This office has a severe lack of concern or empathy for its patients. On 3 separate occasions, I…read morewas not given the treatment I needed. Not only don't they return calls, they don't keep any record of your calls. And after more than a year, I only saw the doctor once. She never introduced herself, did the procedure (with no numbing) , and left. After telling them that I would find another doctor, they had the nerve to send me a letter releasing me as a patient! This is not the kind of care that anyone deserves!!

In short, if you are the slightest bit unhappy or not confident in the level of care from Dr…read more Plucknett and her staff, I urge you to seek a second opinion like I did. If I hadn't I would have had an unnecessary D&C (a surgical procedure in the hospital under general anesthesia to remove tissue from the uterus). If you care to read the long background: I was told that I had to make an appointment (more money for them) to discuss my ultrasound results. I pressed and asked why couldn't they tell me the results over the phone, epically since their ultrasound technician told me TWICE that she did not see any polyps in my uterus. After going back forth with the very rude office staff, Dr. Plucknett answered the phone and was even more rude than her staff. She explained that they schedule follow-up ultrasound appointments with all of their patients despite the results (again, more money in her pocket) but that I did have a polyp. Confused, I said what does this mean? Her response, "Well don't you think that's why we make you come in?" Her website preaches compassionate care and it is the furthest thing from that. I went in for the follow-up appointment with the NP, Amanda, who I will say I had never had an issue with before. In fact, I preferred seeing her over Dr. Plucknett because she actually spends time with her patients. In the 7-minute long appointment, Amanda explained that I did have a polyp. I of course was confused since the technician (whether she was right or wrong in saying so) was SO confident she did not see any polyps. I asked where the polyp was and how big it was. She could not answer either question. She didn't bring the imaging in, just the report and said the next step would be to have a D&C to remove the polyp and send it to pathology to make sure it was benign. I asked about further imaging, especially since I was not having symptoms and she couldn't tell me adequate information about said polyp. She said they could do that, but there really is no point. I asked to see the report she was holding and she handed it to me. It read "Normal size uterus. Normal endometrial thickness, but possible polyp noted." Stunned, I said, "so wait a second... you want to operate on me for a POSSIBLE polyp???" She said yes, the next step will be the D&C. I said, I am getting a second opinion. On my way out, I asked the office staff for my medical records, including the imaging from the ultrasound. The Office Manager explained they didn't have the technology to provide me the imaging on a disc or USB, but she would see if they could photo copy them. It's 2022. I had a wonderful appointment with a Dr. in Lehigh Valley who was astonished by my experience to date. Side note: she also could not believe Dr. Plucknett wanted to repeat my Pap every 3 months from an irregular, low grade Pap. (Again... more money!). She explained this goes against strict guidelines given by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. For the "possible polyp" she scheduled me for further testing and explained she would never suggest doing a D&C based on the report. I went for the Saline infusion sonohysterography and not only did I NOT need to make an appointment to discuss the results, but they were given to me at the time of the appointment. The results? I do not have a polyp. Nothing. Completely clear. No follow-up needed. With all of this said, PLEASE consider a second opinion or care from an actual compassionate practice. Lehigh Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology were wonderful and they have multiple offices.
