Tattoo studios have got a reputation for being dark and seedy, and it's really a shame. I've been to Physical Poetry for two tattoos, and have found it friendly and welcoming.
The first time I went, I was totally put at ease by Luke, the piercer, who made me a cup of coffee and showed me the magazines.
Dave Bewick, the owner, is a skilled artist who has trained under tattooists of note, not just in the UK. It's obvious all of the staff care about what they're doing, including making you feel comfortable, and making sure you'll be happy with your tattoo/piercing.
Cost is around £70 per hour, and they prefer to do a consultation visit, and then invite you back to the studio (unless they have time, and it's small of course!) read more
