That was a problem for us but with the assistance of google, we figured out what to order. They serve complimentary bruschetta. It was tasty. We decided to share a calzone, it is large! Mmmm the dough was soft and fresh. It contained olives, mushrooms, chicken and cheese. The tomato sauce was kind of on the bland side... It was still good.. Im not a fan of olives... luckily it was easy to separate. Tortellini with Prosciutto. It was delicious, the portion isn't large but the cream sauce was so rich! Good thing we shared this entree as well. We were both satisfied with our meal. Food was served hot and quick. The atmosphere is kinda quirky but had a nice local kind of feel. We would definitely come back if we were in the area again... but for now, Auf Wiedersehen!!!

First time we ended up waiting 10 minutes before we could get our reserved table. Second time they had some event there and did not even bother to warn us about it! We got a terrible table right in front of the toilet (and it didn't even look like a table, I suspect that table is not meant for guests). We had to sit close to a mountain of coats and gifts of the guests of the event. Terrible experience, like we didn't make a reservation and like they did us a huge favor by putting us in some kind of facility room. We had to leave.

Pizza is very tasteful, cooked in the Wood Owen, and has a good choice of other Italian dishes, pasta in particular. Nice to try at lunch time, where prices go down a lot: any pizza, for example, would have a fixed price (6 Euros), a nice occasion to try the one with Parma ham!

My dinner partner got a small salad, which was very crunchy, fresh, and the dressing was a very good balsamic-based dressing. I would recommend getting that instead as a starter. For my main, despite my misgivings, I ordered a grilled salmon with blanched vegetables. My misgivings come from the fact that I can cheaply and easily make this at home (skin the salmon, drizzle oil and salt, pop it into the oven) but I decided to go for the €18,90 salmon. I did ask for a cream sauce additionally to jazz it up a bit and justify the price with the product, and boy, am I glad I did. The blanched vegetables were pretty blah (potato fingerlings, zucchini, bell peppers) but the salmon was perfectly cooked, and the creamy sauce complemented the salmon nicely. My dining partner had the pumpkin risotto with baby calamari. I tried some and it was creamy, smooth, and flavorful. My salmon was better though :) Good service, nice ambience, excellent food, high prices. You pay for what you get here.

They also have very good appetizers, salads and a few other dishes, most of those changing often. The coffee is great (Saquella beans through a La Cimbali machine and the staff is competent enough). Sophia, the owner, is there most nights, so if you need an explanation for the name (there is one), ask her. She speaks great English, too. Some minor annoyances: they don't take any credit cards and you have to sit far in to avoid the cigarette smoke of the outdoor guests. Still, this is an easy four stars.

Pizzeria Marinella has that "hole-in-the-wall" charm, with friendly, family-style service that makes you feel welcome right away. The prices are great. I had dinner with a LARGE mushroom pizza and San Pellegrino water for €22.50. And yes, like almost everywhere in Germany, the water was more expensive than the beer! It's not a fancy place, but it absolutely does the trick when you're looking for something easy, affordable, and enjoyable.

My stepson was craving pasta so he ordered the linguine with tartufo (truffle sauce) and my husband and I shared a margherita di búfala (margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella). My stepson wanted to sit outside so it was the bartender who came out and took our order. Service was a bit on the slow side. We observed though that at this region of the world, servers seem to be trained not to rush customers so you would need to let them know if you are in a hurry. If you didn't, then it would be safe to say you will have to ask for the bill once you're ready to pay otherwise you might wait a while. Anyway, the pasta was delicious per my stepson. Then the place expanded, annexing the restaurant around the corner, changed oven, staff and attitude. The quality of the pizza suffered, and everything else too. I come back once a year or so now and every time I'm convinced that there's much better places in Munich if you wanna spend a night out eating Italian. The staff aren't the most friendly and on a weekend night they really try to fill up the place by squeezing customers together. I was also disappointed with my pizza tonight. I ordered a margherita with extra cherry tomatoes. There was basically no cheese on it and there was ONE, no kidding, ONE cherry tomato on it. I guess I even paid 1,29 extra for the extra topping. LOL Still, it's not a catastrophe, and they do have a nice and quiet outdoor space.
