This is the worst experience I had in my life! On December 21 2016 I took my baby girl to take pics. I purchased a red dress for $250.00 dollars and another outfit for $100.00. They took about an hour taking pics, and the girl was very rude and frustrated with my child because she wouldn't look the right way. In conclusion when everything was done and I went to see my pics I literally got 1 pic with the red dress lmfao and 2 with the tutu outfit!!!! The rest was pictures of all 3 sisters that I told them just want one with them together!!!!! I ask for the manager and she totally defended her worker and said the pics were not clear so they only have one!!!!!! Not sure how this place is still in business? Probably because mall management gave then free rent! I'm sure there's a reason for the one star rating they earned!!!! I specifically asked for wallet photos, instead, I got a full blown shoot so I can be deceived in buying more of their crappy photos. When I insisted on only what I originally came for, they gave me an uncut sheet of 8 pictures! What the HELL I'm I suppose to do with an uncut sheet of wallet pictures? When I asked the sub-human employee to cut it, she looked at me as if I had 2 heads for even suggesting such a task! I suppose they expect all people to have their cutting machines at home so they "the Photo People" can deliver half ass service! Never going back to this dump! What a bunch of morons. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a holiday photo session for my daughter and my sister's kids (4 kids in total) on 12/8/13 at 3:30 PM. We arrived at 3:10 and checked in. We were told that we had 2 people before us and it should be a 20 minute wait. This would have gotten us in for photos at the appointment time. We had no issues with that at all. However, we were still waiting at 4PM for our photos to be taken. We were taken into a room at 4:05PM...almost an hour after we checked in...and after we asked why we had been waiting so long. I think they were taking walk ins before people with appointments. The photographer was very nice but we felt rushed. We were done with photos within 3 minutes. 3 minutes of photos for 4 kids. There were other families there with one child that had a longer photo session. We were then told that we'd have a 10 to 15 minute wait to see our photos. We didn't see any photos until 4:40PM (30 minutes later). On top of everything, we weren't extremely happy with the photos. We only liked maybe 3 photos out of the 13 that we saw. We also felt rushed by the woman helping us pick photos. She was rude with us also when we asked to see all the pictures again and if we could have separate orders. We were told "no...one order per session" but when it came time to pay, we were able to split the cost with 2 credit cards...boggled my mind. We also did not receive our photos that day. We were told the printer was down and we wouldn't be able to get our photos until Tuesday (12/10/13). I received a "courtesy" call on Wednesday, 12/11/13 telling me the printer is still down but I "may" be able to pick up my photos later that day. The next phone call I received was on Thursday night at 10PM telling me my photos were available for pickup....and then again on Friday afternoon telling me the same thing. I didn't receive my photo album number by email so I could look at the photos again. I did contact the store about this and was told that they need to print my order first before they can give me the album number. I do realize that it is holiday time and it was busy but I was so disappointed with my experience there. As an ending note, I contacted the parent company about my experience at this location and basically received an apology and a statement saying how the employees at that store may need more "training". I was surprised that no one from the actual store contacted me about my experience. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, even if it's a groupon. Our appointment was at 2pm, an hour later they called us, by then my almost 1 year old daughter wasn't having any of it. All the pictures she was red and screaming. It seemed like they only cared about the families who were getting their holiday pictures done. Or maybe because I was uaing a Groupon, that's why the service was shotty. It was highly disappointing. We were there for 2 hours. I would not recommend this place at all. I emailed corperate. Came here because of Groupon. Will never visit again. The appointments were overbooked. One photographer with 4 customers waiting and they were still taking walk-ins who were told they can't leave the studio. Being 15 minutes early we waited 1 hr to have our picture taken. With a 1 month old baby, the prolonged wait was extremely nerve racking. Taking the actual pictures took 10-15 minutes. Then we were told to wait 20 minutes for the pictures to be ready. It's digital b*tch, all you have to do is sync the pix. Why would that take 20 minutes?! We ended up waiting almost 2 hours. We were pissed and ready to leave without