The parking lot was clean of any trash and hazards. Entry was clean as was the store. Took me a bit, but I found what I was looking for. I'm not sure when a standard pack of bacon became $10.00 . When approaching the registers to check out, even though there are four registers, we only had the option to use self check out. That is such a pet peeve. When did this become a thing? I don't work there, and i had just left my full-time job. Would you like my invoice for working at your store as well. I mean, come on! What's the point of having employees up there. I recently moved in the area and this grocery store is closest to me. My car recently broke down in their parking lot in freezing temps. One of the employees tried to help me jump my car but it didn't work. They welcomed me back in the store and continued to check on me and my daughter to make sure we were being helped. Another male employee walked me out when the tow truck came to make sure I made it to my car safe, which I appreciated as the area is a little sketchy at night. Very friendly and helpful staff here. Too short staffed. The few workers they have here try their best but they are completely overwhelmed. The service desk tries to handle not only the customer service for the supermarket, but the same single person has considerable tasks that take them away from the service desk, or back in the money counting area PLUS they are supposed to be renting out UHaul vans. They're not actually trained in UHaul so if there's one UHaul customer, even if that customer arranged everything online by reservation on the UHaul app, this ties up the single untrained customer service desk worker for minimum of an hour. There's on over reliance on self checkout (isn't that what I do in front of my mirror before I leave out of my house?) and no worker to help (it's like customers have been hired to work at the store without training or pay). I recommend this place for people with low self-esteem or lots of time to kill. read more

I don't know why I always go back. I know why. They are the only ones that have Boars Head turkey. I went in before 6:45pm and two women were hanging around the back of deli. Before I said anything I heard someone say something like, "this guy is coming in 10 mins before we close" meaning the deli, not the store. After we both tried not making eye contact for a few seconds I asked if I could get help. They were not happy. If I did not say something they would have kept ignoring me. The lights were off and they had cleaned the meat slicers and they wanted me to know it. After about another 20 seconds of awkward "can you help me?" And muttering something under their breath I said "if you guys are closing I'll leave. I don't want to bother you." One woman said, "are you sure?" as if it was a real question. I walked away. Went in to Piggly Wiggly today. Got some awesome deals. Grapes regularly $2.26 a pound marked down to .69 a pound and a few other great deals. To get the deals you have to sign up for their card. No problem. Being on the road full time I sign up for a lot of cards for the deals. We get to the register I ask to sign up for the card. Lady at register Victoria says they are out of cards. I ask well how do I get the discounts. She informs me you can't without the card. What?!?!?! I was about ready to walk out and go else where when the guy leaving in front of me offered to let us use his card for discounts. That's not the way to run a business Piggly Wiggly. I bought baby back ribs on 8/19/22. When I opened them, they were clearly rancid. I brought them back to the store and wasnt given a refund/replacement. I did not have my receipt, who keeps food receipts? I went to the meat section, and sure enough, the same ribs with the same date were there. I informed the clerk at customer service and was told, " you don't know for sure those are bad like the ones you bought". Well then, take them off the shelf!!!!! Very unpleasant older staff management at this store in Zion. Sloppily dressed clerk with the bad multi colored dye job was the worst. Asked for a dollar change so I could play the lottery machine there. She nastily said WE DON'T GIVE CHANGE. Then you don't need me purchasing ANYTHING either. I fell as I walked through the second set of doors at the Zion Piggly Wiggly store on Sept. 17, 2018, because there was a man right outside the outer doors power washing the sidewalk and they didn't block off those doors while he was doing it. The lady at the service desk just looked at me and smiled as I got up off of the floor holding my back, then turned and went about her business, she didn't even ask me if I was alright, or not. Then I walked over to the produce department and as I was picking out some produce, I told the man that I had just fell, coming through the inner doors, because of the man spraying the sidewalk outside. Then I said, to him, that they should close those doors and have people come in the other doors before somebody really gets hurt bad. The he sharply replied to me asking, "What are you going to do when winter comes ???" I replied back, "What ?" He said it again sharply, "What are you going to do when winter comes ???", but he also added at that point very sarcastically , "You are going to be very CAREFUL, AREN'T YOU ???" Then I replied, "First of all, Sir, it is not winter !!!.....And second of all I WAS VERY VERY CAREFUL !!!" Then he chucked and went about his business. Then as I got in the check out line to check out my groceries, I asked the check out lady if she would please put my gallon of milk in a bag and double bag