Over a month ago, my son, had a tattoo done at Raven Skin…read more
It was a surprise gift and a medium to large piece.
I have had a lot of experience with amazing artists from all over the world, so has he, I would have personally checked this place, but I did not know anything about this surprise and no chance to do so.
To say that I am beyond shocked and disappointed, would be an understatement.
He was there for almost 5 hours, the tattoo was done under numbing spray, a long session, with lots of scarring. The poor work is absolutely the least of my concerns, and it was very poor. I am leaving this review to warn others and because the shop itself, has shown no concern to address this issue at all. Not even an email to ask about my son's recovery, after I gave them all details.
My son ended up in the ER department, 48 hours after almost going into septic shock.
He had done the usual routines of cleaning and care for tattoos, one of his observations was that the place was going through a refurbish. Which I find shocking, that they would not close, when a tattoo shop should be a clean and sterile environment at all times.
He called me disoriented, he had no idea what day it was, what he had done the last hours, and he had a hard time putting sentences together. I live 3 hours away from him, I called him a taxi to take him to hospital and rushed to meet him there.
They took him in immediately, when they realised this was an emergency. The doctor I spoke to when I arrived there, told me just a few more hours and the story would have been very different. I could have lost him.
I contacted the shop several times, nobody replied to me at all. They had nothing to say about it.
My son, if he waited any longer, could have died. He spent over a week in the hospital, while doctors were closely watching him. In danger of either losing parts of his leg, or having the blood infection spread further and then they could not have done anything for him.
We are beyond blessed to know that he was able to recover, leg is ruined, and it will never be the same. He had to go to hospital for 14 days after being discharged, he then received antibiotics daily, through IV, was not able to return to work or sports.
He had to use crutches and was incapacitated for the entire time.
This is no joke, the artists in tattoo shops should understand the responsibility they have.
There is a reason why you should go to a reputable artist, that can back up the work with excellent ethics.
Please beware and do your homework, it is not worth getting an infection that can take your life, just to save a few pounds.
