I did a lot of research before deciding on this shop. A LOT…read more Mind, this was not my first tattoo. Not even my second. This was my fourth - it just happened to be my first tattoo done by someone other than my regular US guy, Guf. But I knew that if I was getting a tattoo on this trip, it was going to have to be done in London, for the meaning of it all. As I say, I did a lot of research. I corresponded with several shops via e-mail, since we weren't in the UK at the time. The tattoos that we wanted were fairly simple - a band logo, all black, and nothing special or crazy to be done with them. I even sent the shops jpeg copies of the image we wanted, just so they knew. We decided on Diamond Jacks for a few reasons, and planned our one Saturday in London around being at the shop right when they opened, and staying for as long as it'd take to do two small-ish tattoos. We showed up right at 11 am, but the shop was closed up tight. Undeterred, we did a couple quick laps around the neighborhood (kind of sketchy, if you're easily scared off), and the next time we stopped by, the door was open. Up the stairs we went to talk with the first person we came into contact with. We discussed everything we wanted, and he said he could have someone do it that day, but that he had an appointment already. They had us sit down to fill out some paperwork, and I handed over a high quality hard copy of the image in question. Not long afterwards, they came to get us. We were taken upstairs to have our tattoos done at the same-ish time - and I think they were brothers. We never got their names, which kind of annoys me (they didn't introduce themselves, and I didn't think to ask till it was too late), but they were quick and efficient. My version is on my forearm, and is quite small, compared to my husbands (which is on his calf). They went through the whole speech about care and placement and all that, and my guy seemed a bit shocked when I told him that this is my fourth tattoo. I think he may have thought I was fibbing, but I was more than willing to bust out two of the three, at least, to prove it to him. At any rate, he quickly placed the stencil and got me set up, and before I knew it, he was going to town with the needle. It was quick and painless - for both of us - and we were in and out before the hour was up. It was kind of pricey for two small-ish tattoos, but I can't begrudge them that. Overall I'm happy with my tattoo. It looks how I want it to look, and it's not nearly as in-your-face as I was afraid it'd be (all my other tattoos are bright and colorful and cheery, whereas this one is all black). I'm glad we went, and I'm glad we have this permanent reminder of our epic European vacation.

I decided to walk over to Flamin'Eight because the reviews talked about how sanitary it is and how nice the people were. This shop definitely lived up to those reviews. After walking in with just a photo of what I wanted I talked to Kayne, who had a cancellation, and he said he could fit me in that day! It was awesome I came back in an hour to see the sketch he drawn up and it was more than I hoped for. This place is seriously special, while I was getting tattooed other artists were working and they all were so nice to talk to. Sonia especially was awesome to talk to, she even let me borrow her skirt because my pants couldn't role up. If you need a tattoo with reasonable pricing, a sanitary environment, and genuine people look no farther because Flamin'Eight is the place.

Woke up quick right about noon, I knew I had to be in Camden soon…read more On a trip to London besides getting my passport stamped, I also wanted to get stamped. So a tattoo in Camden Town was a must. After a few emails sent out to different shops, "Hell To Pay" got back to us quickly and professionally. We were able to set up a appointment with a £50 deposit (that goes to the final price of the work) worked out perfect because they were all booked for the day. Clean place and everyone was real cool. I was happy with the results. They made us feel welcome. The work they do is real good. I believe they have Instagram, so check it out for yourself. If ever I'm back in London I'll make sure to visit them again. To all you at "Hell To Pay" thank you very much!

I was relieved to find a chill, friendly vibe at East Side Tattoo. It wasn't my first tattoo, but if I think this would be a good place for first timers as well. I knew exactly what I wanted, and the receptionist/artist/guy was kind enough to search the design I wanted on Google images and print it off for me. I wanted a slight change, and after only a few minutes, the tattooist made the change I wanted and it looked AWESOME. He was friendly during the whole tattoo, which I really appreciated. I got my first tattoo with a guy who was such an ass and I wanted to be sure to avoid any thing like that. I was very happy with my tattoo and with the service here, would totally come back. Highly recommend, I have no complaints.

DON'T GO HERE FOR PIERCINGS! NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE!…read more I had my septum pierced here a few months ago she completely botched it and pierced it too far back in the cartilage. Firstly when she put the needle in my nose she then realised she couldn't use the ring she'd chosen so made me choose another one while the needle was still in my nose! I thought something was wrong that evening so I went for a second opinion the next day and they told me to take it out immediately as it was dangerous. The Ink Parlour refused to accept responsibility and would not give a refund and started ignoring my calls and emails.. Disgusting treatment! Do not get pierced here. The studio itself is spacious, an extensive range of jewellery to look at for any type of piercing you could imagine and a whole load of tattoos to gawp at while you wait to be called in. Relaxed vibes, metal music, comfy sofas = win. Piercings are done in a room at the back of the shop. Everything very clean, sanitary and the piercer will talk you through the procedure step by step as she's doing it. She's a pretty cool chick as well might I add. Prices are pretty good. I got my scaffold/industrial done on Monday all for the bargin price of £30 which includes the piercing, 2 hoops and the scaffold bar they'll put in for me when it's healed.
