Hours are a bit limited, the rental process is a bit haphazard compared to the polish of their larger competitors, and the tiny gear I picked up was given to me in a Pelican-style case that was easily ten times bigger than it needed to be-- not the most convenient to transport... Also, unlike their larger competitors, I find it hard to believe they do comprehensive testing of their gear-- they simply don't have the volume to afford optical benches and whatnot. Not blaming them, just the nature of a small business vs. a large one, and an inherent limitation to be aware of. Gear seemed to be well taken care of cosmetically. Prices are pretty fair, customer service is pretty good, and hard to argue with the convenience if you're already in the area.

They'll also cancel your order if you don't respond to this "authorization email" within 3 hours. That's insane to me. Never in my life have I seen a more antiquated, convoluted process in my life. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. Please, save yourself the money and put it towards a business with better processes and good customer service because The Lens Depot has neither.

You expect the gear to be in good condition and the experience to be pleasant. That would make for a 4 star experience in my book. But, Doug went above and beyond the call of duty. From helping me pick exactly what I needed and nothing I didn't, to communicating with my insurance company to make sure they had all the information I needed in the right place so that I would be properly covered should something go wrong. I called the man at the last minute "You got a slider?" the answer was "Yup" and it was promptly picked up. My delivery guys dropped the ball so Doug brought the gear to my shooting location which was luckily not too far from his office but still, way above and beyond what I expect a gear rental business to do. The best way I can describe it is pride of work. I will ALWAYS rent from Pro Gear Orlando!
