Hands down the cleanest most organized Home Goods I've ever stepped foot in. Everything is…read moreorganized by category and rarely do you see an item on a shelf that doesn't belong there. They have a great gourmet food section, everything you could possibly need for your kitchen and endless amounts of decor for the home. They have tons of gift bags and wrapping paper, seasonal items, blankets, sheets, comforters, you name it. The only thing I'd never buy from Home Goods are their pillows for the couch. They are so uncomfortable both the filling and the outside, I'd never want to lay on them they sort of crunch and they aren't cheap. Usually staff is out on the floor making sure the aisles are kept clear and things are being appropriately placed back on the shelves. When the line gets long, which is often does, someone always makes note to add an additional cashier and for the most part the line moves fairly quickly. Their return policy isn't the greatest, just make sure you always have your receipt and never remove the tags off of anything and you won't have an issue. This location now that I'm thinking of it has a smaller candle selection than most Home Goods I've gone to. Their aisles for pets is so plentiful, tons of doggie beds and food bowls, etc. Highly recommend, their prices are generally better than Michaels for home furnishings.

I was greeted just as warmly by Deb, the shop owner, who chatted with me as I browsed. She's got the level of attentiveness just right-- she's lovely and engaging, anticipating customer needs (like offering the fitting room, if you're looking to try on their cute selection of vintage clothing) while also giving you room to explore the gorgeously-curated boutique. There are quirky, fun details to be found in every corner. I've learned pretty much everything you see is fair game! Even antique pieces I was sure were display only, like vintage thermoses and framed art. All affordably priced. Stationery, slim beeswax tapers, canvas pouches, unique kitchen/home goods, retro posters, knicknacks, vintage accessories, and so much more. I'll be adding photos, since words can't convey the array of awesome to be found here. Even better is it's pet friendly! Bring your furry friends. I know I'm going to visit as often as I can to make up for not discovering this Ithaca gem sooner! What makes the vibe immaculate is the shop staff, especially the owner! They have been just sincerely kind, generous, and lovely people. They have a basket of free water bottles to keep visitors hydrated. This is a new local hospitality bar set! If you drop by, tell them E sent ya.

There is…read moresomething for everyone, including tools, toys, jewelry, home goods, rugs, art, advertising, lighters/tobacciana, even electronics. Little kids might be a bit bored but unlike many of these types of stores where it's a lot of old clothes and books, I found EOAC (may I be the first to shorten the store name to 'ee-oh ack'?) to be very diverse and was not bored at all while the rest of my family looked around. Prices can be hit or miss, and the sellers are not around in their individual 'booths' so there's no opportunity to negotiate, but given that this is a retail store, the prices were definitely not outrageous. Pro Tips: -We were there around closing time and they do shut down promptly at that time- lights off, doors locked. Make sure you buy whatever you're looking at before then. -There's a good amount of on-street parking along the side of the store, particularly the diagonal spots right around the corner, if you can snag one -The two-block area of Owego around the store is really perfect for strolling/shopping/hanging out. -The downstairs part is very clean and well organized, and not super-crowded with stuff. The upstairs is a little funkier, especially the side and back rooms (which look like they may have originally been employee break or stock rooms). Don't make the mistake of not at least taking a peek upstairs and seeing if there's anything you like. The only drawback I see is the second floor is not accessible; no ramp or elevator that I saw, only stairs (remember this was built as a department store in the 1950's). The first floor does seem wheelchair accessible though. So far we've been here twice and would stop by again if nearby. If you are a die-hard antique/collectible person, this store could be worth making into a destination all it's own.
