Having family in the area, I've heard about this local grocery store. The store is not that large which is surprising for this area. I may have stepped into this place once or twice. The store is conveniently located near a busy highway and other busy businesses so the place was steady with customers. It had appeared to be ample amount of parking. I had stopped in to pick up some ready to eat shrimp tray for a family gather. I looked and looked for some ready to eat shrimp then I decided to look for alternative ready to go appetizers besides the typical cheese / meat / cracker trays....nothing. I was able to find a frozen shrimp tray but that would not able to help me. Maybe I'm just used to a large city grocery store with various ready to go appetizers and other options. As looking around, the store did carry enough items for the size of the store. I will need to plan ahead to avoid this smaller store. read more

Pick N Save - a hand holding a piece of food - Grocery Near Me - Columbus, Wisconsin

I ordered some custom cupcakes from the bakery that were designed to look like little hamburgers and sweet corn. I was completely impressed with the results! Very realistic and everybody's reaction to seeing them was "So Cute"!, "Adorable!", "AWWW!". I agree wholeheartedly and have placed additional orders for them. The baker that makes these is named Carrie. read more

Pick N Save - Little Burgers - Grocery Near Me - Columbus, Wisconsin

Having been a shopper at this store throughout my life as it's close(ish) to my parents' house. Tt's a lot better than it used to be. It's the only supermarket in Columbus and sometimes I think that means it is a bit lax (in that it has no big competition for much). It has a small liquor department and a bakery and a little deli counter. The produce range is limited, but decent for the size of the store. It gets three stars because there's nothing particularly wrong with it, but if I go there grocery shopping with my mother there's always at least one thing we find that she'll have to go elsewhere to get. But in a store of its size, the stock obviously won't be as diverse as in a larger store. The prices are sometimes a bit higher than other Pick N Save or Copps stores in the area, but that I attribute to being the only game in town. Basically, it'll do. But it could be a bit better. So three stars not because they've done anything wrong, but because they could just improve on a few points. The staff here are quite pleasant and it's not unusual to see a manager running a checkout or even bagging groceries - which I think is pretty great. Always good service here. read more

Pick and Slave....where to begin. I only shop here when I am forced to....like if in the middle of a dish and I need something I forgot to pick up in Madison. Otherwise we avoid this store like the plaque. It has cleaned up a wee bit since we moved to Columbus in 2006. Gone are the mystery odors I found oh so charming....but it's still a dump. Produce appears to be second hand from Copps and beware of outdated products. We've found things a year over the expiration date on the shelves and have given them to unconcerned employees. If you want to save money and eat decent food shop in Beaver Dam, Sun Prairie or Madison for your groceries. read more

The store is a pain to get in/out of. Not alot of choices too choose from. The store seems to be jammed into a small building. Although was a fast check out on a Friday evening at 6pm so wasnt too bad. The isles were filled with workers stocking which was irritating when your trying to shop. It is close too my house, but I think I would have rather gone too Beaver Dam! read more

I much prefer the Pick N Save to the new Sentry. The produce is far and away superior--and this is the area that I shop in almost exclusively. As far as pricing, the things I buy are better-priced at the Pick N Save, as well. I do wish there were more organic options in the veggie aisle, but compared to Sentry, at least they have SOME. Also, I really like how the produce is VERY well-marked, pertaining to country/state/town of origin. I'm still learning the inner aisles of the store, and sometimes I have to bop around a bit because their setup isn't one I'm familiar with (but I'm used to Wegman's out east, and it's probably just different--nothing to dock points for). The staff here are very friendly and pleasant. Columbus isn't exactly a large dot on the map, and I'd love a TJ's in the area, but in its absence, Pick N Save is a great little store. read more

Fantastic prices for the 2018 Memorial Day sale! Great quality meat and produce! We spent $134 and saved an additional $107 more with their courtesy card!!! Nice, neat clean store with a smaller selection of other staples perhaps, but well organized. We'll definitely keep an eye open for future sales. The staff both days that we stopped in were super friendly and helpful! We've told numerous friends about it. WE'LL BE BACK!! read more

I really do not like the setup of this store. The first time I came in I got turned around several times. After a few visits I still have a hard time finding certain things. The employees seem nice though and it's a convenient location for me. Their prices on some things are a little ridiculous but if you shop the sale items it's not to bad. read more

