Had I been in the company of a desireable man, I may have stayed for the whole weekend, but this is sadly a short stopover in a busy week. It is heaven though. My host is Judith who owns this Georgian pile, and who is exuberant, effervecent and passionate about the place. Breakfast is served in the basement kitchen and cooked on the Aga, the rooms are few but utterly individual, and in the summer the patio with a view would be a relaxing place of an evening. Not so inviting in December. Not expensive, great location and a fascinating home. I will be back if possible!

Perfect hosts who are obviously experienced and don't pester you with endless monologues about history or other nonsense, make you feel like home. No matter if you get some tea served in the afternoon, great breakfast (homegrown food - no supermarket trash!) in the morning or spend some time in the absolutely fantastic garden. I recommend the garden view room that we had. Great sight, great size! You know that you are countryside, if you hear cows, birds and maybe a bit farmwork. But hey, it's country life! Some might miss their Wi-Fi, that is not supplied - but hey! It was cool to have a few days offline and enjoy the real life. I rarely say this, but I'd chose this place again, when I come back for the next time.

Spent the evening in the small bar, cozy & warm, pool table, bigscreen tv, patio area. The larger bar/function room area is ideal for weddings and other celebrations.
