Well this restaurant can be summed up by saying organized chaos that results in delicious soul food. They only have take out right now and are not have any dine in customers. They have a few parking spots out front. They seem few and far between and there is a lot about a hundreds yards away that have quite a few more spots. I think a 4.5 star rating is more accurate for this restaurant. I decided to go with the 4 because it came close, but did not meet a 5. The menu is on the wall and they have some laminated paper menus if that is your flavor. They have pork chops, chicken, ribs and a wide assortment of sides such as mac and cheese, dressing and fried corn. They also have desserts that include cobblers and sweet potato pie. You place your order through a small tinted glass window, but it is difficult to hear because the music is banging. I liked the music personally, but it was a bit too loud. You pick your order up from a small window to the left of the one that you placed your order. I order a fried pork chop diner with stuffing and sweet potatoes. Like i said, they do not have dine-in, so I had to take it to-go. It was smelling so good that I could not make it and pulled over at a park and chowed down. The pork chops were delicious, as well as the sweet potatoes. The stuffing was ok, definitely not my fav. Since I was there and had no dinner plans, I ordered another meal for later. I got the fried chicken diner with the greens and cabbage mix and the potato salad. The entire dinner was delicious. Some of the best I have ever had. The chicken was perfectly seasoned fresh. The greens and cabbage mix.....wow......I should have gotten a tub of it. I am still thinking about it. The potato salad is mustard based and was packed with flavor. I did have to wait a very long time for my food, but I know that you can't rush perfection. I would highly recommend placing your order online (you won't have the loud music drowning you out) or call it in. Soul food is hard to come by, and good soul food is even harder. Yep it's me again! I've been here a few times and it's secretly turning into one of my go to spots! My favorite item on the menu is the macaroni and cheese and cabbage/greens mix. I know cabbage greens mix.....sounds awkward at least that's how I felt the first time I ready it but man it's SOOOOO GOOD! Today I ended up with the jambalaya! Now I don't really like jambalaya but I can't lie; this one was delicious! If I actually liked the dish I would've ate it, but my daughter took it and she SMASHED! I would highly recommend checking your order BEFORE you leave, I've had a couple of mishaps before. You will find this place sitting in a small strip on lafayette road and 30th street. I came here on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm, and it was really busy. They have parking in front of the building that is shared with other business in the strip but it's very tight and limited. They close at 6pm on Sunday so maybe I just came at a busy time?! I found out from a worker who was outside (I think for crowd control?) that they just opened in June. The inside is very small so with COVID, I'm thinking they were trying to limit the number of customers with the space they had. We waited in line to order which took about 10 mins since it was pretty busy at that time. I didn't feel any air in the inside as it was hot and outside temp was 80's on this day. So after we placed our order we just waited in our car, luckily we got a spot right out front. After 5 mins waiting in the car, the worker outside approached us and said they were out of meatloaf. We were upset because that's what we really wanted so unfortunately we had to choose an alternative. Around the 20 min mark, we went back in and the food was ready. Now to the food...they have a nice menu. Prices are fair. We ordered country style ribs with greens and Mac n cheese, fried pork chop with sweet potatoes and fried corn, and kids meal of chicken wings with potato salad. We decided to go with corn bread for all the meals. They have a wide selection of deserts, hard to decide what to get since they all sounded good. We chose peach cobbler, sweet potato pie, and dirt cake. Everything was wonderful besides the sweet potatoes and peach cobbler. I'd go here again hopefully to get the meatloaf (seems like the big hitter!) and try other sides and deserts. Placed an order for pick up and it was ready by the time I arrived! Our order consisted of the Fried Perch meal, the kids fried chicken dark and the banana pudding and the peach cobbler desserts. Now the peach cobbler was tasty, the banana pudding had a weird after taste to it. We ordered the full perch fried - the perch could have been fried a little longer but the mash potatoes and stuffing were great! The kids fried dark came with a drum and thigh and potatoes and gravy - no complaints heard! This restaurant is CARRYOUT ONLY, Located in a strip mall on the corner of 30th and Lafayette Road. Parking is shared by several business so it's limited. Once inside, I signed the wall as a first time visitor and took my place in line. For the most part, social distancing was observed and masks were worn by everyone but with people waiting in line and people waiting for their order and an employee bringing orders to customers, it was difficult at times. The menu was written in chalk on the front wall, but I came for the 1/2 price catfish dinner offered to senior citizens. Once I reached the dark colored Plexiglas to place my order---you can't see the person you are speaking with, I was told that they were out of catfish so I chose 2 salmon patties, baked spaghetti, green beans, hush puppies and peach cobbler. After placing my order, in order to adhere to social distancing, I went outside to wait in the folding chairs, since I saw an employee delivering orders outside to customers. After about 35 minutes a customers asked if i was GB, and was told my name had been called earlier. I then went inside to pickup my order. After arriving home with my dinner, I had to reheat it. I'm REALLY hungry now, so I'm anxious to eat this good looking prepared food. I take a bite of the salmon patties and its to salty. I try the meaty spaghetti and it's salty. I take a bite of the green beans and its super salty. I managed to eat bits and pieces of the meal to salvage it but it was a loss. The peach cobbler was delicious! I reached out to the owner through FB messenger to advise her of my experience. She stated that they would work on it. Finally got around to trying this place. The food was good, but the corn bread wasn't the best. Got three different plates, all chicken wings. Mac and cheese was good to me. It wasn't mushy at all. Green beans had good flavor, but was a bit too soft in my opinion. My husband did have some mashed potatoes, and said we're just okay. I loved the okra. Oh MY God! I was really excited to see that this was on DoorDash, but a bit apprehensive, just because I get nervous with delivery. Scheduled an order today, and it came right on time. