We were broke down here for 3 days. It is a very clean truck stop. The deli items were good. It seems like the employees care about doing a good job and keeping things clean and doing what they can to make deli truck stop food have flavor. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5, is there isn't a good place to seat and eat & talk to other people. Just single seats with 4 tables. These are the stationary seats attached to the table. Since we were broke down close to my sister in laws house, she came to visit us. We were able to visit outside on the tailgate of her jeep. So that's the one thing pilot needs is more room for people to get out of their cars and relax for awhile or visit and meet up. read more

Not many choices of gas out here in the middle of Kansas, but it is a good mid point that offers more than just gas 24/7. This place is well lit which is a big plus in the middle of the night. With truckers fast asleep and parked nicely lined up nearby, one would still be quick to gas up though. But if you need anything beyond gas, you're likely to find it inside. You'll find similar items here that you'd find at a convenience store from fresh fruit, drinks, cough medicine, books, snacks, hot and cold food, and even bathrooms amenities. There's even a small arcade inside should the kids wanna play games while you peruse the isles or play your hand at the slot machine. But who would leave their kids to play in there anyways? Tired and old. Dirty! Drink station is spotty and cooler drinks limited. They seem to focus on souvenirs and truck drivers.

The most disgusting place I've ever been. The floor hasn't been swept/mopped in months, the bathrooms are completely horrific. I can't believe the health department allows this place to stay open. I'm not exaggerating. It's so, so, so bad. I bathed in hand sanitizer after I left. read more

This place is D-I-R-T-Y Every time we come here it smells like DIRTY mop heads and there's piles of swept up dirt everywhere, like no one can find the dust pan. Ate once at Max's, and it was good, or I was really hungry? Was gonna eat there this morning, but the smell in the ladies room almost made me puke so...mot gonna eat here. There's a Petro on the other side of the freeway and we're heading over there. Sad location...like it has been forgotten. The restrooms need an upgrade. The previous restaurant has closed so its just an empty space that, in the words of the truck stop clerk, "needs a lot of work". The food available is lukewarm, "wonder how long that's been there" junk. The only real plus is how big the parking lot is and the ease of parking. I hope this place gets new management and a much needed facelift inside and out because it could be a great truck stop. read more

I fuel here or at the FJ on regular basis. Good selection of drinks, about 8 different coffees to choose from and a restaurant. Nothing special about the restaurant, I try to stay away from it. Overall, pretty clean bathrooms and friendly staff. read more

No restaurant on site. But to the south, just beyond the trees. Salinas best kept secret. Matties. Worth the walk.

This place has it all - restaurant where you can sit down and we saw a sign that said take it to go (It looked like they had a small buffet in there). Restrooms were clean. The store side had a large coffee bar, a good selection of to go foods and soups (assuming from the restaurant). By far the nicest place we stopped along I-70 in Kansas. read more

The people were friendly. The facility had the appearance of cleanliness, including the restrooms. However, as I was getting napkins, which happened to be near the hot dog cooker & the condiments, there were several sticky fly catchers full of flies. I appreciate they want get rid of the flies but that sight caused me not to purchase the hot dogs I was preparing to buy for my husband & myself. This has been a regular stop for us as we travel by this business frequently. After seeing this, we will not ever stop there again. There are numerous other similar businesses close by. I would suggest, if you're wanting something to eat or drink, another establishment in the area might be a better choice. read more

Why is this place never clean? Bathrooms, dirty. Lobby, dirty. Makes me gag just walking through.

Great customer service - not! after getting a shower I wanted to get a coffee and something to eat. None of the food looked appetizing, so I went to the counter to pay for coffee. Waited ten minutes holding my bags and coffee cup when I finally yelled. 'Does anyone work here?' A female came and told me I was standing at the wrong place to check out, that no one was working that side of the counter. How would I know where someone was working? There was no one working ANY side of the counter. When I paid she unable to get a receipt for some reason, so I have a feeling I paid for complaining. It's weird they weren't at the counter when it was time to check out, because there were two people standing there when I walked in making comments about the drivers as they walked in. Do not stop here! My husband and son stopped here to put gas in our car on the way from Colorado to Missouri. They charged an additional $150 on top of the cost of the gas. This was a credit card charge, not a debit charge so there's no reason to hold an additional amount. Our credit card company said the charge will drop off after a couple of days, but we will never stop there again and I'll tell everyone I know about this. read more
