I had the chicken Marsala which had an unique flavour and not too mushroomy. Fam had pizza and vegan ravioli which were excellent too. Only let down were the desert which did not reach our expectations. Creme brûlée was just above average whereas the tiramisu and lemon cake were below par. Had a good chat with the owner. My friend and I stumbled upon this place as we looked for a place to eat for dinner. We sat in the patio area since it was nice outside. I didn't see the interior but my friend said it was nice when she went to the washroom. The service was slow, in my opinion. It was hard to grab their attention a couple of times. We ordered bread on to dip on the mussel sauce which took a while to come to our table. We ordered Calabrese pizza and mussels with white wine and pomodoro sauce. The pizza has pomodoro sauce, mozarella, calabrese spicy sausage, and oregano. It was a very simple pizza but I felt like it was missing something. Some spice or an oomf factor. Me and my honey buns were walking around the area and saw this nice restaurant. We decided to give it a try. We really liked Italian food and if you like Italian food, this is definitely the place to go. Met the owners and they are very friendly. Staff is very nice and service is great. There are some crazy reviews by some crazy people here saying that Piazza's food is anything less than perfect. I had the fortunate experience of grabbing a quick bite for lunch here yesterday and let me tell you this place is 100% AUTHENTIC ITALIAN APPROVED. I went for their special pasta of the day yesterday which was a freshly made Parpadelle made with a lamb ragu. HOLY SHIT. I think I blacked out when I ate it. It was so good that one minute I had a full plate, and then the next, it was gone. This was not for lack of portion size, it was perfect for lunch, but I just devoured it. The noodles were so fresh they popped with every bite in my mouth and cooked to beyond perfection. And that ragu? Wow, made to order sauce done with generous morsels of lamb meat throughout, it was a fantastic dish, one that I want for breakfast as I write this review. The location is a tad hard to find but totally worth seeking out. This hidden gem is located below street level just off of Oakville Town Square (west side of the square). As you walk down you might think this is just a gelato/pastry/sandwich shop for taking away, and they do have THAT, but making a right hand turn opens you up to a intimate, beautiful dining room with great design and lighting which can make for a relaxing mid day lunch or an intimate romantic dinner for two. Hi We were a party of four with an 8 month old baby at lunch today. We were somewhat surprised to find out that the servers were not wearing masks. When we requested they do so, the answer given was that "we wear them indoors at the kitchen". Well, that's a relief!! I'm sure the customers appreciate the fact that the Chef is well protected but strangely, the clientele is not entitled to the same courtesy. The servers are frequently closer than 2 feet away when they're serving or clearing the dishes and this is completely inappropriate behaviour in contravention of regulations but more particularly , simple common sense. We are regulars at Piazza but will not come again until such time as the Staff observe what should really be normal procedures. read more

A gem in the heart of Downtown Oakville, steps from the lake, within the town square. This amazing restaurant is owned by a couple - Kirsten (Keersten) runs the front of the house and her husband is the chef. Their daughter Sam was serving us this weekend, so a family affair. In addition to Sam we enjoyed exceptional service from Sara, a Downtown Oakville restaurant veteran. The food was exceptional, the sizable portions of pasta, made with the freshest of ingredients, were served steaming hot and seasoned to perfection. We started with the Arancini and the Fresh Burrata, both were absolutely delicious. Ice cold water and fresh bread were brought to the table without asking. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Pinot Noir from their extensive, yet reasonably priced, wine list. The atmosphere was incredible on Saturday night. Downtown Oakville, and the Town Square were alive with people, live jazz and and overall great vibe. Our table on the patio was perfectly positioned for people watching and enjoyment of the live music. Overall I am giving the experience a 9 out of 10 for food, service, location, pricing and overall satisfaction. Our only regret is they are not taking reservations as this time so we can't pre-book for next Saturday night. The good news is we learned that they do take out and true "curbside pickup" where they will actually walk it out to your car when you pull up on Lakeshore Road. read more

I love this place. We put our name on the list to sit outside and the wait was 1 and a half hour. For the location of this restaurant, I wasn't surprised. Then the hostess suggested immediate inside seating and I went inside to check it out and it looked better than on the outside. I convinced the rest of the party (my wife and aunt Terry) and we ended up dinning indoors. The burrata was the first item on the menu and this is what we came in for. The presentation was very nice and even it wasn't as creamy as I would have liked, I thought it was great. Then we had the spicy "ando" sausage pizza, which was amazing along with the PEI muscles. I had couple bites of my wife's veal limone which was great. The complimentary bread wasn't good, but not worth the complain. Finally, we ended at the gelato bar and it was by far the best ice cream I've had. We will come back for this alone. Excellent place! Given the touristic area and the high traffic of new people, this place is doing great. read more

