Was on a trip recently in New Orleans and had the misfortune of coming across this store. Walked in…read moreand it was a cool looking store with a lot of decent art. I was more interested in the Jewelry. I wanted something meaningful to take home from this trip and wanted to invest in a ring. "The Earring Lady" who we now also call Sandra the Crazy Lady was the one to help us. I picked out a ring and she talked it up and let us try them all on. I wasn't looking to invest in anything too pricey at this time but i did find a nice Garnet ring I really liked. Of course after purchasing I find the exact same ring (engravings and all) online for $35. How much did I end up paying for this ring in store? $350. After doing more extensive research everything about this ring just screamed scam. We tried to go back to the store to resolve this issue and just get a refund. I brought my proof that the ring was indeed not real and Sandra was not having it. She said that she had made all of her jewelry when we were in there during the purchase but then changes her story when we came back to make the return. She said her husband "the elf" is the one who made all the rings and rubbed it in our face that since he had passed we can't do anything about this situation. She said I had fallen for an internet scam and that her ring was indeed real. We went about this in the most reasonable and respectful way possible. She basically tried to make me feel dumb and like we were "attacking her." She started to bang on the counter and saying that we were disrespecting her business and was just trying to get us out of the store. I tried to kindley ask for a refund and said I would not leave a review about her fake products and her scamming me. However she did not take this. She tried to tell me she went to the mountains of tennessee and layed out a burlap mat and looked at the stones in the sun herself. Just started saying absolutely crazy nonsense that made no sense trying to get me to believe that the ring was real. Anyway we clearly weren't getting anywhere and she had already started acting erratic so we left. With the ring. And NO solution. Anyway the ring that is supposed sterling silver is turing my finger green. I want to take the stones to get it appraised but I don't think it's worth it because i'm sure they are just resin. Don't make the mistake of buying ANYTHING from this business and being as gullible as me. Sandra I really do hope you feel good about taking advantage of a young woman just wanting to support your business. I was really proud of this purchase and normally do not spend money on my self in this way, now I know not to do it again. Do not waste your time on this business. 0 out of 5 stars. I am extremely disappointed.

Maggie immediately noted our presence & was not welcoming at all, however, she did show us the rings very quickly. I believe the only reason she was so receptive to us was because she believed that we had money. She insisted on showing us many pieces that were purposely out of our budget, (we told her our budget) and when we tried to pick rings that were more in our budget, she scoffed and acted as if they were not as good and insulted my choices for many various reasons, I couldn't even remember. It was like she didn't want to show me anything unless it was $5,000+. We're 25 years old, lady. Who do you think we are, rockefellers? I really thought she would warm up + act more human if I complimented her jewelry. I mean, it was beautiful! I noted that of course she would have such beautiful jewelry, considering her job has great opportunities to collect such pieces. She rolled her eyes and said "well duh" She even rudely commented on my fingers, chiding me for the shape of them at the knuckle. She tried to argue with me about my ring size, even though I already knew it & told her so. every time I was putting the sizer on she claimed "I didn't see it, do it again"... multiple times. it was a very weird experience and I'm not quite sure how she still works here. definitely never returning and will not be recommending, if anything will be recommending people to avoid this place! only giving it two stars because the layout inside is absolutely lovely.

The owner is originally from Seattle, and their flagship location is in the Pike Place Market. They are looking to put up stores in cities that receive a lot of rain. Cool. Let me tell you, these are not your average umbrellas. From parasols to Italian designer, these umbrellas are the kind that you will make sure you have in your possession before you leave. Gorgeous, flowered umbrellas, unusual handles, gentleman's umbrellas, and sort of quirky, European umbrellas that slant to one side. My friend and I were fighting over a beautiful flower one with an unusual rectangular handle. I intend to win that fight. They do have more standard umbrellas as well, but if you need the drama or something that fits your personality, you can find that here too. I don't know why it never occurred to me that Italian-designer umbrellas exist, but I was amazed at the ones I saw. Some even complete with finger holes for better grasp. Crazy, beautiful -- and conversation starters. They can also special order if you know you need something specific. Like an animal head at the end of the umbrella to grasp onto (think old school cane), or a specific color. I can't wait to see how the store looks once they get more settled. Definitely check them out and give then a warm New Orleans welcome!
