We suspected the limits in our homeowner policy were too low to cover our losses in the event of a…read moredisaster, so we requested a revised quote from our insurance agent. When that person never returned our call, I asked to speak to a different agent at Alta Vista Insurance Agency. Dawn Grant was exceptionally helpful. She clearly explained some complex insurance concepts, including the history behind them. She also confirmed that our limits appeared to be below industry standard and suggested some that our carrier was likely to approve. She then requested a revised quote from our carrier, including the option of increasing our deductible to help offset the increased cost. The carrier approved the request. And, to our surprise, increasing the deductible more than offset the cost to increase our coverage limits, and our total annual premium dropped nearly $100 a year. Since we'd already paid our premium for the year, the carrier automatically refunded the difference to our credit card. This whole process took less than two weeks, and most of the process was handled online. I highly recommend Dawn and hope to have her help us if we have other issues.