This is the only grocery store in Columbus, yet it is so terrible, we would prefer to drive to Sun Prairie or Beaver Dam to get groceries. First of all, the building is old and poorly maintained, so everything looks dingy and smells stale (not really the kind of place that makes you want to buy food). The layout of the store is also terrible- things are crammed together (especially the dairy aisle) and poorly organized so it is impossible to find anything. They also do not have much of a selection of food, and what they do have is outdated or in the case of produce, wilted and starting to rot. The absolute WORST part of the store is the service. We actually stopped eating deli meat and switched to PB&J specifically because the deli is so filthy (as in flies, dirty meat slicer, workers touching food with bare hands, etc.) and the service is painfully slow. It is not uncommon to see a line of 7-8 people while the one worker takes 5 minutes to even notice there is anyone waiting, and then proceeds to move at a snail's pace, to the point where people get frustrated and give up waiting. And this area is extremely congested (they put displays of stale-looking cookies under 6 inches of neon frosting right in the middle of an already narrow aisle), so if there are more than 2 people with carts waiting at the deli, the aisle gets full and completely cuts off access to the bread and the entire produce section. The only time we shop at Pick n' Save is if we are in a hurry and just need one or two things, and like most people, this often occurs around dinnertime. Yet while the store is often really crowded at this time, there are rarely more than 1-2 aisles open with LONG lines, and a bunch of other employees standing around literally doing nothing. For example, there are ALWAYS two middle aged women standing at the end of the aisles "watching" over the check out lines (ie chatting and doing nothing). Last night (Sunday) we stopped in around 7:30 for some ice cream. We left empty handed because ALL of the ice cream in the freezer was half melted. And as we walked out, we noticed tons of employees standing around, with a couple of teenage girls literally draped (ie half laying down) over the bagging areas, loudly whining about not wanting to be at work. So on a Sunday night (normally a pretty dead time for grocery stores) you have 30 people working, but 5pm on weeknights you have maybe 4 people working? Any job I ever worked as a teenager was strict in that if you had down time, you didn't stand around whining, you cleaned. From the looks of Pick n Save, there hasn't been any cleaning going on since the early 90's. Do yourself a favor, save yourself a lot of frustration and possibly food borne illness, and make the extra drive to Sun Prairie. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with the store. It is very narrow in the walkways and turning out of an aisle can be challenging. They are concerned for "discrimination lawsuit" and must card EVERYONE for alcohol; however, they aren't concerned for accident lawsuit for being hard to maneuver and tight quarters or the sodas in the entry alcove are dangerous... pulling one down I had one fall on me....ouch!! They rock too much so not very sturdy, maybe someone will get hurt?! I will never buy alcohol here for the inconvenience of their paranoia that so many other stores do not have! I love that they are starting to add more options for low carb items. The CarbMaster yogurt is amazing. There are amazing people that work here and have only run into one VERY rude/unconcerned person. I like the salad bar; however they need to regulate the temperature better. I like to stop after work to grab a salad and the lettuce and eggs and other things are "frozen" to the bottom and very limp from being too cold. The deli is amazing and so much to choose from. The meats are awesome. LOVE the pre-made cheddar burgers...so juicy... although it is possible they changed the provider? The last one I got wasn't as juicy. I love that they have "partnered" with BP and I can get discount on gas! I agree with many of the other reviews and would like to see it be a little bigger and offer a few more items. I went to get my Niece some lunchables for school and they had none? Like I said, love/hate. The love overpowers the hate and I can manage by avoided the "hated" aspects. I am often asked if I found everything ok...when I mention things I didn't find they say they will pass on the info. Thank you Pick N Save for trying to please the community! read more

I always think the quality of a grocery store can be measured by how good the produce is. On several occasions, I've found rotting vegetables on the shelf at this particular Pick N Save, and I've actually purchased Items only to find mold on them when I get them home. They can do better, and they should. The produce is embarrassing. Other than the quality of the fresh fruits and vegetables, the rest of the store is adequate. read more

I like the pick n save in Columbus over the sentry for sure, better bakery and they are very helpful every time I visit

I've lived in this area for 15 years. I quit going to this Pick n Save, years ago for two reasons. The roads in Columbus are absolutely the worst although, most Wisconsin roads are in serious disrepair. Columbus spends road money on other unrecognizable activity, according to a board member. The second reason is that the store is outdated and they evidentially don't have any reason to update the store. Luckily, there is a new Sentry Store to go to so, I have even less reason to go into the City of Columbus! Personally, I hope this Pick n Save looses lots of business... read more
