They are a great small town, county shelter that takes good care of homeless dogs and cats. Recently they got some publicity for one of their residents who had been living in the shelter for 11 years. Wiggles had a tumor that was unoperateable, but 5 A's kept her and loved her. Finally after appearing on a local news channel, she found her forever home for her senior years. Being new to the Alton community, I stopped by to see what I could do or donate to help them with their cause and was impressed with the cleanliness of the shelter. I was also impressed with the friendliness and love I saw the staff and volunteers showing the resident animals. Couldn't even "find" the dead dog on the side of the road even with an exact location, I had to go sit with the animal until she decided she was competent enough to do her job and come to the sight that I had been at waiting. She rather worry about animals that are on their own property minding their own business, quite literally. Next time I have a stray animal or abused animal situation I will be calling elsewhere..Somewhere that actually cares about saving animals.

I had just lost my precious Lily. My beloved Chihuahua from congestive heart failure. I saw a…read morelittle dog on their site and I only can handle a small dog. I put in an application for this little brown chihuahua that was found In rural southern Tennessee and eventually made his way to partners for pets. They approved my application in 30 minutes and I left immediately to go meet him. He still had a heart worm test that hadn't been done so he couldn't be adopted yet. They let me foster him until he passed his heart worm test and before we even brought him back for the heart worm test we knew that Jackson had found his forever home. My Lily was 13. My little chihuahua Betsy that I had before Lily was 14 when I lost her. Jackson is only 1 1/2 so I hope to have him for many years to come. They are so special at partners for pets. It's heartwarming to see such selfless people in the world. I recommend them to anyone needing or wanting to adopt a fur baby. He's not a pure bred chihuahua but he's mine and that's all that matters. If u don't have time I. Your life to take In a fur baby then consider volunteering occasionally or donating to them. She even tracked me down in the store as I was paying since she didn't give me Heidi when I picked her up. She made sure I was happy with the cut and asked if there was any thing she needed to change for the next cut. I will definitely be bringing Heidi back. Also, all the other employees are always very helpful and love to see Heidi when I bring her in.
