I understand this is a teaching practice, but PLEASE--step one: teach your providers to actually speak to their patients. The new Dr. J--please take the time to read the chart before entering the room and recap the last visit so the patient knows what you're talking about. That's basic patient care. And after 10 years of loyalty (and thousands of dollars), I was charged a no-show fee when I missed an appointment due to a death in the family. I asked for understanding, but was told by the office manager that because I had three prior missed visits in the past 10 years, they had to charge me. Really? After a decade of being a paying, faithful patient, that's the level of care and compassion you provide? Very disappointing. This is not the patient-centered care I signed up for.

She truly cares for her patients... and wants to help them get well... I felt like I was dying this year...literally...I couldn't stand without toppling over or running into walls, I couldn't put two thoughts together... I'd forget what I was trying to say MID-WAY in a sentence! I looked like I hadn't slept in months...deep, dark circles under my eyes...my family was super worried about me... I had begun to "get my affairs in order". :( I didn't want my husband or kids to have to get rid of useless stuff when I was gone... they'd be dealing with enough emotional issues... so I was trying to make things easier on them... WHILE just enjoying the rest of my days... Frandzie was determined to find out what was wrong with me and help me... I had blood work done, got some other tests done that I'd never even heard of before, and went to several specialists she referred me to, personally... She went above and beyond to take care of me... Come to find out, I had completely STOPPED producing hormones... Apparently that's a really bad thing...It was suspected that I might have Addison's... Thankfully, that's not what I had... Through her very thorough testing...she discovered the reason my body stopped functioning like it was supposed to. It was actually something super weird that you wouldn't think would cause any issues... One of the medications I was taking (that a different Dr. prescribed me), ALMOST killed me. Once I got OFF that medication, I started improving... I'm not 100% yet, but I'm on my way to being well... :) I'm no longer running into walls, or toppling over... and I can think again... I don't seem like an Alzheimer's patient anymore... :) I am thankful to God that I found this practice and these wonderful people... especially Frandzie... :) The office staff are wonderful! Always kind and willing to help me in any way... I feel at home here... The office at Vanguard Medical Center, is such is so warm and inviting...and when you're called back to a room, it's so cozy... more like a home than a medical office... And Frandzie sits with you and talks to you like a REAL person... You KNOW she cares... Not like most medical offices, where they come in for 5 minutes IF you're lucky... and they give you their best guess... and hope that it works... I LOVE going to my appts here because I know I'm being well cared for... This is the first time in my entire life that I have real hope of getting better... I have other health issues... and I know Frandzie is working to help me live a normal life... Not live a sick life... I wish I had gone to a Functional medicine practice sooner... On…read moremultiple occasions I have needed orders to get labs done and it has taken multiple days of hounding them over the phone to send the orders or they have neglected to send them altogether. On the first occasion it took me two days and over 10 phone calls to get someone from their office on the line. Even then when I requested that an order be made for a TB screening they sent a blank document over their patient portal, resulting in restarting the process of getting someone on the phone. Another similar incident just occurred today. I kindly asked that the office fill an order so that I may receive COVID testing and the same thing happened as last time: I called multiple times and still was not able to get the order placed. When I asked them to fax it to the Quest Diagnostics I had an appointment at, she said it was "done" BEFORE I was even done reading the fax number to her. Imagine my frustration when I show up to my appointment only to find out that they never sent the fax, the order they sent over the patient portal is inaccessible, and to top things off they close early on Fridays so they were unreachable. As a result of this office's negligence I will not be able to receive a COVID screening. These incidents are testament to just how little this practice cares for its patients. But it is not only the lousy front desk that leaves patients with a foul taste in their mouths; Dr. Teran is also completely out of touch with the needs of his patients. I came in to the office to receive treatment for a mild fungal infection, and after receiving a cold welcome from the ladies at the front desk I spoke with Teran about the problem, who then proceeded to address other things that I didn't come in.This led to him ordering a multitude of tests that I DIDN'T NEED, including an Allergy Panel (a very expensive test and one I had already completed before). This blase approach to ordering tests resulted in me unnecessarily spending more money and wasting my time. This office has consistently shown its lack of regard for its patients' time, money, and wellbeing. I have given this office MANY chances naively believing that"it was an off day" or that "next time they won't treat me like this." Well, I am here to tell you that their disregard for patients is not a fluke but rather a consistent characterization of their care, their attitude towards other people, and their negligence. I will no longer be receiving care from Dr. Teran or his office and suggest that anyone looking for a primary provider LOOK ELSEWHERE. This ain't it.

I will begin by recounting the events…read more In January, I had an appointment scheduled and two days prior I received an email containing a letter unsigned by the doctor from the doctor's office manager Heather, informing me that I was being dismissed. Heather, the office manager had made false accusations to the doctor about my wife causing her to be unfairly dismissed in November, which also did not comply with the law, so they felt I should be also. The letter was misspelled, unprofessional, not signed, nor certified which did not comply with the legal requirements for patient dismissal. I promptly emailed the doctor and the office manager, expressing my concerns regarding the letter's omission of necessary information and that it constituted patient abandonment. After my strong correspondence, I was scheduled for an appointment with the doctor on February 17. Following my appointment, I had the opportunity to discuss why my wife, Kelly, was removed from the practice with the doctor. Not only was the letter she received non compliant of the law for patient dismissal, but the doctor was also unaware of the reason for her dismissal. Surprisingly to me, he even asked me why she was dismissed. If the letter dismissing her was written and signed by the doctor shouldn't the doctor be knowledgeable about the reason? I respectfully explained to the doctor that Heather has a personal vendetta against my wife for unfounded reasons. The doctor assured me that he "really likes Kelly"and will re-admit her. However, I question the true authority structure of this practice. If the doctor is the leader, he has the right to treat whomever he chooses, correct? Two days later, my wife attempted to make an appointment based on the doctor's words, but she was denied access. Again, I must emphasize that Kelly was released in violation of the law, which is now recognized as patient abandonment. I am deeply troubled by this practice's disrespectful, dishonest, and unethical practices, including allowing an office manager to make decisions about patients' healthcare. I no longer wish to be associated with such an organization and I will pursue any and all legal remedies available to myself and my wife no matter the cost due to patient abandonment and defamation of character!

I want to share that this is, by far, the best doctor's office I have ever been in and experienced treatment from. Dr. Kandil is super knowledgeable and approachable. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes, and Dr. Kandil spent quite a while discussing how we should move forward. When we called to schedule an appointment, Jennifer gave us so much support, and we knew that this was the 'right' office for us. Since then, I became a patient of Dr. Kandil, and every time we go to the office, I feel a part of the Era Care family. Dr. Kandil continues to be an amazing individual, caring doctor, and super smart person. I cannot say enough about Dr. Kandil and his office. I do not like doctors overall, and I have a totally different feeling whenever I visit this office. I totally 110% trust Dr. Kandil and his staff; in fact, we are moving to the Kissimmee area, and I will travel the distance to remain a patient of this Dr. He, and his staff, are outstanding!