the pictures. But seeing how we waited so long already and it was baby's first studio pix. We toughed it out. With 16 proofs and maybe 3 decent picture. The staff who was unfriendly earlier became the salesperson of the year trying to get you to purchase pictures. This was one of the worst experience ever. I went to Picture People on a whim due to the fact that I needed to get at least one good picture of my daughter looking at the camera. I had a gift card from my baby shower & figured what the heck. Normally I get my daughter's pictures taken by a private photographer & I've never been to an actual photo place before. First I went to picturepeople.com to try to make an appointment that way, but since I wanted the an appointment that same day - it showed they were booked so I decided to call. Thankfully, they had an appointment opened so I was able to go get her pictures taken that day. When I got to my appointment they took me right away. Sarah was our photographer. She was super nice, my daughter was loving her & she took such adorable photos. After her pictures were taken, the MOD Stephen helped me pick pictures. He was very nice & helpful as well. I told him I wanted a high resolution CD which was $150.00. I also purchased a $125 picture frame with photos (all frames at Picture People are $125.00 no matter the size). Since I was purchasing the frame & the CD he told me I could save $20.00 by purchasing some photo sheets. I got 5 sheets of photos any size that I wanted so I purchased two sheets of wallets, an 8x10 & 2 sheets of 5X7's. He also signed me up for Picture People rewards which was normally $50.00 but he gave it to me for free being that I spent over $150.00. I honestly thought this place did a great job. I love the fact that you get your pictures back on the same day. And if you just purchase a $150.00 High Resolution CD you'll get all of the pictures that they took & you can print everything out yourself without spending extra money at the studio. I've been using Picture People for 4 years. I love the coupons they send out for holiday and birthdays. $18 for 25 pictures, one pose. Today, we arrived at 10am for my son's first birthday shoot and finshed by 11am. We have never finished in an hour. Usually, there are a lot of children screaming and running around, a very long wait after taking the pictures to make your selection, and another long wait for the printed photos. I'd say we lucked out today! read more

This place focuses way too much on trying to sell you overpriced packages and frames and not enough time on quality photographs. This will be the last time I go there, next time I'll just hire a local photographer that's more interested in the process then on the sale. I felt like I was buying a used car with the way they kept shuffling around the different package prices and being shady on pricing. I asked multiple times to see a list of the different packages to choose from and was given 4 different excuses. Hit or miss. I've been there 3 times. First time was for Xmas photos. They came out good, but only a few out of the bunch. In December, we went here for holiday photos again. We spent a lot of money to have a photographer come to our home for newborn photos only a few weeks earlier, so wanted photos cheaper for Xmas. Our youngest was only 6 weeks, and this guy, young with a middle eastern name, spent NO time even attempting to get semi decent shots of her. My oldest was posing away, but when it came to pictures of her and the baby together, he was afraid to move her, kept snapping and snapping while she was looking every which way or fussing. The icing on the cake, was when he decided to "Just leave the pacifier in and I'll take pictures." Are you kidding? Why the hell would I pay for professional pictures of my kid, pictures we wanted to put on Xmas cards, with her with a pacifier in her mouth? This guy literally could have given 2 shits and just wanted us in and out. Then they put my daughter against the famous "white background", again, why would good studio use a white background which will wash most people. The lighting was so bad, it looked like she blended in with the background lol. And for holiday photos nevertheless? Well, when the girl showed us the pictures, who looked and acted miserable, there was not one decent photo, except of one of just my older daughter, out of I think 18-20 photos. They were horrendous and long story short I did not buy ANY photos. So, we had not holiday photos this year to send out. Great huh. The girl who went through the pictures seemed to get an attitude once she heard I liked none of the pictures. Oh well. We gave them a third shot recently, and I was EXTREMELY hesitant to do this, but this time we got Sara. She was great with our 4 month old and we got at least some pictures that came out adorable. We got a ton of pictures, one pose only which was fine for us, for $18 dollars. I would go back, but only to Sara and would recommend to request her, especially if you have an infant/baby. Would I use them for really special pictures like 1st bday? Nah, I'll pay the money and use a freelance photographer or other studio, but for cheap in-between type pictures and with this particular photographer, I would. read more

