Absolutely amazing experience! During a recent group travel trip to Buenos Aires, I had the opportunity to attend a Piazzola Tango show with dinner. I had never seen a traditional tango dance or performance so I was very eager to attend. Upon arrival, we were seated in the immaculate auditorium. The waitresses' took our meal and drink orders then shortly after, we were invited to attend the tango dance class. The tango class is not a one-on-one or structured tango class. Its a basic group gathering where two of the dancers show you a basic counted step then you partner up with someone and practice. The dancers also lend themselves to perfect the step with you. Honestly, the tango class was alright, not amazing. The instructors only spoke in Spanish, so it was a little confusing at times. Upon finishing the class, we went back to our seats and had dinner. Dinner was good. I started my meal with empanadas then continued on with a meal consisting of steak and fries, paired with chimichurri sauce. Both items were delicious and prepared well. I did not like my dessert, it was some sort of pudding/mouse, which didn't taste very great. The waitresses/staff did not provide the best service and I'm not sure if it was due to the language barrier or just bad service, but it wasn't great. For example - I had to ask for a refill on my drink at lest 3 times before I actually received it. Also, my steak wasn't prepared as I had requested, took forever for it to come back to me. The show is AMAZING but starts very late. If you have been traveling or fall asleep early, please keep this in mind. We went to the venue around 7pm. The show itself did not start until about 9pm and ran until about 11pm. I was exhausted after a traveling almost 16 hours and began to fall asleep by 10. All-in-all the show was beautiful, amazing, and so entertaining. The dancers were graceful, the music wonderful and authentic, and the singing was beautiful. We also got a chance to see the 2019 world tango champions perform - absolutely stunning! Overall, a great experience. If I could, I would give 4.5 stars for the show alone. The dinner is what really took away from the experience however, I would highly recommend attending. Its worth a visit! read more

The show started 15 minutes late. We bought our ticket at the box office 20 minutes before the show. We opted for the show only. The performers are high quality. There was singing, dancing, and a live band. They kept the show moving. It was 75 minutes. I wish they would have given a brief history of tango. read more

Love this place. They give you tango lessons, dinner and a show. I order the pumpkin soup it was amazing. The steak was good but I tried the chicken and I liked it more and from the dessert I tried them all as I went in a big group and they were all delicious. Wonderful place must check it out. This is my wife's account: We are typical millennials. Both of us do not like touristy stuff but everyone said you have to see a tango show. I would highly recommend this one. Booking was easy. I did it through Expedia. I assume it was cheaper because we went on a Monday. (Isn't it like that with anything though). After booking, I received a message in both Spanish and English requesting confirmation and address for pick up. They only pick up at certain hotels in Palermo. Ew. Who stays in hotel anymore. We took an uber from our airbrb. Most tango reviews, either the show is crap or the food is. I'm not a picky eater, but I do like nice food if I am paying for a dinner ticket. I thought the food, starter, dinner, and dessert were great. We ordered our steaks lomo jugoso. They were more medium, still good. The service was attentive. She brought us food timely, and refilled drinks. The show felt like watching a play at a city theater in the states. The theater is beautiful! Ps. We forgot something at the theatre. After the gate was locked, they let us come back and even let us use the stage elevator. read more

This is an excellent sport for live argentine culture! The tango lessons to begin were so fun and easy to understand. Then the dinner that followed was delicious! Everyone in our group of 8 enjoyed their appetizer, entree, and dessert! The chocolate mousse was very rich and the parfait was yummy but needed to be chilled a little (imo). The tango show that followed dinner was incredible and impressive! The dancers, singers and orchestra were all very professional and so entertaining. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because the tango show was QUITE long. Well over an hour of just watching tango performances, singing performances, and orchestral performances. So much so, that I was noticing people in the audience sleeping (maybe from too much delicious red wine with dinner). Other than the length of the show, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, the evening was very well executed and highly enjoyable. read more

We didn't have a reservation when we walked in, but they sat and served us quickly. :) The food was nothing to write home about, but the Piazzolla makes up for it with an amazing tango show. Enjoyed the tango class, dinner and the tango show. I think for the price you pay you get a great deal. I definitely think it is good for tourists like myself since they also provide you with the option you can get picked up and dropped off at your hotel. When my cousin and I came in we were impressed with the theater itself. Very beautiful and authenticity decorated to make you feel like you are in the prime age of tango. The tango class is nice although I think if it is crowded it makes it difficult to follow along. The dinner itself was alright. I didn't like the Caesar salad it was in a weird bread bowl. It is a great perk to have open bar where you can order as many drinks as you want. The tango show was absolutely amazing! I was enamored with the dancers and the intricate ways they moved their bodies to the music. Once I saw these dancers in the performance they made the street tango dancers look like they didn't know what they were doing. Highly recommend this place because of the tango show, convenience, inexpensive and you can learn to tango as well. You can't beat that! read more

There will be 3 segments: the tango class, the dinner, and the show. The tango class teaches basic steps and everyone pretty much fumbles about giggling. The dinner offers one choice of three options for appetizer, entree, dessert. Wine and other beverages are endless. I would give the food a B--decent, but not extraordinary. If you had your wine early in the dinner, the meal will be fabulous. Anyhow, the show is absolutely sexy! The women and men strut with their perfect physiques. They tango in beautiful outfits and its absolutely mesmerizing. This thing about "authentic" tango show is a misnomer. All shows are obviously for tourists. If you want to see the natives do their thing in the wild, you must go to a milonga or milongueros. The only thing I found outdated was that photos were not allowed once the show began. This is so archaic. People still discreetly stole a shot here and there. And although they offer photos with the dancers for a price, its not the same thing as snapping your own memories.with your sloppy photo-taking skills. Just let us! Either way, I loved it. read more