Reluctant to go as last time went there years ago it was awful. Obviously under new ownership and it was truly a pleasant surprise. The calamari starter was best we have had anywhere! There is a fine line when charring calamari and here they got it 100% correct. Everyone enjoyed all the food . Presented nicely, and cooked to perfection. This restaurant is worthy of five stars but they need to address two items. Got our drinks quick enough but it took over an hour before waitress took our order. Partially our fault as we were talking so much, but waitress should have approached table a couple of times to see if we were ready. The bill was incorrect. I've been going with my grandparents since I was a kid and I've always loved it! I love all their pasta and pizza dishes that I've tried and their gelato is always awesome. My fiancé and I were visiting Toronto and tried many restaurants with varying success during our stay. Then we took a trip to downtown Oakville and strolled by Lake Ontario to take in the views. We found this really neat restaurant right on the square in the middle of town. It blew us away. The owners sat and chatted with us about our travels and many other things. Made reservations for 5 people Saturday night (yesterday). Table was ready, hostess and waitress were extremely friendly and polite. Started with good appetizers: PEI Mussles in a tomato broth, the best grilled calamari we've tasted at a restaurant in years, and a decent Salumi platter. Good wine selection at usual restaurant prices, we ordered a bottle of Ripasso Valpolicella ($50). Dinner was a mix: Pesto Pizza (smallish in size, wood fired, thin, good amount of toppings, excellent value at $17); Risotto with crab, leek, and corn (daily special) was out of this world and decently priced at $22; and healthy portions of meat lasagna and gnocchi that my Italian mother would not complain about. For dessert we opted to visit the restaurant's adjacent coffee/gelato bar and grab coffee and gelato to go and enjoyed the sitting in the small park square outside the restaurant. I wish the gelato was home made there, but it was decent just the same. This restaurant gets overshadowed by the larger hipster pizza place across the street (where I've eaten many times) but with the option for reservations, very friendly staff, great menu options, decent outdoor patio, and much better value, I'd recommend it any day when in downtown Oakville. it offers high quality food, decent portions, reasonable (not cheap), excellent service. Had the pistachio gelato and the lemon & basil gelato in their smallest cup size, total came out to $4.15 including taxes. You can try the diff flavours before ordering. The gelato was so flavourful. I could taste the sourness of the lemon with a hint of basil taste. The pistachio is a must for pistachio lovers. read more

This place will consistently make you an amazing Americano, and their scones are just delicious - served on a little wood plank with butter and a lovely jam. Sitting on their patio on a summer Saturday morning is lovely. You will not be served right away (even if you're standing right there and have been noticed by the staff) and you will wait longer than you feel you should to receive your food - the staff certainly don't take any pains to be complement the experience of deliciousness with efficiency/initiative, but it is easy to overlook because once you do get your food, it's just yummy. Although the food was good, I can't say that my service was pleasant. My friend had booked a reservation through the restaurants website and/or a corresponding app for 8 o'clock, when she arrived at 8:02, they didn't have her reservation on file. Despite the mix up, after a few shuffles, they were able to find her a table. I was running late so she grabbed a drink and kindly waited for me to arrive at 8:20. When I arrived, I ordered a drink, and shortly after, maybe 10-15 minutes ordered an appetizer and informed our server that we were waiting for 1 more. As we drank our drinks and waited for our fiend, time passed. 8:50 rolled around, our friend had arrived and our server approached and asked us for our orders, and informed us that the kitchen closed at 10.... At this time I reminded them that we had requested appetizers at the time that we ordered our drinks, and had not yet received them. She apologized and said it was her mistake. We ordered our food and moved on. I would have assumed after waiting 40+ minutes for bruschetta that our server would comp the $9 bruschetta gracefully, however when the time came for her to collect payment, she approached our table and asked if she should divide it by the there bills. At this point, upset, I asked for the bruschetta to be comped. She then looked at my disgustingly with a demeaning tone and said sure. Then she returned, she dispersed the bills and told us that if we arrive late for a reservation again, we will be seated at a small table.... the service was rude, demeaning, and unprofessional. The sever should not judge a book by its cover as they have no idea the professionalism or the clientele that they could bring to the business. Never can I refer a client and or have a meeting as I would be embarrassed if I received the same service. read more
