Hey campers you won't go wrong if you pick this campground! Immaculate grounds, saltwater pool and…read morevery nice laundromat and restrooms. Each bathroom is a private room with toilet and shower! A store with a little of everything! When you arrive Jeremy or one of his cahoots will guide you into your spot that are all level with fire ring and picnic table. It is nicely located near Gatlinburg and Pigeon forge but enough away and tucked in the smokies on a mountain side. It rained heavily overnight on our second night and because of the location there were no drainage problems. Like most KOAs it's not cheap but worth every cent!

My family and I stayed here and had a great time! We stayed in one of their cabins. The campground…read moreis clean, the cabins are nice, and the staff are friendly and hospitable. It's a beautiful setting- woodsy and we were able to enjoy the trail that you can to from the campground that goes into the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. The playground was huge and unique- our kids enjoyed it! They have different activities throughout the day (we did not take advantage of this, but they sounded fun). They also have food that you can order and have delivered to your site (we didn't use this service either because we brought our own food, but we might try a meal next time). I highly recommend this site, especially for families.

They have gorgeous spots right on the river and I could hear the river as I slept and it was so soothing!! The owners are wonderful people and really want campers to enjoy every aspect of their stay. They came out when we came in to help us back camper in our spot. It's very close to town like 5 min drive but felt out in country. Our spot had a picnic table and fire pit. They have a pretty good size bath house with vending machines and at as use washers and dryers which would be good for long stays! Shower stalls were individual bathrooms for privacy .. updated and very clean. We came before Halloween and it had decor for the holiday.. you could stay in camper, they had cabins, and tepees for unique stay. Most were damaged by storm but will be ready for following year. I thought that was really interesting.. i read reviews from previous years about wifi being terrible but we didn't have that issue. We didn't really spend all day at campground we came to see and spend time in the area so we were only using wifi at night and in morning with coffee. I would highly recommend this campground.. it was a great stay and I hated to leave.

We have been staying at Mtn River for about 3 years now and it's become 'home away from home'…read more You have your choice of river or mountainside sites. We prefer the river sites personally for the views & fishing. The campground owners are fantastic people who've become friends. They live on site and take great pride in the property. The property is always impeccable. They are always working. Such a gorgeous place!! The pond is in the center of the property - yes you can fish (catch & release). Areas setup with hammocks, corn hole, seating, etc. The new playground has been a big hit! Oh, and there's also a dog park area. The bathhouses are super clean and have air conditioning. The laundry room is brand new with great units and also A/C. They incorporated additional activities this year over at the pavilion which our family has loved! Bingo, tie-dye t-shirts, food trucks, live music, and more! Our grandson loves to join us. Lots of kids and a great area for them to all play. Tubing the river is always a fun treat! You can bring your own tubes or rent from the campground. The camp store has expanded and features a great mix of items - t-shirts, hats, hoodies, koozies, and more. As well as local jams, rubs, and other treats. They're in the process of building a new office/camp store so we're excited to see this complete. We have a 40' fifth wheel. No problems every getting in. They accommodate all size rigs. All sites have a concrete pad, fire pit and very nice large picnic table. Sites are spacious and do not feel cramped like we've experienced at other campgrounds. Wi-Fi is generally pretty good. We've been able to work remote on some of our trips. We even had phone service our last trip (AT&T)! Lots to do in the area! Hiking, Linville Winery (yum!), Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mtn and so many other great places. The office staff can certainly provide plenty of recommendations, too. There are 2 grocery stores in town about 15min away. There's also a local dollar store about 5min away. We cannot say enough good things about MRFC. We've met some great campers there who we now call friends. We truly love this place and already have bookings for next year!
