I've been going here for I A WHILE. maybe 11-12 years. It has never been good. in the past i've been touched randomly for NO reason (my body) there's been random comments. I called to schedule an appointment for a refill, and the receptionist told me the earliest available slot was in the next month. I was frustrated by the long wait but managed the pain for that time. Today, I went to the appointment, only to be told they couldn't find my information and that no appointment was booked in my name. The receptionist then mentioned they couldn't do a refill without a cleaning first. I explained that I still needed to keep the appointment, but she dismissively told me she couldn't accommodate me today. Overall, it was an awful experience. Going to this dentistry was a mistake, the staff does not take proper care of their patients and aren't sanitary at all. Not only is the service bad but the wait time is extremely long, I've had to wait at least half an hour for many appointments and the most I've had to wait is about and hour and a half. This dentistry should have been closed a long time ago, especially considering the awful reviews. Unfortunately, one of my kids is stuck in this dentistry as we paid for the treatment for braces. No matter how many times we attempted to switch him over to a much better dentistry, Pine Dentistry wouldn't return our money nor would they allow us to switch to another dentistry. I've been coming here since this place was called 'Kool smiles'. I was warned by my husband to not go back as they are shady. They have in the past tried to trick me into pulling my kids wiggly teeth to collect the insurance money. One day my 11 year old came for a braces consult and they said she'll get her braces as soon as the dentist pulls the loose tooth in the back. So we head to the room and I confirm with the dentist that she's getting her braces on after and she says no absolutely not. I don't do that. She will have to come back for that or make a consult appointment. I was in shock. They tricked me into letting them pull her tooth for no reason. Needless to say we didn't end up doing that and left. Fast forward to 2021. My daughter chipped her front tooth. We go the very next day to get it checked out. The dentist in the room with her says she needs a root canal and he can go ahead and take care of it next week. The dentist assistant ( whose in the same room as him) tells me that actually she recommends someone else to do it. And this person doesn't come in until next month. I said ok. We go to the front desk to schedule & I ask about the dentist who said he could do it next week and why we can't book with him. She said ' they don't trust him and they recommend the other guy who comes once a month but if I wanted to take the risk I can go ahead and schedule with him for next week '..... WHY THE HELL DO YOU HIRE SOMEONE TO WORK ON CHILDREN AND DONT TRUST HIM!??? Whatever. Day of appointment comes and we arrive on time at 9am. I have baby and two kids with me. Front desk clerk asks if I by chance cancelled the appointment because he can't find it. I show him my confirmation email and text message. He says 'oh just have a seat. We'll take you shortly.' 2 hours go by and the waiting room is now empty and we still don't get taken. I asked him if they gave our appointment away to someone else. He insist they didn't. I ask him why the wait is 2 hours. He insist they're just running behind. I ask him how long this procedure usually lasts he says 2 hours. Obviously at this point I realize he lies, they gave my appointment away , I don't know why , and they make me wait in the waiting room for 2+ hours until the dentist is done with current client. After 3 hours we finally get seen. At this point I need to get a bottle of milk for my baby because we are supposed to be done at this point but are just starting. The 'manager' says I am not allowed to leave property or else they will cancel the procedure.... wtf After having waited 3 hours I obviously Didn't want that so I told her we'd thoughen it out. She looks at me weird and proceeds to take my daughter to start the 2 hour procedure. Front desk clerk approaches me in waiting area ' just an FYI it's only 30min. Not 2 hours'. I ask why she says ' idk they told me to tell you' She comes out after 10mins. Turns out she didn't need a root canal after all. We didn't need to wait for a month for a specialist. She just needed a crown. A 10 min procedure... I'm at loss of words. My husband did warn me but ofc I don't listen. Don't go here. You've been warned. read more

This place needs some people who actually care about the patients & not just another check. This isnt the first or second time they forget to give us sign in papers, which just ends up making us wait , the apt was at 10 & decided to just walk out after 11. Most offices would call after the first 10 min to verify if you will be coming. This place seems slow in every way. read more

This place is straight ass, when I get there ahead of time they take 2 hours to attend my kids. Today I arrived at the exact time of appointment and decided to cancel for no reason, saying I was late when I checked in at the front door. They are pathetic and very insulting over the phone. I tried to state how I had my kids in school still and they said well they can miss the class. It isn't that easy, the front desk people are rude. I've been going to that place since it was "Kools smile". I'll be going to merrifield dentistry, they have almost 5 stars compared to these mediocre 1.5 stars. read more

Professional staff that is thorough when checking for cavities. Conveniently located near a bus stop for those who take public transportation. They are following COVID protocols and sanitizing thoroughly between patients. All appointments are booked for at least an hour so that they don't rush through treatment. read more

