Luckily I found someone in the parking lot to lead me to it. I never would have found it myself. The box is nice space with all the bells and whistles--Rogue equipment. Old-school style with a whiteboard on the wall to record your day's WOD performance. Great coaching and encouragement on technique. Great vibe here. Lots of ability levels ranging from super athletes to everyday folks getting in shape. Friendly people who will introduce themselves to you and get to know you.

There are folks of every fitness level who are committed to improving themselves. No one will judge you here based on your current level of fitness. We are all just trying to improve ourselves and have fun doing it. 2. It is a safety-first gym. Jodi will go over every second of every movement to make sure you know how to perform the lift. And if the form needs to improve, she'll tell ya that too. But even her critiques come from a place of concern for safety. 3. Friendship. I moved to Cleveland Heights without knowing anyone - in CrossFit I/O I found friendship. Join, commit, and you will too. 4. It is a clean gym. I cannot stress this enough. Each piece of equipment gets cleaned after every workout. I have walked past the gym late at night to find the owners deep-cleaning the gym on multiple occasions. Their hard work on cleanliness means a lot to me. 5. It's about cardio first. I am out of breath after every workout. So is everyone else. This is the sign of a good gym. Always providing modifications if you aren't doing something properly. They cheer you on, correct your form, and the energy and vibe is amazing since that energy and positivity transfers to us in class (all cheering each other on). With Covid precautions, there is no rotation stations. Youre assigned a station and watch your corresponding monitor to tell you what exercise you're doing... they've already set your station up with everything you'll need for that day's workout. M/W/F are more cardio based days (think jump squats, burpees, box jumps) and T/Th/Sun are more resistance / weight days. Saturday is a 60 min combo. Coaches (and everyone attending) are very thoughtful about their masks, it feels safe inside considering how far away you are from others.

I heard a lot about "the community" at Compound Fitness. The term could not be more accurate. The members here take an interest in each others fitness, encourage, and hold each other accountable. Trainers actually care about the whole person and find individual solutions for people to reach their goals. From strength training to bootcamp style group training, you can find it all here. Programs change and new strategies are implemented, offering a variety of options to keep things fresh. I see people of all fitness levels, from first-timers to more seasoned vets, all working together. Non judgy, non pushy, just helping people get fit.