Awful! Beginning to end. The MOD this past Saturday was not people friendly and the "photographer" was also rude. This place is a jungle and they take horrible pictures. Don't even bother going for the cheap deal they have. It's not even worth it unless you want to leave with a migraine and 3 hrs later. Poor kids. Don't put them through that. I don't know why so many bad reviews. I found them on groupon. They accommodate it us on a very short notice. We had a large group for my newborn photo shoot. 8 adults and 2 children including NB. Sara our photographer was very active and sweet. Yes packages do get a little expensive but Sara managed to offer few offers that were great at the end pictures were beautiful at the memory of the moment is what makes it worth it. Four stars cause you have to come prepared with your ideas in mind. I thought that they would have a book full of pictures and ideas to look at. They've lost a good customer... This location is guilty of bait and switch tactics. I've been there twice to photograph my daughter, once when she was 3 months and more recently when she turned 2. The first go around I came in with a special package offer from their website. The photographer was great at posing and getting her to smile, we had a few great pictures to choose from. When it came down to the online offer they refused to honor it at first, giving me one excuse after another. I literally had to pull up their website on my phone with the offer in order for them to honor it. More recently I came in with an offer I got via email for 25 pictures of one shot for $18. They only took 18 pictures total. Once again the photographer was great at getting her to smile and almost all the pictures were great. I had a hard time choosing just one. I inquired as to if the $18 package came with the low resolution CD of all of the pictures and was told that the only CD they offer is $150. I really wanted the CD to share the pictures with my family and have as my desktop background on my work computer. Because of the fact that they said this was the only CD I decided to get an additional sheet of 5 4x6 pictures of another shot for $18. No CD. I was really disappointed. Later I checked their website to find out they offer two other CD types, one for "business" head shots for $75 and the other the low resoltuion CD that I had inquired about for $35. Had I known this CD was available I would have made a different choice when it came to the seond sheet I purchased. The next day I spoke to the manager Stephanie and she was basically nonchalant about the whole situation and it didn't seem like she was even going to tell me about the other CD's available either until I told her what the website said. Even so she quoted the CD at $45 when on the website it's $35. I don't know if all locations are like this but I won't be going to Picture People again. read more

I tried them three separate times and the experience was always awful but this last visit was over the top. We arrived ten minutes early for our appointment and still waited an hour and 15 minutes even though the place was pretty empty. Our photographer, Vinny, acted like he had better things to do and rushed us through our session saying what great shots he'd gotten. We then waited another hour before we even got to see the shots, which were horrible. In the end we were there two and a half hours and had no Christmas card or family photo to show for it. I complained to the manager who offered to schedule another session. The kicker was when they called two weeks later to ask if I was going to order any pictures from that session! I told the girl no, and explained what had happened. Her reply: "No problem. I just wanted to know if you planned on ordering anything". I will never go back there again. Brought our newborn in for photos. Photographer just wanted to take the shots she wanted to, missing all the great ones. The lady who went over the photos at the end, was extremely rude. My wife asked to look at a photo we already looked at, and was given an attitude. Photos came out OK, nothing special. Feet, hands, and heads cut off in many of them. Not too professional, but they charge like they're one of the kind. Stay away. read more

