Back in the area for business…read more Making a reservation was easy and when I got here, it was confirmed that the lady on the phone left detailed notes for anyone after her because of an exemption they give with certain employers on room rates. The issue though was that the elevator was out of use (ended up finding out it was caused by a bad capacitor caused by a lightning strike, a maintenance individual coming in to replace it and not doing it, and then an emergency switch catastrophic failure), but this was disclosed as I was making my reservation on the phone. I was able to get a king suite (picture 39 of 63 on this Yelp entry) just because the rest of the rooms were sold out on the first floor. From my last review, one item I never elaborated on was the cable. Yes, this hotel does have History, Discovery, and Travel channels. In fact, I think they maxed out the tiers on whomever their cable provider is. 10/14/2025 GEEZUS! They are innovative with their breakfast?! I went down to find either country fried steak or a chicken patty along with sausage patties and hash browns in the breakfast area. Whatever it was, it was so good (the meat inside was white, so probably chicken). This is definitely a nice change from just having sausage or bacon like at other hotels I have stayed at. By introducing a meat with breading, it is further enhanced by the sausage gravy that this hotel serves for its biscuits and gravy! One could even make waffles and you get? Chicken and waffles! Suggestion: If the owner of this hotel reads this review, consider putting out cold cut salami or ham slices and a cheese plate. Apparently, all the top tier hotels in Europe do that. 10/15 The breakfast was still the same, with all the same meats, baked goods, etc. I ended up getting a waffle and trying it with the chicken patty and it was great. CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Good with syrup and ketchup as well. The only issue with dining was just that this hotel does not keep any caffeinated and decaffeinated teas. All in all, it was a good stay. The wall had a huge hole in it that they attempted to patch. The bathroom smelled like mildew. The shower curtain had mold on it. The outlets were coming out of the walls. We appreciated the hotel providing the first floor for my disabled wife. We did NOT appreciate the 7am construction RIGHT outside our window and RIGHT in the blocked EV charging lot. I chose this hotel and paid extra specifically because there was an EV charger. This place only has two, and blocking one is not cool. Starting construction outside my room while I have a disability that doesn't handle that isn't cool (that's not cool at ANY hotel). The digger was also perilously close to my car. A minor complaint - there were supposed to be two water bottle in our room. There weren't. The room was SIXTY degrees. I have brand loyalty to a fault. Once you piss me off, I have no reason to trust you again. You pissed me off. And at twice the price. Oh Hampton Inn...I remember paying extra for you twenty years ago and feeling good about it. Not ever. Not ever again. I can't say this forcefully enough. I stay in a lot of hotels, and I like to support companies that do well. You have left this support. While I appreciate accommodating my wife's disability by putting us in the first floor, my own disability (and probably every other human) can't tolerate construction sounds at 7am just outside their windows. I'm embarrassed for this hotel. Gross. My family and I will use our money more selectively in the future.

After all, hotels and motels refer to their customers as guests, and the front desk staff should reflect that attitude. When we arrived, the front desk employee was on the phone. He didn't even look up to acknowledge us or offer a simple greeting. Instead, we stood there waiting while he finished his conversation at his own pace before finally attending to us. The room itself was another disappointment. It felt very damp and had a musty, moldy smell. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, which likely contributed to the moisture problem. The bed linens and covers did not feel freshly washed or clean. Fortunately, I always travel with my own throw blanket and pillow, so I ended up using those instead. Overall, the stay was uncomfortable and the customer service fell short of what I expect from a hotel brand like Hampton Inn. I would not choose to stay here again unless there were no other available options
