Anyways all that was happening was that I was getting worse. I was at the point that I was in extreme pain 24 hours a day and could barely get out of bed. That's when we found Active Health. Been coming here for almost 2 months now and I am really seeing great improvement. Actually after my first appointment I saw improvement. I have been going and receiving both chiropractic and acupuncture treatments. I can't give enough praise. Now my wife comes too and we are both feeling much better. All I can say is "Thanks"!

I booked myself a 1hr Deep Tissue Massage with Melissa ($120) and had a great experience. Melissa was very thorough in explaining her techniques and ensuring that I was always comfortable with the amount of pressure. I like a lot of pressure, so that it really feels like my muscles have gotten their knots worked out. Melissa wasn't afraid to use a lot of pressure (I find some RMTs almost seem scared to do too much) and I appreciated that. Once the massage was done, she reminded me to drink lots of water and to apply heat if possible. She said that I would feel like I had a workout the next day and possibly have some bruising. She was right - I did have some bruising, but my muscles also felt the best that they have in a long time. Definitely worth it and I recommend Melissa if you want a lot of pressure in your massage. She was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. As for the massage room itself, it was dimly lit with soft relaxing music and it was clean - pretty standard. What was a nice touch though was that there was a heating pad on the table that I could lie on to stay warm in addition to a sheet to put over me. This clinic doesn't do direct billing for members of the Public Service. I think they do for other plans. There is plenty of free parking and Mavericks Donuts is walking distance if you really want to splurge and get yourself a donut to pamper yourself! ;)

The front desk person was the worst I have encountered. She advised me that her mother had the same birthday as me but her mother was nice. She repeated this over and over. Over and beyond the receptionist, I believe my diagnoses was incorrect. My Dr. said bicep muscle tear, the physiotherapist said rotator cuff. All my symptoms point to bicep tear. Now, I am faced with another assessment elsewhere. The therapist was in a rush and left my personal papers, which consisted of the Dr's diagnoses and one of their forms in the examining room for anyone to find and read. She took my file but not those papers. Best advice I can give is stay away from Pro Physio.

I always opt for the deep tissue back massage and Aaron is good at finding and relaxing any trigger points I may have. He doesn't talk during the massage, except to ask if the pressure is good. I have been to many clinics where the RMT talks my ear off and I get no relaxation whatsoever, I'm sorry, but I am not in a salon getting my hair cut, I am getting a a massage and trying to take my mind off of things...Please be quiet! Align Massage Therapy have many locations throughout the city. They are definitely worth checking out!
