I've dealt with The Picture People for 10yrs. now. This has to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had the staff was trouble and the pictures came out with poor quality. The experience was just a big waste of time. Yes I did complain when I got the pictures but just got the round. Because the staff like said earlier has no idea what they're doing. I've called upper management I'm just waiting for them to do something. Here see for yourself. Red lines in photo and somebody's finger print. They wanted to wait for a few hours or come back the next day...this is crazy!!! And it's pre paid. Oh I forgot that I had to come back the next day just to get this crap. read more

Really impressed with the manager there. I am horrible with names but the Manager that came from Fairoaks now in woodbridge is THEE best. She has been shooting my daughter for over a year and every time she captures prefect moments. She takes her time with my toddler and can always get a smile out of her. I will only go there if she shoots my daughter! I will update this post once I get her name! read more

Picture People - :) - Session Photography Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

Made an appointment for my glambaby to take pictures and the team at picture people were so accommodating. We were running late so I called to see if it was best to reschedule or just come on in. We made it and although we had to wait it was worth it. The photographer was awesome and patient. Aaron, assisted me with picking out the pictures and he was very knowledgeable about the various packages. 15-20 min wait to get my pictures the same day is awesome! We will definitely be back! Thank you Picture People!! read more

There is no need of making appointment since they don't keep their schedule, they give priority for those with none appointments rather than who made one and it isn't fair.... read more

I has an appointment last Tuesday and arrived on time in the first outfit. The photographer greeted us and we discussed what I was planning to do, fall and christmas shots, so she set up the backdrop and we began. My girls (2 yr old twins) were very hyper and running around but she spoke to them and played but also kept the camera up to get some really good shots. My only suggesftion is that they somehow add a dressing room because when I had to change the curtains aren't that great. Still waiting on my prints though because their printer wasn't working properly (it had lines through the photos). But I got my disk and I've reviewed all the pics and shared them with my family :-). read more

Went there on a Saturday and we were the 2nd appointment of the day. They only had 1 person working because of a stupid company rule that requires so many appointments before a 2nd person can work. This caused us to be 20 minutes late and I'm sure all the appointments after us. My baby's birthday photos weren't as great as I had hoped and we weren't able to take him to the indoor park before it closed at 2 pm. If our appointment was on time my baby's 1st birthday celebration would have been more fun. I'm sure the company will delete this, but my hope is that they read it first. **My point is you should staff 2 people when you have back to back appointments and on weekends when you're studio is inside a popular store.** Nothing says you can't send second staff member home when things quiet down. read more

I have been to this location numerous times in the past several years. We recently moved and the Chantilly location was closer so we tried it out. Big mistake. We had an appointment scheduled and showed up only to find out that the Chantilly studio was closed. No one bothered to call or email to inform us of this so we had two kids dressed up and ready to take pictures and no photographer. We ended up calling around and drove all of the way to the Potomac Mills location. They were accommodating, professional, and took wonderful pictures of my girls. Big thanks to them for saving the day. read more

This is the most unorganized place on this side of the Mississippi River. I have never been so pissed to the point where I couldn't even say anything but leave... Another customer was late for their appointment so he cussed them out so they put them ahead of me when I was on time for my appointment! THATS BS! I work in customer service and I would never treat my customer as they did.. Then when I call them out they caught an attitude. You instructed me to come 15 mins before my appointment I did... They told me it would be about 20 mins after my appointment... okay.... Now damn near an hour and I keep getting the same thing we will be with you in a minute which DAMN minute.... BEWARE OF THE PLACE DONT WASTE TIME with Ariel lies and this cesspool of being a picture people! read more