My sons 1st Christmas pictures were terrible. A photographer named Vinny with look curly wild hair was terrible. I'm never one to complain but he did not have the patience with kids. My son is 10 months old and was moving around the set. "Vinny" was getting annoyed and said the shots he got was perfect when my son wasn't even the focus in the shots. I wanted a different background so he said there will be a 10 min wait - I said no problem I'll wait. He said he doesn't have the time to. I was not so crazy about my pictures from Picture People. The photographer was great but the picture quality was horrible. I chose a picture of my baby on a white background and it was in such a soft focus that the edges of my baby are blending in to the background! I wanted them to reprint or reshoot but everyone who worked in the store tried to convince me that it was just the lighting and whiteness of the baby (!) and that the pictures were absolutely fine but when I left and showed the pictures to my friends they all asked me why the picture is blurry. Even my husband thought the picture was blurry. He does not want to hang it up on our wall! Luckily I did not spend a lot of money or time. You really do get what you pay for sometimes. I really wish the pictures were in better focus. Maybe if they would have been able to use picture editing software and press "sharpen" it would have made all the difference in the world. The guy in the store wouldn't let me scroll through the pictures (he scrolled for me) so I didn't have enough time to make a better decision and I only chose 1 picture in the store. I went online but the other pictures were not much better. They were all too "soft". It made me squint. I would rather spend the extra money next time and go somewhere better. read more

What a HORRIFIC experience. I will never go back. I had an appointment on 12/1/16 at 12 pm with my 3 month old daughter. Online it says to schedule the appointment when your baby will be up and happy and active. So I did. My daughter took a nap. I fed her at the Dunkin' Donuts in the mall so she would have a nice full belly and we walked over to The Picture People for 12pm. After standing at the counter for 15 minutes the manager finally signed us in. Then 1.5+ hours later we finally started taking pictures. So now my wide awake playful infant was ready for another nap. But we tried to get in a few photos anyway. They had a red barn background that I liked. I wanted a picture of my daughter with the tree on the barn background. The girl told me they have to start with white. I KNEW that after waiting for 2 hours already my daughter would not be up and happy much longer but still I HAD to do the white background. Then I HAD to do the snowflake background. Apparently the photographer would get in trouble if these backgrounds were not on the film. Then came the props. They had 1 -ONE- of each prop. So now we had to wait and negotiate and rush because we either needed a prop or someone needed what we had. So after a few poses my daughter (now up for 3 hours) was cranky and just wanted a nap. I'm not going to take pictures of her screaming and crying or make her sit there upset so we stopped. So now it's about 3 hours later and I STILL have no picture of my daughter with a tree. We wait another hour to view the pictures and I tell the girl I'm not happy and asked her if I can get a picture of her with the tree on the barn background. She said yes, we went back in the room and waited for the tree ... but then all the other props were being used! So she put my daughter in a bucket and took a crooked picture that even shows the portion of the room beyond the backdrop and that was it. So 4 hours and I have a few pictures of my daughter on a white background. I could have laid a white sheet on my couch and took a picture and saved myself the time! I had a gift card so I got the CD because I wanted to use it up and NEVER return. Looking at the pictures you would think I gave a 10 year old a white sheet and a camera and told them to take some pictures. It's embarrassing. I talked to the manager at the site and told her that it doesn't make sense to tell people with babies to come at a certain time and then make them wait 2 hours to get started. I told her I was unhappy and she told me that "the kids this morning were not behaving" WHAT?! You are in the business of working with kids. So maybe get another photographer on staff or don't overbook the place to accommodate the "misbehaving children"!So I contacted the picture people facebook page via messenger 12/1 and was assured that someone would reach out to take care of this for me and that the "customers are the heart of the business". On 12/4 I still didn't hear anything so I sent another message and was told to wait 48 hours because they are busy. I reached out again on 12/7 and they asked me which location I went to. Now it's 12/10 and I have STILL not been contacted to resolve this issue. Seriously it's not even worth the hassle. I can't even believe they are still in business. read more

