates the ambiguity of waiting 30 min to and an hour+ for a haircut at other places. You make an appointment online and show up on time and get an amazing haircut. It's as simple as that. In terms of haircut, they're very adept with their tools whether it be the shaver or fine scissors. I moved down to Fullerton three years ago, and finding a new barber was a source of stress. I'd been going to the same shop with the same two cats for about a decade, and change is hard as hell. Fortunately, I found the good folks at Pineapples early on in my search. There are a handful of good barbers in North OC, but I've tried a few and have never had a better experience in terms of both cut, treatment, and service than I have every time at Pineapples. I've had a cut from all four of the barbers at this point, and they're all fantastic. And yes, they require an appointment, but their website makes it easy as pie, so be a damn adult and book up before you show up. I met CJ well after his shop was closed, he may have been cleaning up shop or doing the books while I was having a couple of beers next door, and then and I wander in... Me: Hey Bruh, do you cut black hair? CJ: Smiles, and sparks up a conversation after hours with me... After a short discussion I figure I would give CJ a shot. He listens to you, listens what you need. I needed a cut ASAP, as my last barber was no longer available. Crazy that I was talking to him at 9:30 at night and he made special accommodations for me and I was in his chair at 12:15 the next day. Me: You can go ahead and comb it all out, I'm not tender headed... CJ: Smiles, I want to get a good look at your head and scalp before I get started. After good conversation and the age old technique that barbers use of not really letting you get a look at what they're doing until they are done and BOOM! He turns me toward the mirror and holds a mirror behind me so I can get a full view of my bald fade with a smoothed out flat top. Very Impressed. Get back to work and get compliments upon my arrival. Finish the afternoon by going home and styling my new cut. Thoroughly Impressed. Finally made an account! (Originally reviewed on gf's account) I love this place and have been coming here since mid-2015. Cuts made by appointment are a good deal at $16 but they take their time and don't rush through cutting your hair. I always go to CJ for my haircut. He takes his time figuring out how he's going to cut it and explains what he thinks would be the best cut and the process to how he's going to cut it. He cuts fades like a boss (no pun intended). He knows how to have a good conversation but doesn't yap, and the other barbers seem to be similar in this regard. Because of all these reasons, I'll definitely be coming here for some time to come read more

We came to this shop excited that it was open late because most shops close early, but we were extremely disappointed with the service. NOWHERE on their website does it say that it is appointments only..the least they could have done is be polite about it. As soon as my husband walked in there, they rudely asked if he had an appointment and he said no, so they said APPOINMENTS ONLY! He asked if there was anyway to take him. It was late and I really don't think they had appointments at 11 p.m, so not only did we waste our time getting there, but they lost us as customers and probably everyone else we would have recommended. read more