I wish I could give no stars. The whole experience was awful. I made an appointment online. We showed up a few minutes early, and I had to give all my information, since it didn't seem like the appointment was showing up. And then we waited. Maybe 10 minutes? It wasn't too long, but still aggravating. There were 2 women doing our pictures. I've only ever had one photographer when we have gone previously (to other locations) & definitely prefer that. So the 2 of them were barking different commands at my kids. I'm not sure if they don't get along, or were trying to one up the other, or what. It was so uncomfortable. Also, one kept calling my son Wesley, even though I repeatedly called him Wes, and even told her his name is Wes. So he wasn't totally receptive to her directions. The women were SO impatient. Every time my kids (who are 4, 2 & 3 months to put it in perspective) didn't immediately do whatever they asked, they got huffy and then would suggest something else. Hell, I was confused, no wonder my kids weren't exactly cooperating. The only positive was that my youngest had a blow out, and they "let us" take a break to change him. I foolishly didn't bring a spare outfit for him, so when I brought him back in just a diaper, they kind of condescendingly commented on the fact he was naked. So after all this, I'm shown the photos by another woman. There were 7. That is insanely low. They were all from the second half, and honestly only one was even close to being useable. I only bought the package because I had a Groupon, and it was super late in the season. She didn't try to upsell at all, which was unfortunate, because I would've loved to have a mark on my kid's chin edited. So all in all, it took about 2 hours for one disappointing picture. I also didn't get the correct number of prints, there was supposed to be a 10 x 13, that I didn't receive. I don't have them in front of me (they were gifts for family) but I know some of the smaller sizes were given in wrong amounts too. SO disappointing. I will gladly go to a location farther away to avoid this hot mess. read more

Had an appointment, show up on time and had to wait two hour trying to control the granddaughters. I would recommend this place to anyone. The service is way to slow read more

I went to get my three month old pictures today. He pretty much cried the entire time, but the photographer was great. She was so patient and gentle with him and even though he cried she still managed to get a couple smiles out of him. Everything was so easy and it was smooth. Plus with the coupon that I found everything was pretty cheap as well. You got to love great pictures at a great price. read more

This is my first review ever. Just wanted to commend the staff on their professionalism and efficiency. I went in for headshots to add to my own business page and was in and out in no more than 15 minutes, and the photos came out great. The location is a little small, but they get nothing but kudos from me! read more

I have 3 daughters and I wanted them photographed separately, so I made 3 appointments. I am using the Groupon that you guys published to bring people in and have one for each daughter. I got a call saying that is not allowed you can only have one appointment with in a day. I explained and the gentleman said that is no problem we can do them all in one appointment, and now I know why, the photographer had no clue what she was doing, my kids pics have a bright flash circle around them and they told me I could only use one Groupon per customer per day, ok that's my bad I didn't read that in the fine print, but my kids are teens so if they would have done the way I originally had it they would have been a new customer each time. Totally unprofessional location and now only one of my kids got pictures done and they are not good photos. Such a waste of my only day off and my money read more

My first experience at this picture people was the worst...there is only one area for pictures, there was only one person working, they have limited props. I felt like I was being rushed the whole session, if there is a time limit I was not aware or told of such, the photographer couldn't get my son to smile and seemed bothered that I had request on how I wanted to pose my children...I managed to find 5 decent pictures out of what was given to me to view and chose the 5 sheets for $90...when the pictures were printed they looked nothing like how they looked on the computer. They were super washed out and pixelated..you would think with all the money you spend on pictures they would be high quality photos but no. Nonetheless I will not be returning to this location and I will try my luck at a further location hopefully my experience will be better... read more

I missed the name of the guy that was working tonight (8/4/17), but he did a great job given the circumstance. He was the only person working and was bombarded with people. Whoever does the scheduling and/or is the manager should be written up for the crap job they did. Nobody should be left alone to answer phones, take photos, and assist people in editing and picking photos. The phone was ringing off the hook, there was a woman picking out her photos alone, a family of over 10 people waiting to have their photos done, and a very pregnant woman waiting for maternity photos. I had called and made an appointment 3 days before thankfully, so I only ended up waiting 20 minutes or so after my original time. Everything was so hectic I ended up saying I'd pick my photos up in a few days because I genuinely didn't have the time to wait any longer. This poor guy handled everything like a champ and if it wasn't for that I'd only be giving 1 star! read more

