The place gives you fresh market feelings and they prepare the food in front of you. Everything is locally sourced and tastes delicious! We had a wonderful fruit smoothie and bowl of fruits. There is a good amount of seating and a nice rooftop terrace that would be great in the warm weather.

But this place had a deal where you could buy 10 for 5chf or .60chf each. Plus we got served by a lovely lady named Christina who was very kind and helpful in giving us directions to the Lion Monument (Lowendenkmal) and also showed us the differences between the German and Swiss cuckoo clocks (plus she also let my mum tape the cuckoo clock when it went of at half past the hour). That kind of service, going above the extra mile, plus the good price means this is a tourist shop I would totally recommend above the others.

More than 30 years ago it was quite a bit darker and there wasn't a third floor (for quite some time). The only big restaurant was from Manor, later on a Donut Place opened up (I miss it until today). There even was a Burger Fast Food joint for a while...which is gone also. But let's skip a few years....and arrive in 2019. The mall is bigger than ever. But still with the huge - and free - parking over several floors. But even so, it can get full on busy days. There's a good selection of shops in the mall. A bit something for everybody. Stores changed a lot the past few years....some of the old ones, that have been around for years, are gone now. Making space for chains like Zara, which we like very much. A good addition. The main anchor here - Manor - is always worth a look, especially on summer or winter sale. H&M or C&A has cheaper deals, a bit of a hit'n'miss, but always on our list. The food market of Manor is a delight. Nice setting, great food presentation, products of high quality. With a great meat, fish & seafood, cheese and booze & wine section. There are several spots to grab lunch. Brezelkönig has fantastic Pretzels (we prefer the one with salami), great for a quick lunch. For Pizza and Pasta we head to Bachmann, which is also a bakery and confiseur. On the top floor you'll find the Manora restaurant and Jasmin's - if you feel like asian food (not too authentic though). But we always go for Brezelkönig or Bachmann. Just across the street you will find "Jumbo" - a huge Do-it-yourself store....quite big. Qualipet - the pet shop - is outside of the mall, in case your furry friend needs some treats. It's not the biggest mall - it once was one of the biggest. And now the Mall of Switzerland has opened. But I grew up with this mall....and I will always go for this one....I don't care about the new openings. This one has charm. And it's also easy accessable with public transportation. And it's also pet friendly.

In fact, the overall experience here is good enough I'll probably hit this instead of the HB Migros on Sunday after-hike shopping detours. Yes, it's a little hectic on a Sunday, when most grocery stores are closed --- but an order of magnitude less than the HB Migros. Their bread isn't half bad either --- certainly at the fresher, crustier end of the Migros spectrum. (The Alnatura Migros in Höngg turns in a particularly lackluster bread selection, this Express easily surpasses that). I first stopped here for picnic supplies; I was impressed enough to do my weekend's shopping on the way back past. Definitely a big help on empty-fridge Sundays.
