some of these staff members are questionable I remember yesterday i was on the computer at student life studying for my test and i needed to print out some study material but i had to relinquish the computer i was using twice just for someone else to print something i been at pima since 2023 and i never had anything happen like that and it upset me but instead of over reacting causing a scene i just decided to study at the library i dont get why i gotta suffer due to other peoples insecurities its not my fault and as far as computers go it is first come first serve want to print something out and use the computer gotta wait until one opens up read more

The financial aid here is pretty strange! Classes start at random dates so if your financial aid isn't complete, you will be dropped from the courses you sign up for. My financial aid was finally approved. I am being charged now for 3 classes that started on 8/26 1 class that starts on 9/11 and two that start in October. Pima disburses your financial aid by start date, to ensure you're attending and completing your classes. The aid that is OVER my tuition costs that most students use for books, computer, etc. will not be dispursed until the very last minute now and the early purchase book program is a f g NIGHTMARE. If I am being CHARGED for the class right now, I want the money I was approved for right now. Otherwise, there's a balance I can't take care of until my late classes start. Which means I have no federal aid to pay for the books I NEED NOW. BOO PIMA!!!!! read more

I had a great advisor and some good instructors, but the bulk of the school stinks. They don't care for older students, and try to put their lack of values and everyone, without considerations of all their students. Their bookstore is severely lacking, paid for books was guaranteed that they would buy back one was extremely expensive, they offered me $2 back I lost over $70 if I did that, now I'm stuck with books I would have never bought if I wasn't guaranteed the buy back, and no one else wants them I can't sell them anywhere else. Lack of ethics, lack of integrity, lack of a moral compass. Would never recommend this school ever again. read more

Pima Community College really is a good school. They have so many programs to choose from, and it's easy to navigate. I'm at pima before I can transfer to the U of A. I wish I could complete my bachelor's degree at Pima, I totally would. The only problem I have with the school is some of the teachers. Some teachers are amazing and helpful, while others are not... but I guess that's the same at any school you go to. read more

I was accepted into an Undergraduate program with my ACT scores. Later on, I was accepted into into an MBA then an M.Ed program with my GRE scores. I had changed careers and wanted to take additional courses in the field. I applied to Pima Community College and I had to take a college introductory course along with basic reading, writing and math. In addition, I asked a teacher why my grades were not showing up online eventhough the assignments were completed. His very unprofessional response was "Maybe if you were not rude, I would tell you." At PIma asking a direct question is considered rude. I was a teacher for quite a while. You do not respond in that manner when a student is asking a question. After my querie, we get an email from the teacher indicating he was updating the grades. If you want to change careers, go to a university, not Pima. Pima may be the right choice for you if you think you need an introductory class on how to study, take notes, and manage your time etc. along with basic curriculum classes. read more

I am taxpayer who unwilling is forced to pay taxes for college this who accepts/accepted people with a 7th grade education for classes. When I told them PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME ANYTHING IN THE MAIL. What do I get in the mail? At a cost of $1.70 in postage plus colorful brochures and leaflets and an application to attend PCC! HOW IGNORANT ARE THEY? I WOULD NATURALLY HAVE TO ASSUME THEY ARE SO IGNORANT, THEY WOULD BE CONSIDRED IMBECILES (IQ of 25 to 50). If you want to attend this school and get your degree to become an IMBECILE, sign right up! My unwanted application is now in the recycle bin waiting to be shipped to China (really, that's what the City of Tucson does with it). And do try to figure out how you are going to pay for the lousy education you will get. read more

Pima Community College is run by students. My fiance is trying so hard to get an education. He works a full time job while applying here and doing everything they have asked him to do. But they just play games. He could of applied to a million other schools by now. We are trying to move to Arizona and it's been difficult because he can't get into a school because financial aid denies him because 17 years ago he never registered for selective service. They ask him the most stupidest questions....why weren't looking looking in windows or listening to the radios. It's like leave him alone. He had a messed up childhood. It was 17 years ago. Why don't they ask themselves this.....wow a 36 year old wants to get his degree. That's amazing.....he's trying to turn his life around. So instead of stopping him....give him the damn reward letter and let him go to school on January 17th 2019. People are so ignorant sometimes. read more

As far as community colleges go this is a pretty good one. My experience with teachers have been mostly pleasant. The advisers/front desk people tend to tell you different things depending on what day you ask, which campus you're at and what their mood ring says so its important to verify important info. Overall a good place for certificate programs, pre-reqs or "just for fun" learning read more

I have been going here for about 2 years now and I gotta say it's not bad haha I went to one other community college in other state. The price isn't bad, but I have to say, the teachers I've had aren't the greatest. I have had a couple really great ones, but overall, I think they need to improve the staff. The cafeteria is kind of a joke now. They need REAL food there, not pre made food from outside venders that cost WAY to much for college students. My last college had at least a subway in it. FRESH food. This is turning into a quite negative review, but I have to say, overall it isn't bad. Way cheaper than UofA, to get my associates. But if they would listen to their students more, I feel like this place could be so much better. read more

I have nothing but good words for the teacher, Mays Amid. Too bad other reviews are not good for other teachers. Don't judge a college by a few bad teachers. I have nothing but good raves for the teachers whom I had in recent years. I took calculus, French, and genetics, and received good grades for all courses. I have found out that knowing a subject does not make a teacher a good instructor. What makes a teacher good is when the teacher understands why a student does not understand and helps the student to strengthen their weakness. Being a people person is mandatory in connecting with students. Without this, the teacher is failing and should find a different career. read more

I will be starting my third year this fall at the Downtown Campus and have really enjoyed going to school here. I have also taken classes at the Desert Vista Campus, and was able to make up a required quiz spring 2016 semester at the West Campus location. I have never had any problems at any of the locations that I have been too. Staff and Instructors that I have encountered have been knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I am what is considered a "transitional" student because I am not a kid right out of HIgh school. Which is cool because I am not alone in my age group at any of the Campuses of Pima Community College. The cost for classes is reasonable and prices at the On Campus Bookstores are comparable to prices online if you absolutely have to have a new book for class and used is not an alternative. I have been especially lucky in that all of my education is covered by Fed. Pell Grant. Sometimes I have had to call the Financial Aid department and talk to someone when I have had the dreaded Red Flag! While I have encountered Customer Service that was lacking in the past. This year PCC has really turned it around. PCC has knowledgeable and competent instructors. Though if you have math anxiety issues like I do; I recommend to the Desert Vista Campus for MAT 089. Another reason that I like PCC is that I did not have to pay an application fee to the college. I was able to fill out an application online and I was accepted the same day! Math and Reading Pre-Testing is done in order to evaluate if you need to bring those skills up. The testing center is open during standard business hours. Results are given the same day so that you can schedule a meeting with an advisor for class scheduling. The locations were easily accessible to the SunTran if I had to take the bus instead of driving. read more