Avoid this location. Arrived on time and set up with photographer but my baby got fussy so he offered us to settle her and we would be next in que. Once I nursed her and got her back to sleep I was informed by the manager that I would be placed on the walk in list with no guarantee of when they could squeeze me back in. She was not overtly rude but she lacked customer service and finesse. I explained that I respect their policy, but that was not explained by the photographer and I would not have agreed to wait an indeterminate period of time with a newborn. She did agree to accommodate me but we waited another 40 min. The photographers lack skill or creativity. They have a book of poses and backdrops and I reviewed with the photographer before hand the shots and backdrops I was interested in for the shoot of my infant. She nodded and proceeded with their standard white backdrop and white props (not one of the options I requested). Even through outfit changes she kept the same setup...smh! This is their standard to give everyone a white backdrop take 5 shots and go. Regrettably not until the end did I finally suggest a backdrop and prop change and that was the only decent and interesting photo. The 2 stars are for cheap prices and having a heater available for infants. read more

Made an appointment for Saturday evening. Arrived about 20 minutes early with my 8 month old fed, napped and happy. By the time we were called back about hour and twenty minutes past our appointment time not only was my 8 month old done but so were my husband and I. With that being said, had I felt as if ANY effort what so ever was put in by the staff to capture my family photos I wouldn't be writing this review. Sadly, that is NOT the case. We were rushed in and OUT. I'm unsure what the norm is but we got 13 photos. Most of which are not suitable for display or holiday cards as the babies shirt is lifted and skin showing, my shirt was all messed up from the wiggling over tired and now hungry baby. All in all i got two photos that were usable. I am sure some are asking why I purchased anything, we purchased the disk, only because had a 50% off coupon (even thought he lady in front of us got her disc for free, (between the cashier and her, oh and ME and anyone else standing in ear shot) and yes because I waited too long to go somewhere else and still get cards out in time this year (new mom here!). the regular price of the disc is 159, for 13 photos!!! Really!? Needless to say, I will not be going back to this place again and I strongly suggest all those thinking of to rethink. Unless, you like long waits and crappy results! read more

The photos were off center even after they cropped the same two poses in front of us. The photos were not cut to size, just left on the photo sheet. The photographer didn't look to see if hair needed moved/fixed, if head or neck should be titled for "normal" posture and ran out of direction for poses mid way through the session. It was difficult to find even the two poses of 12 due to pretty crappy choices. The background divider on the "good" photo was crooked. Disappointed in lack of skill. My blind dog could have done a better job. read more

Let me start by saying we have used picture people at least 3 times before and had horrible experience, the only reason we kept coming back was the groupon is a great deal. So this time we were already expecting a less then amazing experience but we were pleasantly surprised that everything turned out amazing we had an amazing experience thanks to our wonderful photographer Shellray he was 100% wonderful with my kids a 3 year old and a baby he took such amazing pictures of our kids it was very hard to chose! If picture people had great employees like this young man all the time they would probably have better reviews and happier costumers. Thank you Shellray for a fantastic experience! read more

Made an appointment for my son to have pictures, we got there 10 minutes early and only waited a few minutes before they took us in. The photographer was very patient with my almost 4 year old, who was being shy and then decided to direct the shoot and pic out his own props. We were in and out and had our all prints and cd and canvas within an hour. read more

Poor customer services. Photographer didn't explain the foto shooting process and the quality of the picture was poor. I don't recommend you wasting your money at this place. read more

After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant to go, but I had the best experience! The studio is a bit small, but Marsha was amazing! She was so patient with our 2 month old daughter, and she even got her to stop crying a few times (which I can barely do,lol). She had wonderful ideas for the pictures and they turned out fantastic! I would definitely recommend going, but only if Marsha is there! read more

