The main issue with this Pilot Travel Center isn't the center per se: it's the fact that for a Greyhound "Findlay" station this center couldn't be further from Findlay. The bus from Toledo actually passes right by an interstate exit into downtown Findlay; yet it rolls on past and drives another 10 miles past (!) to Van Buren, a tiny town in the middle of nowhere. If you don't know anyone in Findlay who can pick you up, or you don't want to hitchhike on I-75 or bum a ride from someone (good luck with that), you have two options: walk 8 miles to Findlay (!) along tiny country roads where people fly by going 70 or pay 25 bucks for a taxi. You could also see Van Buren State Park... if you want to walk a solid 2-3 miles to get to the entrance. At one time Findlay actually had a Greyhound station called "Posthouse" all of a mile from downtown Findlay, but that's long been boarded up. But there's plenty of stores in Findlay that could certainly accommodate busses in their parking lot, so why does Greyhound continue to inconvenience travels? This not only inconveniences travelers coming to Findlay, but also those leaving: same problem either way, no ride, catch an overpriced taxi with no other options. The whole point of taking a bus is because someone doesn't have a car. Thus, dropping passengers off at a location which requires car travel is completely absurd. read more
