Bask is right over the bridge. .8 miles from x-hale! the teachers are wicked (in a good way). They all really care about alignment, which is something I was uncomfortable with at xhale. Xhale teachers didn't care if people were in dangerous pretzel poses. It was not ideal. The classes at bask are challenging. It's not the same old drab. Everyone is ready to go. It feels more fluid. At xhale the teachers are all flipping through notebooks to see what to do next. Made me nervous. Basak studios don't smell like feet. it's sooooo clean. If you are a casual yoga practitioner, and it's close to home, and you have money, xhale is for you. If you are a seasoned practitioner, or want to save money... I have been to 4 different Pilates studios in the last 3 years seeing no results as far as the pain is concerned. It just seemed like I couldn't find an instructor that knew what they were doing. The pain was actually getting worse in some circumstances. Then I heard about Carly from Carlys pure pilates. I've been seeing her for 3 months now and the pain is completely gone. It's a true blessing to have finally found an instructor that knows what she's doing. She is a true godsend and for the first time in 10 years I finally feel human again. The studio is fantastic as well. She has four reformers and a Cadillac. I didn't even know what a Cadillac was before coming to her Studio. There is nothing better than yoga "on the beach" except when you're on the beach and under cover! That's the best! We had yoga on really sunny, hot days and rainy days. It was just perfect! Always under the roof. Off season, you'll find me taking classes at the Brielle Library. Patty is fabulous and encouraging whether you're a beginner or experienced yogi. The ambience in the studio is perfect and the variety of equipment also makes the experience interesting and challenging. Most of the women support each other and I look forward to seeing them each week. Being an Unlimited member, I can book up to 15 classes at a time and rarely miss out on a class due to a waitlist. In the summer, the population seems to swell and you're more likely to be waitlisted but I have been #8 and still gotten into class. Club Pilates has been transformative for me and I highly recommend it.

If you a long time member and wish to advance your difficulty, some classes that I booked for level 2 are virtually impossible to get into as I'm constantly (for the past month) being removed from the class (this happened with instructors Irene and Juliana).