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the baked chicken (seasoned well, juicy), mac n' cheese (best in Indy), dressing (tastes like my mom's) and greens which were also delicious. I need this company to fire the people that make the side dishes. I had the pinto beans, cabbage and greens mix, and I threw both away. The pinto beans were uncooked and still semi 'hard'. The taste of the beans were disgusting. I don't who taste the food before, they decide to serve to the public. I have to suspect this person has lost majority of their taste buds,, due to extensive drug use,, via a pipe. The greens n cabbage mix is a horrible combination due to the thickness of both veggies. My hubs had the ribs and after he inhaled his food he ask me who's grandma cooked this because it tasted home made! I have asked for sweet potatoes twice and got mac n cheese instead each time. Maybe they don't carry them anymore, but no one has ever asked me about subbing them out Also from the pictures you can tell they changed the mac n cheese recipe up a little and I wasn't a fan. Delicious is al I can say. Initially, I tried just the sides.....mac and cheese and cabbage mixed with greens bc I had cooked my own meat. The macaroni was the best I've had in any soul food restaurant....nice and cheesy and creamy. Cabbage/greens were well seasoned and delicious. On my next visit, I had the pork chops.....delicious and very well seasoned, however a bit SLIGHTLY salty. My 3rd visit was a house salad for lunch. OMG!!!!!! its a 2 meal salad. First time. Last time. Customer service was terrible. I placed my order on Yelp for Jambalaya with green beans and okra. Peach cobbler for dessert. My actual receipt said what I purchased and my receipt from restaurant said everything but the dessert. My food was disappointing. My jambalaya rice was so mushy and salty. It wasn't even edible. After so long the smell of the food made you feel sick to your stomach. Maybe it wasn't fresh. The green beans... I'm sorry. Maybe are cooked in some type of fish oil. Oh the fried okra was delicious until I got to the bottom. It was filled with grease. The cornbread was so good!!!! So yea, back to the receipt part. They had left off the peach cobbler. WOW! Thats all i have to say is wooow. Their food was soooo good even got a picky eater to eat everything on the menu we tried. All the food was well made, well seasoning and cooked to perfection. Got the wings, fried chicken, baked chicken and ribs. For sides we had mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, mac n cheese and green beans. All of it was delicious. I've been to soul food restaurants around the country and considering they've only been open 3 months I think doing a great job. The key to a great soul food restaurant as far the food go are fried chicken,Greens and cornbread. With a honorable mention to Mac and Cheese. If you don't get the big 3 right to me your not a great soul food restaurant. Muva fried chicken was excellent but I did have a wing dinner that was only ok. The greens were great but they mixed cabbage with the greens. I didn't know this when I ordered and I don't like cabbage. But surprisingly they made it work which tells if I keep trying it I'll like it. Now the cornbread the regular cornbread was delicious the hot water corn bread not so much. Whoa!!! So I ordered a salad on DoorDash being lazy because I usually make my own salad and I cook my own food but I've been doordashing a lot recently. The salad was $15 plus $5 for chicken and I got all the fixings in that salad and they could barely shut the container it was so full. All the the ingredients was so fresh like it was fresh out of the garden I want to say the taste was organic because everything was so flavorful I'm very impressed with highest quality fresh veggies selected and used in this salad. Haven't tried the food yet but based on customer experience I probably won't be back!Was in line with 3 other people, all our orders came out different than what the menu said we would get. I personally ordered online, and the website menu says 1 thing but they gave me something different when I inquired about the difference and showed them the online menu they looked confused and just moved on to the next customer not even offering to fix my order. My chicken was not done, my food had zero flavor. May try again. But today was not there day

I was there on a Friday afternoon and received my food in about 10 minutes after I ordered. I got BBQ ribs, Mac and cheese, potato salad and hot water cornbread. The Mac and cheese was outstanding, ribs were good and I was expecting classic potato salad but what I got was a kind of mustard curry potato salad that was runny, warm and had lots of sugar in it. I loved the hot water cornbread and would have been happy to pay a bit more for a larger piece. The music was way, way too loud. I couldn't hear them and had to almost put my ear on the speaking area microphone to hear them. They couldn't hear me very well, either. Tasted my friend's pinto beans and meatloaf. Beans had great flavor but it was so salty I couldn't eat more than a bite. Meatloaf was very good. I'll be back to try the fried chicken, greens, a dessert and more Mac and cheese and hot water cornbread. My friend will order again, too. Please turn the music down and don't salt so heavily. I ordered from Muvas on 3 occasions. The first time I got the fried salmon, Mac and cheese and yams. I selected the large portion. 2 large pieces of Salmon was fried to perfection and sides were plentiful. The last two times have been horrible! It's like they got a new chef or something. I ordered the large portion and salmon was small and skimpy. Sides were small. There is no consistency. Seasonings off. I will give them one last shot but I'm highly disappointed. The food is horrible, overly salty catfish sandwich, the okra was horrible clearly cooked in a dirty fryer with old oil, the coleslaw was so old that it was fermenting and bubbly, the Pinto beans tasted burned and scorched. This place is horrible and disgusting. I ordered a strawberry shortcake and the cake was literally hard as it had been left open for days. The bread was literally hard as a rock so you can imagine the rodents that could have potentially gotten inside. Most importantly these shortcakes breads are 1.00 for 4 at Meijer or Walmart so the fact that you saved old shortcake bread is disgusting. My son had the burger and fries real potatoes were not even used. My husband had the baked chicken and it looked like an animal of some sort but not chicken. Oh and I called the manager and apparently he was surprised he had never had a complaint, oh and offered an apology. He didn't even offer to remake my food. Stay away from this place if you don't want to end up sick.
