This is a charming bowling alley in the small town of Helper. You can't miss it-it's right along…read morethe main street. The facilities are a bit dated and could probably tell some jaw-dropping stories, as most of the buildings in the area would-if they could talk. If you're looking for a laid back, fun night of bowling, this is a great place. If you take your game seriously-be prepared for some oddities in the scoring (my son earned a spare when he actually threw a gutter ball, for example). Regardless, most of the patrons I saw were families or teens-not likely too worried about the accuracy of the scoring. In the front entrance area there are a few arcade games. I'll bet there is a heavy dose of nostalgia in those games-as most of them look to have been in there awhile. You can enjoy a small meal and even an adult beverage here. The service is also wonderful-just what you'd expect in a small town. One of the employees noticed that the ball my son was using might not have been the right weight for him and brought him a different one. I'm not sure if it impacted his game at all, but I appreciate them looking out for him anyway!

Walked in because our usual place was packed with kids for a party. No lanes available for a couple…read morehours. So I tried to enter our names in, and couldn't figure it out. So I went and asked the guy behind the counter how to do it. And he starts talking to me like I'm a complete idiot and mentally slow. But I decided to let it slide that time. Maybe he was having a bad day. So we started bowling and halfway through our first game, my ball got stuck. Happens at times. But just roll another ball and that fixes the issue. Well no it didn't. So we went back to me grumpy, and still had an attitude. Blamed us for getting our ball stuck. (Full grown guy in his 40s or 50s) threw a tantrum as he went to fix the issue. Asked the guy if we did something to piss him off. Ignored us and kept walking. Then goes and shuts our lane off without us finishing our game. Kept calling out to the guy . Kept ignoring us. We told him we want our money back since we had to prepay for our games. He says "fuck no" and goes in the back. Since the owner didn't even want to return our money, we decided to get the sheriff's office on the phone. They said they'd send a deputy. At that point, he knew we weren't joking and refunded us. Only problem, only refunded us for 2 of our three games. Didn't even get to finish our first game. Nice.... Ended up going back to our usual spot to wait for the lanes to open up. On a different note, I've been told by other people who don't even work there that this place is horrible. They have no rules. So they let kids and people run down their lanes.( Judging by the condition of the lanes, I'd say it's true. They aren't even smooth) I wouldn't be surprised if someone got hurt before and sued this place. I'm baffled how a place like this remains in business.

It seems that this is where the locals go and if you know anything about small town folk, you understand that when new people walk into their space, they check you out. I've never felt so many sets of eyes on me when I walked into a public space. Oh well, that's to be expected in small towns. Hi ya'll!! The entire place was being managed by one server. This one individual lady was running back and forth, checking on tables, refilling coffee and bringing out orders. It was impressive to see her work. The food was pretty good-especially for the ridiculously low price. For real, I've paid more for McDonald's breakfast. I'm not complaining! Next time I'm in town and want to throw the bowling ball while also enjoying eggs and bacon, I know where I'm going.

Do not get me wrong, the vibe is super old school and we love that. Has rustic vibes. That's good stuff. But when you have a town with a population of maybe 16K, with nothing to do on a Friday night, you'll get allot of younger people here that are not the nicest. Lot of foul language, loudness. Would have had more fun in an actual bar. If you got social anxiety like we do, avoid this place. Also, if you aren't part of the age group, you'll likely get called unc. So yeah.
