I knew the challenges that owning an English Bulldog brings....and let's just say my fur baby has most of them! Foremost a tight corkscrew tail which was a multiple daily, not so pleasant for dog and an owner, experience of cleaning and treating to prevent tail pocket issues. After a few years of dealing with this, the smell and stains and most importantly having a not so happy puppy I decided to see a new vet who could remove his tail... one visit with Dr. Liz resulted in immediately diagnosis that due to one undescended testicle, which my other vet dismissed as a non issue, was causing an over production from his anal gland and if left the testicle would cause cancer. Right now my boy has his tail... no more testicle... smells like a dream and most importantly is happy and healthy! I can not thank Dr. Liz and her staff enough! They made my dog and myself very comfortable from day one and really hung in there with us and didn't give up on helping my dog through this!! It's very difficult to pack animals in a car to get shots and checkups. Having my animals in their own environment while getting checkups and vaccines is practically stress-free. My animals are always happy to see her and always greet her at the front door. She is always thorough, competent, helpful, and extremely kind and has always taken a lot of time with me and my pets and answers every last little question. I also love the fact I can call her cell phone when I have a medical questions and she always calls me back promptly. And there are times when I call and ask for a shot record, and I have an email with the document in my inbox practically before I hang up the phone. She advised us through an eaten sock, a groundhog scratch, yearly check ups, arthritis, and cancer. Dr. Nelson was there every step of the way to offer guidance, advice, and even communicated with the Metro Vet for the various surgeries performed. Unfortunately, when we made the decision to end Sugar's suffering and say goodbye, Dr Nelson helped us with that difficult decision and was understanding and empathetic. We will always appreciate everything Dr. Nelson did for our family and when we get our next pup, we will be sure to continue to see her.

Called this morning and spoke with Janet to see if my dog could possibly come in for a tech visit…read more My dog did have a scheduled appt for tues, but she has been coughing and and allergies making a suffer. My dog nearly ever comes inside because she doesn't go around other dogs.So the last time they were busy, the tech was able to just run outside real fast and give my dog a shot at the car.That's all I was asking. Janet was so rude and ignorant as I was asking her any possible way. She was getting annoyed with me and she said no go take her to emerg room. She continued to be rude and she then didn't want to hear anything else i was saying she clearly had no empathy for my dog or for me. She hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I called right back and she just hung the phone up. I called for the third time and she put me on hold. After that, I decided to call another veterinarian, who was kind and compassionate and have no problem taking me first thing. They didn't mind all the questions that I was asking, and I told them exactly how I was treated by janet at steinbach vet. I later called back to see if my records were sent to the new veterinarian and to cancel the appointment that I had scheduled on Tuesday. I then spoke with Jessica who apologized for Janet. For what she did to me, this is unacceptable. No empathy and didn't seem to care that my dog was suffering. And literally, it just shows what type of person she is, and she has no compassion, and she was rude and ignorant. And this is how you do business. You hang up on your clients. She should not be working there. She should be fired, no compassion and hung up. I would not recommend this vet. Stay far away from them. It's not a very clean place either, and it's old and dingy. Jessica was nice she listened, but then all of a sudden she had said to me. Oh, there's 2 cancelations, all of a sudden. There's 2 cancelations and there was an appointment for Saturday.
