As a client from this shop I just want to share my experience. I bought vaypor Bont shoes in July 2012 to replace my Gaerne that started to age. After a few rides with the Bont I experienced serious pain in both knee and had to get it medically checked. It turns out that these shoes rigidity left zero flexibility to my heel and fixed my knee in the same position for the whole pedal cycle leading to a lot of stress on my knee. Now I am back on my old Gaerne and the problem is away. On the positive side I must say that during the first ride and before the pain started I experienced great power sensations with these shoes.
Now that is when the fun part starts. As a result I contacted the Sky Group, the shop I bought them from, explained the problem I experience and asked for a refund or voucher. It was probably one of my worst customer service experience. I was literally baffled by the lack of customer orientation and arrogance of Daniel Grab, the store owner. Incapable of understanding the pain I went through he was trying to make a point that the problem is me and my knee and suggested I buy more of their solutions to fix the problem by getting a custom made sole and doing a full bike measurement for a very expensive price and refusing to commit to any guarantee that it would really fix the problem or that I would get my money back if it did not. At the end he proposed to exchange the shoes for a voucher reduced by 20% to account for a renting of the shoes.
Conclusion:
4 star for the shoes. If they do not cause problem to your knees they are very performant. I got very good power sensations in my first ride with them before the pain started.
