Good:103 year old historic theater. Bad: The policy of 8x10 purse size is ridiculous. The seats are…read morethe most uncomfortable. Absolutely no leg room. Wooden church pews would have been better.

My 5-star review is based on how management handled our not-so-pleasant experience. Let me first…read moresay, that the theater itself is beautiful. The management staff...top-notch! But the crowd on the night we attended is what ruined our evening. I had purchased tickets for my daughter, her boyfriend & I for her birthday to attend the Whose Live Anyway show on my recently deceased husband's birthday (3/17). He was born in Ft. Pierce so we thought it would be a nice way to honor him, especially so soon after losing him (he passed 2 months prior). I was trying to make a very sad day a little better for my daughter. Now, it does not escape me that we attended on St. Patrick's Day; a holiday known for celebration. However, "spirited" holidays should not give people just cause to ruin other peoples' nights. We were seated in the balcony section in the second row. The only negative aspect at that point was the railing along the balcony. If you're short like me, it can obstruct your view a bit, but nothing to ruin your night. What ruined it, were the drunk patrons in the two rows behind us. Immediately upon sitting down, both parties were loud & obnoxious, but we had hopes that they would quiet down once the show started. They did not! They all continued talking, booing the participants & trying to heckle the performers. Now when I say they were talking so loudly that I was having difficulty hearing the performers, it's no exaggeration! The usher in that section also asked them to be respectful of others but they ignored him. After asking them a number of times to please quiet down, I was called a "b**ch" by one of them & got nothing but nastiness from another. By this point, about an hour into the show, I had had enough because I could tell my daughter was not enjoying herself. I walked out. I asked a different usher who I could complain to & was directed to another staff member. I explained to her the situation & apologized to her for MY attitude as I was extremely angry by that point. She offered to speak to the patrons but by then my daughter & her boyfriend were exiting, not wanting to stay. The staff member took us to another who, about 3 other staff members later, had a member of management speak to us. She apologized for the unpleasantness of the evening & said if we were willing to stay, she could seat us in "house seats". So, we took her up on the offer & were seated in about the 10th row center (on the floor) for the remainder of the show. It was nice that they were willing to try to make the rest of our night enjoyable, but to be honest, by then it was ruined. About a week later, I received a survey via email. I honestly didn't think staff even read those things, but thought, why not?! After completing the survey & explaining what had happened, I thought that would be the end of it. I was pleasantly surprised when I was contacted a day or two later by the Asst. Box Office & Front House Mgr, Savannah. She not only apologized again for what happened but offered to make it better "in some small way" with tickets to an upcoming show or a refund. I was blown away! I could not believe they would be so willing to make such a generous offer. Unfortunately, there weren't any upcoming shows that we cared to see, so I opted for the refund. Within 5 minutes of my reply email requesting the refund, Savannah wrote back to say it had been processed. I was so impressed by this & with the theater staff! It goes to show that there are good people at class-act venues who are willing to go above & beyond to make your night out worthy of a good memory, not just an unpleasant one! We will definitely attend shows in the future in hopes of being seated among more considerate patrons so that we'll have a much better experience.
