There are 21 pickleball courts, a tennis court, and some nice grandstand-style outdoor seating that offers a great view of the action. For open play, one side is 2.5-3.0 and the other is 3.5-4.0. Yesterday morning, the higher-level side had about two courts of advanced-level players. There's even a water and ice machine, plus a misting fan. A portable WC and hand wash station are on-site. There's also a small selection of Selkirk gear, and I was happy to come away with a nice bag along with some merch to remember my visit. There are excellent membership options as well--great value that I would absolutely recommend for anyone in the area. I'll definitely be back once Miles and Uta return from their well-deserved summer break on 10/16/25! I had the pleasure of speaking with Miles quite a bit; he mentioned that February and March tend to be especially busy. All of the folks I played with were incredibly welcoming and friendly, with Miles on hand for much of it. They have a focus on tennis and do a good job getting people involved. Residents have access to the courts, but non-residents can also join the club and play tennis here. We have friends from Palm Desert who don't have tennis in their communities, and chose to join PDTC. One service that sets PDTC apart is that pros are available about every day, and help organize games for you. Tell Melanie your level and when you want to play and she can find you a game. "I'm in town and would like to play Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9. I'm a 4.0 and would like to play men's doubles." You can probably get a pretty good game organized. After a few days you might be able to build up a network of local players at your level. There is also a group of advanced players 4.5 and up, which can be harder to find. They also have pickleball if you like that sort of thing. The homes are comfortable condos arranged in groups of 20 units surrounding a pool and hot tub. You're close to El Paseo and the dining and shopping options of Palm Desert so you have a good location going for you here also.

I remembered someone recommending Pete Carlson's, checked the website, saw they closed at 6pm, and we raced across town. We pull up and a man wearing a helmet, about to leave on his scooter, yells over that they actually closed at 5. It was 5:10. Any parent knows what came next: "Great, Mom! Now I have no racket or shoes for tryouts!" I pulled up the website to show him it said 6pm, fully expecting him to ride off into the sunset and tell us to come back tomorrow. Instead, he parked his scooter, took off his helmet, looked at my daughter and said, "We can't have you going to tryouts with no racket or shoes. Follow me -- let's get you what you came for." Enter Raul, the unicorn of customer service. He reopened the store for us and then proceeded to give us some of the most thorough, genuinely caring customer service I've experienced. He didn't rush us AT ALL. He took the time to help my daughter find the right racket and tennis shoes so she could walk into varsity tryouts feeling confident and prepared. And Raul apparently isn't the only one drinking the magical customer-service water over there. I had previously called with a tennis question and that employee was fantastic too. Clearly, great service is part of the culture here. What also impressed me was how much pride Raul takes in his job and how highly he spoke of the owner and the hard work that grew the business from a small area in front into the large store it is today. You could tell he genuinely cares about the business and its customers. There are plenty of big-box sporting goods stores, but this experience reminded me why supporting businesses like Pete Carlson's matters. The condos are quite old, and the shared areas are not well maintained, other than the landscaping. Rude clicky kind of neighbors, no peaceful place to enjoy anything that is good. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. I cannot speak to the tennis and pickleball courts, as I do not play. Looking forward to leaving.

I was testing out a putter on the practice green and simply moving golf balls out of the holes and toward the side of the putting surface when an employee abruptly approached me in a rude and demeaning manner, accusing me of "kicking his balls," which was completely untrue. The way he spoke to me was unnecessary, insulting, condescending, and unprofessional from the very beginning. When I asked for his name, he replied "Jim, the assistant manager" with a cocky attitude before walking away. About 10 minutes later, after apparently getting off his shift and changing clothes, Jim approached me again and sarcastically asked if I needed help with the putter. Considering the disrespectful way he had already spoken to me, I found it strange and antagonistic that he came back over at all. I told him I didn't understand why he was even speaking to me after treating me the way he did. The entire interaction left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, especially coming from someone in a management position. I will be contacting corporate because customers should never be treated in such a hostile and condescending manner.

We literally only did half of the store as it was massive. There's sections along the sides where you can practice your swings electronically. A putting green right in the middle to practice. Besides all the clubs and accessories, half of the store had a big apparel department with loads to choose from. There was so many clubs to choose from as well as whatever you may or may not need. If you're a golfer, this is like Willy Wonka factory but golf. Worth checking out.

As a security guard who has worked the graveyard shift at The Springs, I can speak from firsthand…read moreexperience about serious issues I have witnessed within the community. The clubhouse and the Oasis have an apparent rodent and pest problem, including rats and cockroaches, particularly noticeable during nighttime patrols around and outside the buildings. This is a serious sanitation and property-management concern that should not be ignored. I have also personally witnessed what I believe to be inappropriate pressure placed on security personnel by certain HOA directors. In one instance involving 56 Dartmouth, I was instructed to cite an individual's Cadillac even though, based on what I observed, the vehicle was parked on the street and was not blocking a driveway or mailbox. I refused to issue the citation because I did not believe there was a legitimate violation. From my perspective, this raised serious concerns about whether security enforcement was being used to target a particular resident rather than being applied consistently and fairly throughout the community. Security officers should be enforcing established rules and regulations--not being pressured to act based on personal disputes or the preferences of individual HOA directors. These are issues that deserve transparency, accountability, and independent review. If people want to hear more about what I have personally witnessed while working security at The Springs, I have additional information and experiences that I can share.
