Because the tour is small, no more than 6 passengers, we were able to follow dolphins and other aquatic animals for most of the 2 hours. We also saw the inlet. The captain was very knowledgeable about all of the animals we encountered and was able to give history to the area and its development and ecology. He was also very safety minded, which I appreciated.

Although, the fish were few & far in between, this past trip, due to cold water on the bottom, Captain Scotty moved the boat a few times to give his customers the best chance possible to catch a fish. The captain and his mates are always very welcoming and friendly. They're attentive at all times which was especially helpful being I had minimal experience previously. Whether you catch a fish, or not, it's always a pleasurable experience.

While anchoring, a strong current caused the anchor line to become caught in the engine. We immediately contacted Salty's, and a staff member came out and instructed us to cut the line, which we did. After returning, our card was charged $331 for an anchor replacement without prior authorization. I understand the need to recover costs when equipment is damaged; however, charging full retail replacement pricing -- especially at an inflated rate -- does not feel fair or standard. Replacement charges are typically based on actual cost, not retail markup. As a local resident familiar with purchasing and pricing, this was disappointing, especially since we followed staff instructions and acted in good faith. This review reflects our honest experience. If Salty's is willing to adjust the anchor charge to a fair amount based on true replacement cost, I would welcome that conversation. Until then, this experience has unfortunately changed how we feel about returning. In addition, while I appreciate that additional items were not charged, fairness is based on what was charged, not what wasn't. Referencing potential or hypothetical damages does not change the concern around the pricing applied. I stand by my review as written, as it accurately reflects my experience.

There was a swell coming in from a distant storm but the day was amazing. The fish weren't active but the captain and crew were always going looking for the fish. I could not be happier with the charter. The boat was solid and spacious. The ride was smooth and the captain was a living map of the sea. Boats are well maintained and we usually are able to get a boat we want. Only con is not having direct access to restrooms. I think as a boat club member you should have your own key to the restroom instead of having to use restaurant restrooms and someone should always be in the office to address any concerns/issues. I was told the keys are only for marina membership owners so if they operate the boat club out of the marina we should be allowed the same access.
