Plenty of competition quality tables. A practice table with a programmable robot. Loaner paddles, lockers, drinks for sale, and a fridge to keep drinks cold. Pay to play, memberships available. Santiam is a fairly straightforward golf course. You won't find stunning vistas, challenging hole…read morelayouts or other features associated with top courses. What you will find is a very well-maintained public track that offers good golf for a low price. - Layout is a lot of back and forth. Many holes seem to resemble one another. Still, the holes are very playable and will test your skills. - Fairways. It was wet when I played and it had been raining but the fairways maintained their condition with good course drainage. Still a lot of mud on the ball so we played lift, clean and replace. - Greens are in great shape. There aren't a lot of ridiculous contours, just reasonable slopes that require a fair amount of green reading skills. The fringes are in good shape, too. - Bunkers. I only visited one but it played well even with the moisture. The course does not have an excessive number of traps. - Hazards. Trees are you main concern (and there are some magnificent specimens on the course) but watch out for hidden water. It's not on many holes but what is there is a bit sneaky. Rough is not very rough. - Carts are no frills electric. Mine worked fine. - Practice facilities are limited. Santiam has a decent practice green but a very small driving range. No short game area. Santiam's prices are very reasonable. Low even. The pro shop is small but if you need something, they might have it. There's a nice cafe/grill in the building as well.

The review is for the fields. We went here recently for a soccer tournament. Overall, it is a…read morevery nice facility with natural grass fields. It was a large tournament and I think that overall they did a very good job. It was nice to see a few food stands with a variety of items. Due to timing of games, didn't partake of the food, but it did look good (espeically the taco stand). The fields were in really good shape for the most part. They had a no dog rule in place, which was nice. The only real issue is parking. They did a pretty nice job of organizing it, but there is only one way in and one way out on to a two lane road with a nearby stoplight. Given that, it took a while to get out of the lot, especially since I was parked near the entrance the first time (lesson learned).

There are two fields to play in. One is a speed ball field that is just inflatables, lots of open area. The other field is a wooded area that offers a wood tank, a fort, a Log fort, a 1950's Car, a huge metal pipe and bunkers. The field is border with netting to protect people not playing from getting it. There is a lot of cover and concealment. There is a staging area with table and the shop/store. The shop is just a wooden shed but that is where you check in, fill air, buy paint or snakes. They offer rental guns, masks, and protective vest. Their equipment is quite nice and kept in good order. There prices are pretty good, better than other fields. If you paid for all day air they will remind you to fill before the start of every game. You have to sign a waiver but the nice thing is you can do it online. Game play is run by at least two referees, they control the games really well. They wear bright clothing so you see them and they are fair. They call out player that have been hit and just to see if player have been hit. They use whistles to let everyone know the start and end of games. They run several types of games. I use a fake bomb that must be disarmed. Looks like real and has a countdown, if you don't disarm in time it blows up (sounds an alarm). There is two way to disarm one buy pressing a button to 60 sec or pull one of four plugs. If you pull the wrong plug you blow up. Overall this place is great and I would come back. CON is the bathroom. It's a long walk down a steep hill. You have to use the camps bathroom. The bathroom is nice but I rather have a port a potty they have to make that walk again.