it and also double bag my other stuff because 3 of the items were boxes with sharp edges and I told her I have arthritis bad in my hands and I am walking and my hands can't handle the coldness of holding the milk right in my hand and that I already fell as I entered the store because of the man spraying water right outside the doors, I don't want my bags to break as I am walking across Sheridan road, like they have in the past a few times and I almost got ran over. She gave me a very rude attitude saying that they are short on bags, so she very begrudgingly double bagged my milk, but she didn't double bag my boxed stuff with the sharp edges. Then I called the Antioch Piggly Wiggly to talk to the owner, because no way was I about to talk to the manager at the one in Zion after I had already gotten treated that way by 3 different people in the Zion store, so I called the Antioch store to try to talk to the owner, they said that he won't be back until tomorrow and they will absolutely have him call me. Well, by the next evening e hadn't called me, so I talked to someone else and asked them to have him call me, the next evening I still hadn't received a call, so I called back one more time told another person the whole story and she said the she would talk to the owner and definitely try to get him to call me, but that either way, she herself, would call me back within an hour, she never called me back. The finally the manager from the Zion Piggly Wiggly called me a day or two after that and was extremely rude as he started to ask me what in the world is going on and what supposedly happened about you falling in our store or something the other day ? With his attitude from the very start I told him that I am not going to talk to him about anything, I have been waitig all week for a call from the owner. The he replied, "Well, that's not the way things work her you have to talk to me. I replied, "Forget it !" and then I just hung up. And I had a bad back to begin with, but it is definitely worse since I fell at the Pig on Sept. 17, 2018. Lastly, I have gotten dirty looks from all of those 3 people at the Zion Pig ever since I fell there that day, like I did something wrong !!!....And the owner NEVER did call me back ! therefore, to sum it all up, whatever you do, don't fall in the Zion Piggly Wiggly store because you will totally be treated like a CRIMINAL and get dirty looks every time you come into that store from then on !!!!!! THE ABSOLUTE ONLY REASON THAT I RATED IT ONE IS BECAUCE THE SYSTEM REFUCED TO ET ME POST MY REVIEW IF I DIDN'T GIVE IT AT LEAST 1 STAR, but in reality, I absolutely give it 0 stars, absolutely 0 !!! My husband and myself to the store in Zion. We went to the deli stood there for 20 minutes the person who I believe is the manager or owner he had seen us! Kept.going about whatever not telling u please one minute nothing. Then finally helped us .We walked away w/ our deli comes running up to us cuz he didn't.put the price on it, then says count.to ten. Who is this guy to say that to us. So then we gave back his Deli. We normally spend 300.00 every week. We will never be back.again. Treat.us like he knows us not.first time.Its too bad alot of my friends have stopped going there. There was another.person in deli to help the other person. Good prices on meat, when it is instock. Sale items go out of stock very quickly. Just about everything else I find overpriced. Customer services acts like they know nothing about the store. For instance he was unsure about checking a price on water that wouldn't ring up, because he didn't know the location. How about checking the beverage aisle, I mean come on. A different time I was looking for an item and used the describing word "square" , he did not know what a square was and I had to explain it to him. Shame. only go for meat. read more

This place is a complete and utter joke. Considering there are basically two grocery stores to choose from, I typically went to this store because I found they are cheaper. Every time I went there, there was always this one man who worked there in particular who seemed to be one of those employees who took their job way too seriously, as if this is the only thing they had to live for in life. Bald headed, glasses wearing, terrible attitude... Every time I asked this gentleman who was always running around the store looking like he was lost, I would ask him if he had certain things that appeared to be empty. Asked quite a few times if he would be able to check if they had more, always got a "Nope" right off the bat, and would walk away. One night in particular, I came to find out this man is a night manager of some sort. While I was shopping and was accompanied by a neighbor, since I drove the neighbor to the store with me, he was going to buy me a bottle of wine. Just a tiny sign of gratitude, no big deal. While at the register, the man requested I.D. No big deal, until he decides to reject the I.D. due to it being expired. Fine again, no big deal. I then state I am buying the wine, because it's clearly for me. That was completely out of the question, refused to sell it to me, even when I tried to clearly explain to him the situation. He wasn't having any of it, started getting angry, ordered me out of the store, and threatened to have me arrested. Goes without saying I'd rather pay triple the price for the same groceries than to return to this store. They have an underachieving dictator working in their store, who clearly has made it his life goal to be the best he can be while working at a grocery store as a middle aged man. read more
