So you wait, fill out the paperwork and then get lost in the Orlando traffic. BIG MISTAKE. You try to call while driving to see if you need to reschedule or keep coming, only to be left on hold the entire 6 mins you are late driving there. Get to the parking garage, run inside wait in line and are told you are at the wrong check in line & sent around the corner. You get around the corner to a line with 6 people in it. by now I am 15 mins late & guess what...They refuse to see me and make me reschedule. The place is a joke and have no grace. I'm getting…read morethe therapy from Leonard Mitchell, a doctor in physical therapy, and am very happy even after 2 sessions (and the home exercises) for my adhesive encapsulated shoulder. He warms the shoulder up with an exercise machine then stretches and manipulates the shoulder putting pressure on it before I do a few new exercises. They're very caring and accommodating. I requested a heating pad first to start the warm up and he gladly did that for me. I had previously come to this center and a physical therapist assistant took care of me, Brittany, and she was spot on, too. I'm inspired to do the exercises (and I'm lazy and undisciplined for repetitive exercises) seeing the progress even in a short period. I took some pics, but they're limited because the center protects patients privacy so I was asked to not include patients in the pics, even from behind. I like their professionalism.

An inflamed muscle. I pulled something or pushed something wrong during a training run. And now after seeing Rena Bissessar and the people at Vissers Physical Therapy, I feel much better. Expertise, efficiency, humanity -- Vissers is the dream package for PT. Currently, I'm progressing through the care plan, doing the stretches at home, and having a few followups ... but then only for what is necessary. And that's incredible -- past experiences with PT have always been a bit more hit-or-miss and my own comprehension of what needed to be done to get better. And a lot of PT places felt like they weren't really looking to help, they were looking to bill my insurance. Not so with Vissers! What she needed was someone who could help her with the therapy she'd been expecting to do for her new knee, but who would also show her the patience and care she needed as she recovered from the unknowns following the second surgery at the same time. This could have been a real challenge, but the folks at Vissers have been invariably kind and caring. It's been a journey, to say the least -- and having good people beside you at every step is essential. This is what we got at Vissers. Everyone we've interacted with at Vissers has been lovely, but particular praise is due to my mom's individual therapist Rena Bissessar, who has pushed her when she needed pushing, been understanding with her when she needed understanding, and gotten her a long way in an astonishingly short time toward being back on her feet again.