Do not go to this place !!! I took my little daughter (5 years old)there for first time check up. The nurse tried to take X.Ray for my kid. She did a worse job, hurting my kid , pushing my daughter jaws , being mean and not professional at all . My daughter was crying so much , feeling pain in her mouth. After all that, they tried to clean her teeth but we dont let them hurting my little one again, we walked away. Pros: most of the staff have great bedside manners. I like the open concept for the kids teeth cleaning. They have an indoor playground in the waiting area. Cons: wait times can be absolutely ridiculous for a dental office. Over an hour and a half on occasions. I went to this place with my one year old and the main dentist came in with an attitude and didn't even introduced himself he grab my kid and was super rough with him and after that he left with out any information or anything. If your appointment is at 8 expect to leave at 10 or after. I've never had my kids go in and come out within an hour, even if it's a routine checkup. Some doctors are great with kids some just come in and do the work and that's it. Their assistants seem clueless sometimes and sometimes they are running around trying to start the laughing gas machines and get everything in order when you've been waiting 45 mins in the room waiting for the doc to come in. I've used them since my kids were 2 when it was Kool Smiles but I think it's time for me to move on somewhere else, since their service has just declined. It took me 5 hours 10+ calls and 2 emails to get a hold of someone at the office to schedule an emergency appointment. That's just unacceptable! read more

This place is a joke!!! Arrived 6 minutes after my appointment time, waited 30minutes to be called to the front desk only to be told that my kids could not be seen secondary to late arrival. Mind you, when you arrive on time, THEY are never running on schedule and you are expected to wait 1-1.5 hours to be seen and there is ALWAYS an excuse. Don't waste your time scheduling an appointment here, this place is like a circus full of clowns !!!! If zero stars would be an option, that's what I would give them. The staff is unprofessional, disrespectful, and insensitive. We are a military family with 4 children between the ages of 4 and 8. My wife took them for their 6-month cleaning as we have in the past. The dentist told my wife to leave our children in the wait area, unattended while she discussed the standard health information about my children with her. My wife asked the dentist if she could leave the door open so she can watch our children while answering the questions, and the doctor said "no, because the conversation is confidential" lol... if anybody needs to be concern is my wife and she wasn't! because watching our very young children is more important than disclosing how often our children brush their teeth or sharing a medical condition that thankfully they don't have nor was reported in the pile of papers you have to fill. This just show their lack of common sense and stupidity. On top of that, and once my wife was with our children, the medical professional (cause we now highly doubt she was a dentist), she started asking my wife questions about my children in front of them -- and my oldest kid who for good or bad is very intelligent elected to answer himself. The lady (dropping the "professional" adjective too) told my kid "I'm talking to the adult, not you"... seriously? My wife could tell this person doesn't have children or civil manners. Why are you attending children then? yup, cause you do it just for the $. THEN, the other staff member could not pronounce or read our last name, which is Spanish... so she turned to the other staff member and started mocking or last name while my wife and children were watching and listening... needless and sad to say, the staff members were also minorities. Bottom line, Pine Destintry in Falls Church is terrible because their staff lacks customer service skills and civil manners. We will no longer visit this place and highly recommend not spending your money for the poor service you will get. read more

If it's possible to give this place fewer than 1 star, I would. If you think Kool Smiles was bad, this place has gotten much worse. I decided to give the place a try after they changed into Pine Dentistry. It was horrible. If you value your time, don't go there. They ask you to come 15 minutes before the appointment to fill out information like your pharmacy and primary care doctor that you've already given them multiple times. Even after filling everything out way before your appointment time, you'd still be waiting 20 minutes past your time. Don't expect things to improve after they called you inside, either. They have 6 chairs in the room for a reason. It's to give you the false sense that you're finally going to get the service you came here for. Inside you play more of the waiting game. There's only one hygienist and it takes forever to get your turn. You wait for one step, then you wait more for another step only to wait yet again for the third step. The only good thing I can say about this place is, the hygienist, Eva, was wonderful with my kids. She was patient and despite the workload that was piled on her, she was thorough and nice. I can't say the same about a male dental assistant (wearing deep blue scrubs) there. He doesn't seem to understand when I told him that my son was Special Needs. He was impatient and abrupt with my son when taking an X-ray. After several attempts with my son gagging every time, I had to tell him to stop. He was the worst staff member I've ever seen in that place. Awful person. The dentist was no different. I was standing right by my daughter when she was working on her. She never bothered to give me any feedback. She got off the chair to go over to see the X-rays across the room. I thought she'd come back to give me feedback but instead, she told a dental assistant to come over and tell me that she was done and there were no cavities. Not a single word was passed over to me directly. To sum it up, it took us nearly 3 hours for a simple routine cleaning. Again, if you think Kool Smiles was bad, Pine Dentistry is way worse. I thought things would be better since the change from Kool Smiles which was the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! So just changing the name doesn't make it better by far!!! The place was not crowded surprisingly so we thought we would be in and out but with only 1 hygienist cleaning we had to wait after being skipped because my child went to bathroom. So we sat unil I had enough of waiting and as we got up to leave we were then acknowledged. Then out of no where another hygienist appeared to assist another patient. Where was she while WE were waiting????? So now fast forward - we're ALL sitting and waiting for the doctor to show his or her face so we can get results of our children's check ups and leave.
