As someone who also battles with anxiety and who is planning on children in the near future, I wanted to ensure my physical health, as well as my mental health was in some sort of unity, and Rachel picked up on that instantly during our initial consultation. I felt extremely comfortable telling her even my most personal secrets, and I'm very happy I did, because she puts together an incredible and personalized fitness package which included (for me) fitness, meditation and yoga. I love the balance, and immediately felt a positive change in my body and overall quality of life. I love how each session is different, and builds from the last. I truly look forward to the next session. Thank you Rachel!!

Overall the reformer Pilates class was a good experience. The workout itself was fairly basic, and well-scripted. The instructor clearly guided us through each movement, which made it accessible and easy to follow and asked in the beginning of the class if anyone had injuries or limitations where movements would need to be modified. The studio felt comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, with just the right amount of space between people and equipment. It felt clean, calm, and exactly what you'd want from a Pilates studio. At the end of the intro class, they went over membership options, which was expected. The universal membership is close to $300/month, but unfortunately the studio closest to me in Howell doesn't participate, so it doesn't make sense for me personally. That said, the instruction and studio experience was good, and It's absolutely something on my bucket list but unfortunately I didn't get past this initial class so I can't explain much on what happens in the actual class, ease of booking, considering other reviews., etc. Good luck!

In the past 15 years I've developed extreme constant lower back pain and in the past 5 years put on a lot of weight bc of it. For years my fiancé would have to help me out of bed every morning. Sitting up was not something I could do on my own. After 5 classes at club Pilates I've already noticed that I've gained muscle tone back all over my body AND I can actually get myself out of bed on my own the majority of the time. My core has gotten stronger to the point where the pain in my lower back has actually decreased!!! Club Pilates is affordable with great instructors. And Pilates itself is a life savor in my eyes. I never thought I'd be able to walk, sleep or move like I was 39 years old again. I thought I was doomed to have a body 20 years older than it was. Club Pilates has renewed my hope that I can live a normal life again! On top of all that...I actually love going! I've never enjoyed working out but I look forward to every class. My shape is starting to revert back to my college cheerleading days and I'm smiling while it's happening!!! I 100% recommend Club Pilates, especially the ocean plaza location to everyone looking to improve their life in any way! See you there!!!!

I contacted Chris for personal training at Pure Focus to help me reach my pre-op strength, but not only that, but to help me strengthen my body as a whole. When I first came to Chris my squats were uneven, I had weak calf muscles and glutes, and my quads were weak because of my previous surgery. I also needed to work on my upper body, because as a soccer player I was all legs. Chris was great with working with me, because at first I had limitations because of my knee, but he worked around it and found the best program for me. I got cleared at five months post op to play soccer again, and I attribute that to working with Chris. I worked with him twice a week and every time I went I got better and better. Before I knew it I would look in the mirror and see and even squat, or bench more weight then I thought was possible. After I got cleared I still work with Chris twice a week weight training and also started one day a week for conditioning. Recently, I took fifth place in my nationalaly ranked USAPL powerlifting completion. I squatted 365 lbs, benched 155 lbs and deadlifted 408 lbs! Without Chris my recovery would have never been as successful and quick as it was. Not only does Chris know his way around a gym, he is also an amazing person and truly gives his all when working with a client.
