There is always miscommunication between the receptionists, there are long waits, the doctor lacks empathy and bedside manners. My visits has become disheartening. The appointment time includes a hour wait for a 5 minute visit. On 10/31/2023, my son and l were at an appointment for his asthma form. I expressed twice that l can not wait due to work however l can reschedule for a better day. The nurse assisting my son and I insisted on speaking to the doctor. As my son and I stand in the hallway outside of the room we notice the doctor began to speak to the nurse aggressively about us not wanting to wait. I decided to speak and said hello and before l can finished my sentence he said hello and slammed the door in my son and l face. I just wanted to express to the doctor l will reschedule. This was my last straw with Saint James Health. It made my son and l very uncomfortable and humiliated, we will never come back.

You can call for an appointment when they open at noon, but everything feels like it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Your appointment is a guess of when things might be less busy. If your situation is not extremely urgent, your best bet is to call, ask for the latest available appointment, and drop by then. I relocated to California. I still see my dentist in Newark (Dr. Gultz), since I visit home roughly every 6 months. I really wish I could do the same with Dr. Ferraz, but -- for better or worse -- illness doesn't come on a regular schedule!
