She was truly sympathetic and also put me through no small amount of necessary work, both during our sessions and with exercises recommended be completed at home. While there is still work - and time - needed for me to make a full recovery with issues outside of Melanie and Apex' bandwidth, I am walking again without any pain or even discomfort. I had been on antibiotics for 20 days and they had not helped the infection. I saw him to explore alternative treatments since the antibiotics were not working. Dr. Keenan did not answer my questions, spoke over me, told me I didn't know what I was talking about, and that if I didn't want to treat my infection "it's a free country and I can keep my infection". I said, I got my tubes tied...? very confused. He said, "You're at st Mary's. You can't get tubal ligations at religious hospitals." Just nonchalant like that... The pain continued and after cortisone injections, physical therapy and dry needling sessions I'm still in pain. I sought a 2nd opinion and the Surgeon identified was the issue is. I'm scheduled for a follow up surgery to repair what should have been done initially. I was consistently made to feel that my pain was manufactured by the PA Alyssa (who needs to practice a little empathy) and Staff and come to find out there is a confirmed issue that needs surgery. I regret choosing this practice. On a positive note the front desk Staff was pleasant, and the Nurse Brenda who was the only one who showed compassion.