These people didn't even try to be nice to us! It was ridiculous having to wait for an hour and a half. We came at 11:20 on the dot, we had to wait for my aunt who had a 3-month-old baby on her hands already. We were a family of 7 including my cousins.We waited until 12:00 until she came. During this time the lady at the register kept asking us when this person was going to come. She kept telling us that we'd have to make another appointment for 2:00 if we wanted to take a picture if she came any later. After she finally arrived we took the photos. Let's just say they looked like someone gave a 4-year-old a camera and started snapping away. After taking all different types of pictures I sat down while my parents took a look at the photos. So many things were wrong with it! We waited a half an hour just to get the photos on the computer. Since we came here using groupon we used the deal that we got. Half of the pictures were horrid. When we ordered a 10 by 12 they just blew up the picture and gave it! No adding filters, nothing! This is the worst picture place I have ever been too. To top that all off they were as rude as heck! They rushed us through all the pictures and use the only pictures that looked bad and made us chose. This was ridiculous, don't waste your money on this like I have. read more

If I could give this place less than one stI was utterly dissapppointed by my experience. I brought my son there for his first birthday photos. Elena, the so called photographer, was rude and impatient. The studio was completely empty. No one waiting and the next appointment came in well after we were finished. I came in a few minutes early and check in but I was waiting for my husband to come with balloons. Elena stated we should warm up and take a few pictures to get the baby warmed up to the camera. She brought out a mushroom, never asking if that was ok as a prop, and started taking pictures. I didn't protest it because as I stated she just wanted the baby to warm up. After a few minutes she wanted to move on the cake smash. I was very confused as I thought we were just warming the baby up to the camera. Elena apparently was done. I asked her for different backgrounds being that all the ones she had chosen we had used for his waster photos. She brushed me off as if those were the only backgrounds available. I had a few props of my own but she did not want me to use them. She couldn't give us a reason why when we asked. I requested a number one prop and she brought up a broken up small 1 that was visably damaged in the pictures. This was supposed to be something fun to do with my son on his first birthday to create a memory. I had every intent to purchase the whole session prior to my experience but I felt that her work did not meet my expectations and I was completely disappointed with her unwillingness to accommodate my requests. I left feelin that I would have to redo the entire session somewhere else. I purchased the $18 photo package so that I wouldn't lose the photos completely and could sleep on it. A day later I feel not only did I lose the money I spent on the photos but also the money For the cake I purchased for the cake smash, the balloons, and all my time spent at your studio. This was my second experience with this particular "photographer" and it is safe to say it will be my last. read more

So completely disappointed and disgusted by the experience had inside the Staten Island Mall. Number one the best Shots were the poses that I thought of myself for my son and my family. There was no creativity from the photographer. She wanted my son to sit on the floor. I saw a cute bench and a number 2 and had my son sit on it with the number 2 and pic came out adorable. I absolutely hate that the manager and photographers choose which pictures to delete before allowing you to view. These are pictures of MY child and they deleted them. There was a beautiful pictures that she took a close up of and I asked her to take it far away because my son was smiling so beautifully and she only allowed us to view the close up and I Had to choose a different picture for the print. Then they were extremely impatient while I was trying to pick my photos. They tried to charge me full price for the 3 picture frame meanwhile I had a groupon. The prices are absolutely disgusting. It's insane that you cannot combine coupons and absolutely disgusting that aside from our $26 groupon we paid $192 alone for a frame and a CD. My digital image included in my groupon was NOT emailed to me as stated and as manager said would happen and we waited over THREE hours for our pictures. This place is a complete rip off! We took so many images and then they narrow it down and only give you 18 to choose from and they want you to narrow it down from there. They tell you only the expensive deals and try to confuse you with all these numbers and prices and deals and promotions and memberships and don't give you a second to breathe. You feel pressured to buy and don't know which way to look because the sales associate is staring you down waiting for you to make a decision but you are just so confused and all he does is give you more options of packages and prices that gets even more confusing. We came with a groupon ticket that couldn't have been more misleading and when we left we asked for a bag and was answered with such a disgusting no and then we asked if there was a way we can seal the envelope which again we received a rude and abrupt response. They are only in it for the money and once they get it they want nothing to do with you they are on to the next money sale.
