Good value! Owner was kind of funny... l asked him what kind of cheeses were in his 4 cheese sandwich, he didn't want to tell me because he feared his next door competition would find out! My cousin' s salad looked great, check it out! read more

I came here with my partner and his parents for dinner and we enjoyed different burgers and their spicy fish and chips- the blue cheese burger was delicious and the spice on the fish and chips were amazing. (Side note: their bbq sauce was made in house and also very good!) We didn't really get to try their beer selection and I've heard great things about their nachos, so we'll have to return! There weren't a ton of folks when we'd gone since we arrived fairly early, but it started to fill up as the evening went on. Additionally, my partner had left behind a backpack and they kept it safe for when they opened the next available day- really honest people and service! They do accept card for payment as well.

But I was pleasantly surprised when I went there for drinks one evening. I chose the homemade ice tea as usual and have become quite an expert in this field, so trust me when I say this one was reaaallyy good! They basically make it as if it was a cocktail so they take their time and use nice ingredients. And by that I mean it has the quality of a cocktail but definitely not the price! All the drinks have very reasonable prices and it is therefor the perfect place to go with friends and stay for a few hours without ending up completely broke. The atmosphere also lends itself for fun nights with friends and the decoration is cool with a view on a very tiny but green and jungly garden. It may not have the "wauw" interior you'll find in some other places but it's definitely more casual, friendly and budget-proof than the super hip places you'll find in the neighborhood. It's a perfect in-betweener for when you don't want to spend a lot of money in a too fancy place but still want to sit in a nice looking bar with a friendly and easy feel.

The rabbit meat was surprisingly tender and the stew/sauce added some nice flavor. For those who haven't had rabbit before, it takes kind of like chicken to be honest, just with smaller bones. I think the price was okay considering the quality and type of dish. The fresh grapefruit juice (€5.80) was very good too. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I was seated right away and the service speed was pretty quick. They have a decently sized indoor space as well as outdoor patio seating. The environment has a traditional Belgian restaurant/pub kind of vibe. Overall, Le Bistro has high quality traditional Belgian food in a pleasant setting and I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area near Porte de Hal / Marollen.
