Justin was incredibly thorough and professional. His attention to detail was impressive, and he identified major roof concerns that we never would have noticed ourselves. He took the time to explain everything clearly and gave us much more confidence in our home purchase. Highly recommend Justin and the Ferguson Team! read more

Awful experience. Paid hundreds for an inspection, and when it later became clear that my inspector missed major issues, I was told nothing would be done because the inspection was only "visual." Don't waste your money with these guys. There is no accountability here. read more

We used pillar to post Ferguson team in the spring for my niece and nephew first home they bought. The inspector was very helpful and extremely thorough. read more

We were in need of a home inspection as we are buying a home. Pillar to Post was recommended by our realtor and I am so glad! When I called to schedule they were able to set an appointment very quickly. Spencer and Mark both came out and were very thorough. For the general inspection Spencer looked over the house from top to bottom. Because the home has well and septic Mark concentrated on that. After a few hours we received the inspection report and Spencer sat down with us and went over it in detail. After the inspection was over the next few days we were provided with the 360 degree tour and a floor plan of the house which has really come in handy. Overall I was happy with the professionalism and the quick responses were appreciated. I would for sure recommend if you are looking for a home inspector! read more

Dan from Pillar to Post Ferguson team was our inspector for our first time home purchase. Dan was thorough, kind, and happy to answer all my questions (I had a lot since we are new to the process!). Dan took time to explain the likely cause of some water issues in the basement and made us feel really comfortable with buying a 100+ year old home. Plus he gave us a very detailed report so I didn't have to take notes or try to remember ever detail on the spot. Highly recommend! read more

I'm not even sure where to begin with this review. Everything this company has done has been high quality, professional, timely, kind, honest, and most importantly, easy to work with. Home inspection: Mark was prompt, knowledgeable, detailed, organized, and friendly. He put everything in a binder for easy reference and his report was available same day. This allowed us to discuss details with the owner right away. Paul came in, by chance, and also pointed out an issue while he was there that we were unaware of. This issue ultimately was much bigger than what we anticipated. We are so thankful for his extensive knowledge and expertise. Mold remediation: I worked with Aaron mostly. He has been simply a life saver in this entire process. Ultimately, we just wanted our family to be safe. Aaron explained every step of the process. He answered countless questions and has always been readily available. His patience and kindness could not possibly be Matched!! He has went above and beyond what I could have ever asked for or expected. I have been overwhelmed by just how kind and compassionate Aaron has been during this stressful process. This team deserves every bit of praise. To conclude this review, I would HIGHLY recommend this team. I would not hesitate to send anyone to them. Our experience has been exceptional. read more

I called on a Saturday and had an appointment scheduled for Monday at 9am! I was shocked to have it scheduled so quickly. Besides being impressed with their sense of urgency (which I needed to complete our home purchase), Sandy, Mark and Brian have been wonderful to work with through the process. They have clear communication and I have direct access to text them as needed. I would highly recommend Pillar to Post! read more

7 years later and I'm still uncovering major things these people missed in their inspection and dealing with financial headaches as a result. The owners response is laughable as when I called them they were very rude about it basically denying everything and calling me a liar. The inspection was under my girlfriends name, nice attempt to deny again though. read more

TOP NOTCH!!! As a Medina County Realtor I have been working with the Paul Ferguson Team at Pillar to Post for YEARS! Their team of inspectors are the BEST in the industry. Always early. Always professional. Printed reports to take with you at the end of the inspection. I highly recommend PtoP for home inspections. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. Because of their lack of understanding and willingness to wait 5 mins to replace a 1" X 1" spindle with slight carpenter bee damage, my mortgage refinance was held up due to their writeup on the pest inspection report. When I spoke to Paul Ferguson directly, he lacked professionalism, compassion, and understanding concerning the minor damage I was referring to. I asked him to come to see the mentioned damage for himself, but he refused. As a result, he told me to find someone else to inspect my home, and I called AAA, and they were accommodating, coming out to pest inspect the house, and found no issues. read more

When i purchased My house, this company failed to see that the A/C unit was broken. It never worked. I was lucky because the previous owner purchases an appliances insurance and I was able to replace the A/C unit for $100. Awful. A lot of other things were not reported by this company . Run fast and run away!!!!!!! Total careless!!!! read more

Where to start.... We purchased a house that cost over $400K, so you would think the previous home owners would have spent a few dollars on up keep. Nope... These are a few things the, I dare call him an "inspector" missed. We paid Pillar to Post over $600.00 for an inspection that a 6th grader with cataracts could have preformed. The inspection was a joke! "Mouse Droppings"? NO, it was an infestation of mice! Thousands of mouse dropping in the attic above the garage, even the pest control company we hired was amazed how bad it actually was! Window gas seals? I guess they never looked outside the house. An 8-10 degree difference between lower and upper floors. Do you keep a parka near your bedside? And the list goes on.... Kitchen cabinets that literally were falling apart. Base moldings that were never nailed. Bi-fold doors that had nails in the hinges. Entrance doors that actually open when the wind blows (these opened while deadbolted closed!). Door seals that were so messed up you could actually measure the outdoor temperature from the inside of the door frame. A toilet that was clogged when we first used it. A bathroom sink in the same room that leaked water on to the lower portion of the vanity. Oh yeah! I tried contacting Pillar to Post a few times via email and phone calls. I even talked to a so called "Manager", and discussed my disappointment with the "inspection". He was supposed to see if we could recoup some of the money I spent on this farce. That was almost two months ago, so I'm sure they have dismissed this as just another disgruntled customer... read more

