The owner Morgan said she had one she felt was all 3 of the dresses I liked combined. She went to the back of the store to grab one that had already been halfway paid off but the bride canceled and didn't pick it up. I ended up with my dream dress she pulled from the back room for $500! You heard me $500! Morgan is the most professional, generous, kind and genuine bridal consultant I've dealt with. I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE I KNOW! literally in tears because of Morgan's keen eye and ability to understand my style, I got my dream dress!!

When I bought my dress, I was thrilled to win a "free honeymoon" promotion that Formalities was…read moreoffering in-partnership with Marketing Concepts. After filling out the paperwork and sending a check deposit, as requested, I worked with a representative to book an all-inclusive trip to Puerto Vallarta for $2,435.84, which I paid in full. Three days before leaving for our honeymoon, I had a bad feeling about the whole thing. This led me to calling the resort to confirm our reservation -- which thank goodness I did -- because we discovered that the whole trip was a scam and the travel agent had stolen our money. The representative not only stated this was a case of fraud, but admitted it had been happening for months to other clients from the company. This left us without our dream honeymoon and out $1,500 in nonrefundable airfare, on top of the money paid for the trip. I notified Tracina Fisher, the owner of Formalities, in hopes of preventing this from happening to other brides. While she initially expressed sympathy and asked how she and Peter Hayes (the Marketing Concepts Representative) could help, their tone quickly changed. When I asked if their companies could help recoup the $1,500 we lost--considering this situation never would have occurred without their promotion--they became extremely rude and blamed me instead of taking accountability for putting their customer through this situation. It's devastating to lose our dream honeymoon to fraud and even worse to feel abandoned by the businesses we trusted. While we are dealing with this issue with both federal and state authorities, I strongly urge anyone considering this store or promotion to proceed with caution. This experience has caused immense financial and emotional distress, and I hope it prevents others from suffering the same.

Her shop is so quaint and cozy. It isn't huge but that is what makes the experiance so special. I was the last appointment of the day, so it was just myself, parents, and Shannon. She spent time pulling dresses before I arrived based on what I sent her in an email. While trying on the dresses she listened to everything I liked and didn't like about each dress and ended up selecting the "one" based on that. It was the final dress I tried on and I knew it was it. She showed different ways I could change it by adding straps, ect, but the dress was perfect as is! She has alterations in house as well and my alteration appointment was also great. Her alterations guy is amazing and did the perfect job on my dress! I reccomend anyone to stop here for a dress appointment, it will be an amazing experiance!

It's a smallish shop, but they have a lot of inventory, including larger sizes. (A bane of most brides' existence, especially if you're over a street size 14.) Kim and her staff made me feel like a queen every time I came in! It was a bit of a drive for me because I live in Pittsburgh, but it was well worth it. Thanks, Kim!

Giving one star because 0 is not an option…read more This is a review for Kimberly James bridal but of course it's not pulling as a business on Yelp. Although the purchasing and several options were great, the overall experience was NOT appropriate. The owner managed to make inappropriate body comments for not only the bridal party but also the bride. What the heck? In what world is it okay to make comments about a stranger let alone your most important money maker - THE BRIDE. Getting ahold of the owner/having calls answered and returned was stressful and a hassle. We are in Small town PA, not LA or NY you can answer the damn phone, there isn't a line waiting to get in. Alterations that are almost always needed and should not be shouted throughout the store. This group had average size girls and petite girls. No matter what end over or underweight comments are not welcomed. The owners side stories talking down about her other brides/clients were also inappropriate. Talking about how the bride doesn't want to come for her fitting because she doesn't think the girl lost the weight she wanted to. My guess is the bride is trying to find a backup seamstress to get this lady off her back. The dresses looked great at the wedding however you can get great dresses everywhere, but you can't get great customer service everywhere and I can guarantee none of us will be returning. We also have advised other potential brides away from this location. Every body type, age, color is beautiful. Find somewhere who will appreciate your uniqueness and make what is one of the most exciting pieces of planning your wedding day just that - EXCITING!

I purchased my wedding gown from Beverly and was provided with personable and down-to-earth…read moreservice. As I had already been to many bridal shops I knew exactly what dress I was looking for and called Beverly to see if she had the dress available to try on. To my surprise (I had called several shops within the State College radius) she had just received the dress in from the designer and made an appointment with me. My family and friends lived across the country from me so when I arrived to Beverly's shop it was just me. Beverly graciously helped me try on the gown, gave me an honest opinion and made me feel like family. In addition, Beverly saved me and my friend quite a bit of money. I was worried about the cost of shipping the dress home for the wedding so I called a bridal location (Charlottes Weddings & More) closer to home where I had previously tried gowns on. I explained the situation to an associate and let them know of the gown and size I wanted. They quoted me $250 more for the gown than Beverly had quoted me. I recommended Beverly's Touch of Class to a friend as she had a similar situation in which she knew her dress and size desired. Beverly also gave her a price that was less than the price quoted by Diamonds & Lace in State College where she tried the gown on. If you're looking for a low key and causal experience to try on dresses, Beverly's Touch of Class is worth the drive. Give back to small businesses like Beverly when you can, the experience will be a wonderful memory.
