I signed up my son in advance and we headed out for our first visit and were so impressed with not only the venue itself, but how organized and friendly the staff were. On the day we were there, the water happened to be out, but due to everything else being 5 star worthy, I am not docking a star for that ;). (They did supply bottled water and directions for nearby restrooms)... Hopefully that issue is resolved by now! The club itself is state of the art with great fenced in courts, spectator sitting areas, a members' lounge, a pro shop, beautiful locker rooms, and plenty of food and beverage options. It's also located in a shopping center with plenty of parking and other food / retail nearby. While this location is a bit of a drive for us, I have a feeling we'll be making the trek again in the future... and really look forward to their Scottsdale location opening in September as that one will be a bit closer to us!

Pickleball has quickly become a favorite activity for the family, myself included, and we've been…read morechecking out as many pickleball venues (indoor and out) whenever possible. We went to Picklemall yesterday (on a Thursday evening) and it was packed! I am sure the rainy weather had something to do with it, but I guess we are not the only ones obsessed with playing... In fact, the "open play" that we thought we'd be able to jump into was all booked up for the evening. Luckily, one friend had a court reserved, and another one randomly appeared with another court reserved as well... So, we all got to play and get a little exercise! While there, I was introduced to some of the Picklemall staff including Chance, Hector, and Zach. I created accounts for the entire family and learned about all kinds of programming that Picklemall offers. I was quite impressed to learn that members and non-members are both welcome to participate in on-site events and programming including tournaments, clinics, social events and more. It sounds like there are options for players of all skill levels too. I've since learned that if you use the Picklemall app, you can easily get access to your gameplay footage, which sounds super cool... We are already planning on returning soon. See you there!

He uses terminology congruent to the game, then explains what the term mean. He's patient, and praises attempts, all the while reinforcing the fundamentals and always keeping the basics in focus. He repeats key concepts and explains how they build on the play of the game. He's concerned about safety making sure proper footwear is worn, sunscreen is applied, water beaks are taken and repeating if a ball is missed or on the ground, let it go so not to roll an ankle.

I've played recreationally here on occasion as well. The courts are great and if you're looking for indoor pickleball, you can't go wrong here. However, this Picklr doesn't compare to many of the others I've been to when you compare the facilities beyond the courts. For example, the locker rooms are super dated and dingy, the water fountain definitely doesn't seem like it is the cleanest, and it's more common than not that there are few to no snacks available. So... take that for what it's worth and have fun playing pickleball where ever you end up!

The new owner told us we could not drill together any longer and would have to hire one of their certified coaches. I'm 77, Rick 68, and my wife 71. We are almost always the only ones in the Picklr from 7 to 9 each morning. Today no one was there till we were leaving at 9. The new owner said we were being coached. We explained we never paid any of us anything be we were drilling to get better. He said we were being coached because Rick was tossing balls to my wife to drill. REALLY BAD PR. No coaching, just drilling together for the last couple of ;years. So REALLY SAD. BEWARE at any facility that your not allowed to drill any longer without hiring their coaches.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a putter re-gripped. Browsed the store and the gentleman…read moreworking finished regripping within 5 minutes (~$20). Inquired about getting club heads reglued because they seemed dangerously close to flying off, but the gentleman said they were fine unless for aesthetic purposes. They have a very fast turnaround time for head replacements, re-gripping, re-shafting, and I'm sure everything else. A friend wanted to get his driver re-shafted, and they said it could be done by the next day! This is contingent on Jeff (owner) working, but they seem quite flexible. Lots of golf equipment (clubs, putters), accessories (towels, practice balls, ball retriever). Golf sim and putting green to try out clubs. As for pickleball item, there is a mini pickleball court to try out paddles and balls (Franklins, Vulcan VPROs, etc.), notably a $40 demo basket with some good selections. Good sales on random attire (skirts, polos, shirts), as well as shoes, bags, and more. Great local and honest business for all your golfing and pickleball needs with extremely friendly and helpful staff!

The demo program is completely free and no obligation to purchase from them afterward, although I personally love to support local businesses. It's a great way to try to before you buy. I've been playing pickleball casually on and off over the years with my family when time allows…read more.. an evening here, a weekend day there, during some downtime on an out of town trip, etc... We'd mostly just hit around until recently when we started playing a bit more competitively and more often... and that's when I realized how much I love the game and that I want to learn, improve, and play more often! Practice could only get me so far as I had never really taken a lesson... I'd been following Seidwinder Pickleball for awhile and know Andrew from his involvement in the local community. He's an excellent baseball / softball coach, and super patient with the kids. I signed up for his "Pickleball 102 - Advanced Beginners/Low-Intermediate - RISING STAR CLASS," that took place at the Phoenician on a recent Thursday morning. It was a fabulous experience! I appreciate the Seidwinder class philosophy that they teach their clinics just like they do to the resort guests... with a mindset of making the most of your time together and squeezing in plenty of tips and tricks to advance your pickleball game. They limit the guests to 8 maximum per clinic and in the one that I took, there were 5 of us total. Andrew had a great balance with getting us moving and doing all kinds of drills to teaching and demonstrating. He is super positive and personable and a pleasure to learn from... as promised, we had some doubles play time at the end of the two hour clinic focused on positioning, strategy and shot selection. They just opened at the beginning of the month...so the few glitches in the system is not a surprise. They are adding classes all the time but the demand is high. I think this is due to just newly opening Did the Mother's Day massage and facial. Maria was amazing! I have taken a cycling class called Amp. Good class higher intensity Can't wait for the new classes coming I also went to a Dynamic Stretch session. Wow. Noticed a difference in my squat within the hour. Into to Pilates was very informative and I suspect I will be taking more The Dante Jam class was so much fun. But expect to burn some calories! Next trying Yoga. Mat Pilates, and Intro to Pickleball

Day pass pricing at the Gilbert location is $50 for adults and $30 for children, which feels high for what's offered. In the family locker room, several lockers were not functioning properly. Assistance was requested, and it was mentioned that the locker selected was already known to be broken, though it didn't appear to be marked or addressed to prevent the same issue for others. The pool area felt underwhelming and quiet. The hot tub is restricted to ages 12 and up, which may be limiting for families with younger children. Overall, staff interactions felt minimal and the environment wasn't particularly welcoming or engaging.