How you feel about a company is typically formed by the handling of issues. My new home was given a clean bill of health by their tech Neil. We close- take possession- see water, - the day we moved in- water running down the stack in the basement. Called plumber - who rips open a wall and replaces the stack. Walk through the door and drop $500 to the plumber and whatever it will cost to fix the drywall. Informed the inspector. Did not hear from for 2 days, my agent gave me the owner's phone number-no call returned. I'm sure my agent forced him to come back- he witnesses the aftermath of the plumbing repair and informed me he'd get back to me the following day. 2 days later nothing. Now I've got to take more time and money and retain an attorney, the company seems to have an attrition policy vs tackling issues head on. AVOID THIS COMPANY AND ANYONE WHO RECOMMENDS THEM!!!! read more

If I could rate them zero stars, I would! Customer service is terrible. Our home inspector missed something during our inspection and when we raised concerns with them, the inspector admitted it was his mistake. Pillar to Post refused to return our phone calls and told us to deal with their attorney. We complained at the local office all the way to corporate. We kept getting told our calls would be returned but no one called us back. We received a letter from their attorney saying we can deal with the attorney on any concerns and they are refusing to consider the solution we have asked for. Terrible!!!!! Do not use them. read more

The house inspector we had spent most of his time chatting up the realtor and others. He picked apart cosmetic things like a chipped spot of paint on the door going out to the garage, l was not impressed by this individual and to be honest will never use or recommend them again. read more

Great work you saved us thousands. 653 Frederick blvd akron ohio 44320 Beware of this property, it has been on the market near one year. Four or five other offers have fallen through and not closed. The seller's listing agent said it was because others could not financially afford to pay and the last family lost employment which was discovered at closing and prevented the deal from going through. Our pillar to post inspection company discovered multiple issues with the property including laying new roof shingles over rotted plywood and a crack in the basement floor foundation which may be structural damage that an engineer should evaluate. What I am disappointed about is the fact that this information is not on the disclosure sheet. This means the seller is unaware. He showed up to our inspection wanting to see what pillar to post inspection company was saying which is a nono although we allowed him to be involved so he would be aware of the issues with the property. He is one of 4 owners of the property, this may have been a group purchase and a hasty unskilled quick throw lipstick on a pig flip. Of course we were willing to still purchase the property but only if they were willing to make the necessary repairs required by fha financing. They refused. That is fine BUT now they are aware of the property damage and haven't updated what they know about the property on the disclosure as of yesterday which means the next unsuspecting buyer will spend 300 to 500 on an inspection only yo discover the same basement floor foundation crack request repairs or pay for an engineer's report only yo discover the multiple sellers may not agree to make repairs and you move on feeling grateful you only lost your 300 to 500 instead of more than 70k but in reality had they been honest sellers and fully disclosed the issues with the property you may have bypassed it from the start and not wasted your hard earned money. They should have been honest with the disclosure sheet instead of wasting homebuyer's time and energy trying to make a faulty cracked structure into first home. I haven't even mentioned tge more than 50 percent usage on the furnace and hot water tank. Save your coins and run the other direction or at least if you buy, know that your purchase will come with multiple repairs and replacements you may have to invest in within the first 5 years depending on how much heat, cooling, and hot water you plan to use. I loved that this home has a basement, it was something that set it apart from the other properties on Gaylord, Sheffield, Delia etc but what's the point if the floor is cracked and one of the basement walls is bowed? RUNNNN! read more

John Spencer is a con-artist! Came to do an inspection, he spent most of the time talking to the realtor, not inspecting. He spent a total of 5 minutes in the house, and charged me full price for an inspection. His report was not acceptable for my loan officer. Waste of money! read more

Home Inspection was poorly done. I was so angry and unhappy with the inspection that I filed a complaint with BBB but of course they did nothing about it. We did a whole home inspection with them and I had major issues with how the septic, roof and foundation inspections were done. First of all, for the septic inspection, all the guy did was pour the dye down the drain and basically called it 'done.' He could not find the septic tank after that and wanted to leave it at that. We had to find the septic tank for him and then when we found it under some brush, he didn't want to come back to properly test it. That is why you should find the septic first before you pour the dye in it. That is not a $250 septic inspection. I did get angry about it and made him go back but I shouldn't have to tell him how to do his job. There was other things he missed. I had told him about the structural concerns I had because of the chimney cracks. Cracks running down in the middle of the bricks, all the way down the chimney, is a sure sign the house was losing structural integrity. It was an old house, over 100 years old, so I wanted that to be looked into. He totally ignored me about it. When I got his finished report back without that chimney cracks being noted, and the septic test not properly done, I got very angry and made him go back. It was just so unprofessional. Also when he did the roof inspection, he did not bring a tall enough ladder for a normal 2 story house. So he looked at the roof from the back of the drive way and said 'looks good from here.' It was a joke. In total, we paid over $750 for this home inspection which was such a pain in the a$$. I will never do business with 'Pillar To Post' again. read more

Neil could not have been more friendly, kinder, or more professional. This was my first home inspection on my first home. I didn't know what to expect going in, so naturally I was a little nervous. It's an expensive endeavor, so you want to believe that the inspectors are really doing all they can for you. My uncertainty was immediately calmed after meeting the two gentlemen performing the inspection. They walked me through the house and showed me everything they found as they came across it while explaining it all along the way in plain English. They even took pictures in areas that were unsafe or inaccessible to me so that I could see what they were seeing. They weren't able to find the septic tank as it was covered by landscaping, but they got in touch with the county and made an appointment to come back to locate it later on this week. They compiled a packet on site with every assessment line by line which included pictures. I'd recommend these guys to anyone. read more
