With two water slides and a fun staff, it's a great places for kids to go to cool off during those months between Memorial Day and Labor Day. However, when its hot and you'd like a dip in the pool, there are likely a multitude of Blair residents thinking the same thing at that very moment. A noticeable tension Blair had had to balance is the crowd size. Some days the place is swarming with people, both in the main swimming pool area and the "kiddie pool" area. So come early and claim a spot, or be prepared to put some money down for a swim at the YMCA down the street. You won't get the golden tan from being out in the open, but you might have a little more personal space.

Safe and friendly. Family BBQ's at the park and parades for homecoming. Good schools and solid churches. Very good place to raise a family. You can leave your car unlocked and your screen door open. Sincerely, this is a fantastic little town. The winters are way too cold and the summers can get very hot and humid, but if you're more interested in quality of life than weather and lots of entertainment and dining options, this is the town for you. I visited Branch Oak in Spring (when it was a little too cold for water sports, but not too cold…read morefor walking around and enjoying the nature). It's quite a large body of water (the 9th largest in Nebraska!), so there's a lot of space to boat and fish when it is the season. The last time we were there, we saw a duck migration and got some cool photos from that, so there's definitely some cool naturey things to see. Aside from that, there's not too much to do here, but it's a nice place to relax and get some light exercise (or do some boating, swimming, or camping when it's nicer out!)

We did have a seadoo, which was able to be put in near by and then we anchored near our spot. It was warm, and had a lot of shallow areas. Be aware of the sand/mud as it can pull you in and if you're not a great swimmer and cause panic, so just be careful. We camped across the lake and it was very pretty to watch the sunset and sunrise from our site. I look forward to coming back.