I've been going to the Picture People in Manassas Mall, but I decided to try to get photos of my two kids for Mother's Day for the grandmothers at the last minute, so I decided to go closer to home. I had great experiences at the Manassas Mall location. I don't know if it was just a bad day for the photographer or what, but she was not easy to work with. My kids are 4 and 18 months old. My 4 year old was relatively OK, though the photographer seemed annoyed that she didn't understand the instructions. Telling my four year old to turn slightly and then getting annoyed when she doesn't understand is not ok. That said, it would have been fine had it not been for the way she was with my 18 month old. He's got stranger anxiety. Most 18 month olds do. The photographer didn't help. She didn't smile at him. She didn't give him any time to relax or get comfortable...and then she seemed very annoyed that he wasn't holding still or smiling for the camera immediately. The photographer also snapped at me several times. I was trying to help my son to be comfortable, and she told me that he was looking at me and it was ruining the pictures. So then I asked what she wanted me to do (not accusingly, in a "please tell me what would be helpful to you" way). When I asked, she ended the session. To be fair, she did spend about 20 minutes with us, but the vast majority of it came off as annoyed and exasperated. There were a couple of photos that I liked, but the experience overall was disheartening. We were one of the first appointments of the day, and we were the only ones there. I don't know why she was so disgruntled. I recognize that photographing small children isn't easy. But that is theoretically the specialty of this place. The photographer I dealt with acted as though she had no desire to interact with my kids at all, and that's a major problem in my book. I'll be driving the extra half hour to Manassas Mall in the future. read more

We have been here several times now and have always had a good experience. We try to get pictures done for the kids at least once a year and the ease and affordability of this location makes that possible for us! There are always several good photos to choose from and I never feel overly pressured to purchase more than I need. All in all, very happy to have a Picture People close by that we can count on for ease, affordability, and a good experience overall! read more

Arrived for our 12 pm appointment and a family came in not too far behind us for their 12:20 pm appointment. There was only one photographer and one studio room. As a result, the whole session was rushed and we were thrown into standard poses. We were also informed that there was only time for one wardrobe change for my son. I thought this was odd given that the website suggests you bring multiple props and outfits. I spent the whole time rushing him around and trying to get him ready for the next picture. The pictures came out okay, but not great, and we did end up purchasing them but overall, we did not enjoy the process. The photographer was just ok but didn't try very hard to connect with us or my son. As a result, many of the pictures were of my son with a blank stare. She was also rudely and impatiently bossing us around the shoot like we were inconveniencing her. The other employee who showed us our pictures after the session was very warm and friendly and actually took the time to talk to us and my baby...and got him to smile and coo. Overall, don't think we will be returning. read more

on 5/1 I contacted the Picture People located in the Potomac Mills mall to schedule an appointment by phone. The woman who answered the phone told me that I could just walk in and they could squeeze us in for a photo shoot. At 4:15pm that very day we came to the location ready to take pictures. When I approached the desk to ask how long the wait was a man by the name of Tyrell, rudely stated that the location closed at 5pm and that they could not take us. However, when I called earlier that day I was told the location closed at 6pm. There were also many signs posted at the location that listed the closing time as 6pm. When I informed Tyrell of what I was told he stated that "this is not my studio, im just here helping" and walked to the back to print out photos. He did not offer a solution and acted as if I was invisible standing at the front desk. After 10 minutes of me waiting for him to come back up to the desk to offer me a solution to the issue or complete the conversation, he finally came out of the back of the studio just to walk past me and assist the next person. At this point I was completely outraged at how rude and unprofessional Tyrell was. I then asked to speak with a manager, in which Tyrell raised his hand and said "you're looking at him". I then asked to speak with someone else, when Anne the photographer came from the back and told me that they would be able to squeeze us in for the photo-shoot and offered us a solution at the moment. However, Anne rushed through the shoot, using only one backdrop, which did not provide us with many options to choose from. I have worked in HR for many years now and I have to let you know that this is the worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. The lack of professionalism was completely unreal. read more
